sexy crispy SHRIMP (GF) (left) @ extra-juicy CHICKEN (GF) (right)
    Mark T.

Let me tell you something... the Sexy Crispy Shrimp are in a league of their own. Absolutely and total perfection, with no notes (at least, no critiques). The shrimp was cooked and breaded flawlessly, the slaw added an ideal level of freshness, and the sauce leveled up the savoriness and overall flavors. While I would have been happy to munch on these all day long, variety is the spice of life, thus I branched out. I also had the privilege of trying the Extra-Juicy Chicken, the West Side Ground Turkey, and the Bangin' Beef. These three were also terrific, Taylor's does not skimp on proteins whatsoever, but also doesn't overload them for the sake of it. Proteins themselves had cosmic levels of flavor, and all (including the chicken) were tender and did not feel as though they've been sitting in a hotel pan for a few hours. While I wanted to say the chicken feels as though it needs something to punch up the flavor, I Only one note here: these three tacos felt as though they needed something a little crisp/fresh to offer contrasting terms of texture. I think a little of that amazing slaw or maybe some finely diced onion is all it would take. The service here is superb. It was very friendly, welcoming, and lightning quick. There is some seating inside, though it is limited. The vibe is cute, with pink tones and murals.

Such a cute, yummy experience! Came here on a lunch hour with a friend who was wanting to try this place out. It was sooo worth it!! We tried the sweet potato taco and chicken taco. Both had wonderful flavors, with both types of tacos layerd with corn tortillas and bursts of flavor in each bite. We LOVED it!! The inside of the restaurant is colorful and welcoming. This restaurant is located on Taylor street, with some seating inside. Prices are reasonable as well. The staff were super kind and helpful. We plan to come back here on another lunch break.

Great tacos!! Tried the steak, beef, shrimp and fish and they all hit! Great toppings and great prices too. The elote was awesome, added some hot sauce and it was perfecttt! Service was great and the food came hot and fresh. The space itself is a little small but we still found a spot to sit and eat! Overall a fun vibe with great quality, affordable food!

We came to Taylor's Tacos, specifically, for the Taste of Bri collab mushroom taco of the week. It was soooo freakin' delicious! I had to order two more! The chimichurri sauce and pickled onion toppings were the cherries on top! I hope they do this collab again! I hope they also add some more vegan options, such as, more vegan/ plant-based tacos, the one they have is sweet potato and I just happen to not like sweet potatoes, but my guy got it and enjoyed it. Also, fingers crossed to them adding a vegan elote because my guy was praising the elote.

I came here for Taco Tuesday just to realize that this place is mainly for catering and only opens once a week! They've also hitting 2 years in May so early congrats to them! They have a Taco Tuesday special which is 3 tacos for $12! I ordered 5 tacos (1 steak, 2 chicken, 1 shrimp, and 1 fish) thinking they were big and I can't really eat a lot. The tacos were very tasty and flavorful. I do want to say that the tacos are a big small compared to regular size tacos you would get at other places. I would probably need like 4-5 tacos to be full from this place when I usually order 2-3. My boyfriend had 3 tacos and wasn't even full. I was greeted by a very cheerful young lady which made the ordering experience very positive. I don't remember if I saw a seating area cause it's quite small inside, but I think it's just easier to grab and go. I just parked outside and ran in to order some tacos to go. I think I liked the shrimp taco the most and then maybe fish. All tacos had a good kick out of spiciness to them if you're into spicy.

sexy crispy SHRIMP taco (left) and the Taco of the month: The Obama

This black female owned establishment holds her own with tacos. It's a super establishment but they don't need much space to wow you! I ordered the sexy crispy SHRIMP taco and the Taco of the month: The Obama. The Obama is a chicken and sweet potato blend. Both tacos were filling. They didn't skimp on the filling nor the toppings. For $4 and some change per taco, 2-3 will set you just right. The shrimp were a nicely proportion size, cooked well with seasoning. Not chewy and not dry. The Obama needed a bit of work. The shredded chicken, while tender, was a smidge dry which wasn't a good mixture with sweet potato. A nice slaw or crema would've did the taco just right and elevated the existing flavors. I'm eager to return and try more while supporting Black owned.

Place was featured on show Chicago Food to Go and I went to support their Black owned business. I was pleasantly pleased with the taco flavors! Street/paid parking. The street this place is on is busy. Next time I will park on same side of the street as the establishment. I ordered one Chicken and one Shrimp Taco. I added dash of sauce, but one doesn't need sauce to enjoy their Tacos! The owner was there behind the counter and took my order; she was very personable. Inside decor is bright and happy. Seating inside is small and quaint. Looks like they have outdoor seating. I'd love to return on a sunny summer Sunday.

So happy to finally get a taste of Taylor's tacos! After years of being mobile, she has a brick and mortar! Listen, the tacos were so amazing. I tried the shrimp tacos and also sweet potato tacos and both were full of flavor. I also got the guacamole and chips and elote. Both were so good and full of flavor The ambiance is warm and welcoming and this tiny spot is cute for a quick lunch meetup or early dinner. Can't wait to go back for more!

Amazing tacos, service, and community! Taylor and Maya are incredible individuals and the food is made with so much love. The sweet potato tacos were packed with flavor, and crunch and everything you'd want in a taco. The inside is super cute (everything is pink!) and its BYOB!! Will be back :)

I have heard soooooo many good things about Taylor's Tacos!!! I have been wanting to try you guys out when you had the pop up at the Dock's on 35th! I did enjoy my food the most part. I did have to take off two stars. I feel like if you are going to add sugar to your homemade tortilla chips, it should be noted on the menu in your store and well as the regular menu. I personally didn't care for the addition of sugar. I would have liked to have the option of not having it. Next the guacamole and chips was $5. Which I felt was priced very reasonable until I saw it. I was only given 1-2oz of guacamole. I think that's ridiculous! I understand that avocados are expensive but just raise your price and give more guacamole. It was just a swallow in the container (a classic movie quote) IYKYK! The elotes were just okay! I think the corn needed to be drained more. It was alottttt of water at the bottom of my container. Also the corn was heavily limed but had no salt. The cojita cheese and mayo weren't salty enough balance it out. Now that I have gotten that out the way..... Great welcoming customer service! When I walked in I was welcomed with a bright smile that wasn't pretentious at all!!!! The place is very small but clean as a whistle! It's only like three tables. I ordered two steak, one chicken, and one shrimp taco, guacamole and chips, elotes and a Do Well's strawberry basil lemonade. The chicken and steam tacos are small but were stuffed. My steak taco had great flavor, that chicken taco was the most juiciest chicken taco I have ever had. The shrimp was good too. I only had two shrimp on my taco but flavor wise it was delicious! The strawberry basil lemonade was refreshing a bit heavy on the sugar but very good. I definitely will return because those tacos were expertly made and delicious!!!!!!!! Next time I will order the asparagus Taco too!!

Great spot for tacos! The service was fast and the food was yummy. This may become my go to spot for tacos in little Italy.

I see why there's so much hype around Taylor's Tacos! I stopped by and the food is delicious! I got a shrimp taco, sweet potato taco, their taco of the week. The shrimp taco wasn't overly fried it had good crunch. The sweet potato tacos I was so impressed how flavorful they were! I will definitely be coming back. I like the concept they have for taco of the week. A great way to change up the menu. They have several taco options something for everyone. There's some seating available for dine-in and metered street parking.

Toady is Taco Tuesday!! So I thought we'd head over to "Taylor Taco" since they've been voted best taco in Chicago. Now my wife is half Mexican so I've had sone damn good taco's in my life. Since they were on "GMA" yesterday we expected a crowd. Actually it was full but they were fast. The first experience is always the hostess. The young lady who took our order was so nice and inviting. We ordered one Chicken, Steak, Shrimp & Asparagus Taco (they were out of the Sweet potato Taco) Now I have to be honest, the best taco in the city is straight up CAP! These tacos are mediocre at best. I wasn't impressed with any of them. The shrimp taco was my favorite. The Asparagus taco was my wife's favorite. I do like that it's black owned and I wish them nothing but the best. But as for me I won't be returning. There are much better tacos in the city. Chicken Taco 4/10 Shrimp Taco 6.5/10 Steak Taco 4/10 Asparagus Taco 8/10 All in all I'll give Taylor Tacos a solid 6/10

They truly go above and beyond to make sure they deliver great customer service. They'll do little things like offer you a free taco of their Birria while you wait for your food. Go to any market in Mexico and they'll treat you the exact same. Unfortunately for them their original Southside location is closed due to a fire but they'll be back hopefully soon! My son and daughter both ordered their Birria Tacos, my wife ordered their Quesabirria tacos and I ordered their Tazon Chico of their carnaza Birria of course. It also came with a side of their handmade tortillas. Everything tasted so fresh and the Birria was very delicious. So much flavor in the consome. Ordering the tazon is definitely they way to go here because you get the meat in the consome. But if you wanted meat only, you have the option of ordering their plato instead. Despite their well-earned fame, this spot keeps the humble, hole-in-the-wall energy intact, small, unpretentious, and staffed by some genuinely warm and welcoming people. Pop in, grab a seat, and let them do the rest. My fiancé and I shared the quesabirria combo, two quesabirrias with consomé, a Mexican Coke, and a Jamaica, and honestly, everything was amazing. The Jamaica alone deserves its own shoutout: perfectly balanced, not too bitter, not too sweet, and exactly what you need to cut through the heat of the food. The tacos came out piping hot, prepped right in front of us, loaded with cheese and packed with flavor. The consomé was warming, rich, and perfectly spiced, the kind of broth that makes you want to tip the bowl. And the accompaniments (onion, cilantro, peppers, lime, and salsa) give you full control to doctor things up to your liking. For spice lovers, this setup is a dream. My one gripe, and the sole reason I'm docking a star, is the price. At around $30 for two tacos, a consomé, and drinks, it's a tough pill to swallow. As a Mexican American, there's something about that price point that pulls me slightly out of the authentic experience I was hoping for. I fully respect the craft and passion behind this food, but it's worth noting. That said? Don't let it stop you. This food is incredible, and I'll absolutely be back.

Really awesome space at a crowded downtown location. Foods were served on nice metal holders or disposable/environmentally friendly containers and utensils. The tacos were huge, and I love that they focus on the variety of vegetables on the taco, which is often overlooked at other places. Veggies also make the taco look beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the tikka paneer, the paneer was soft for paneer but firmer than tofu, a really great texture. And the flavor wasn't overpowering. The tikka sauce was light, which I am totally fine with. The chicken quesadilla was also made well and of good value, the kids all really liked it. The salmon was good too but didn't really stand out as much, but appreciate the variety veggies on top! The mexi-Cali shrimp bowl was not bad either, but also didn't stand out much. The shrimp was good but I prefer it cooked even lighter if possible. Flavor was good tho. The rice was long grain, which I prefer, but they do give quite a lot, I ended up having quite a lot leftover. I wish the had a bit more cilantro or other herby mix to increase the depth of flavor, but overall still pretty good. Queso was also really good, thick and creamy, not too salty, but sadly the kids didn't like it as much. Husband also liked the gochujang pork a lot, said it was actually really really good. Overall, we really enjoyed everything we had there. Love that they also had paper towels everywhere. My preferred method of keeping clean haha. Will definitely come back.
