I arrived early and was not disappointed with the abundance and selection of magazines to keep me entertained while I waited. I absolutely love that this salon is located in an historic house, as a new englander I really appreciate the preservation and repurposing of old structures instead of tearing them down for new construction. I have long curly hair and asked to be scheduled with a stylist who was skilled at cutting curly hair. My appointment was with Rebecca Morin. She took the time with me at the start of the appointment to discuss the kind of cut I was looking for, how I wear my hair (curly or straight), and what I thought I was looking for. I told her this: "my hair looks blah, I'd love to give it a different look, but not loose the length and I am not sure what style would do that. Rebecca knew exactly what to do and we had a lovely chat while she snipped and styled my hair into exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Rebecca! I will certainly be returning to this local salon for hair and other services I may need for prettying and primping. And I'll be scheduling my appointments using the easy and convenient online scheduling feature on their website.

Wha?? Only one review?…read more I have to admit, when I saw there was only uno review (and 3 star one at that), I hesitated. But, it was Sunday, I hated my hair and needed a change. Immediately. First, they have Schedulicity, which is pretty much awesome. Alyssa happened to be available at 3:30pm, the last opening, so I took it. Alyssa was professional, easy to talk to and very talented. I told her exactly what I wanted and she did it...and then some. As I said, it was the last last shift on a Sunday, but I never felt rushed, which was really nice. Having recently moved here from Boston, I'm relieved to find a great place for a cut and a styling...especially for the really great price point. I went to Verde in Nashua when I first moved here, and for the money....meh? I left there feeling like I over spent with a mediocre cut. When I left the salon earlier this afternoon, I felt AWESOME. I was surprised to find a salon open on a Monday - most salons are closed. Since I often take off Mondays to have a three day weekend, I'm often stuck doing my own pedicures. The girl who did my pedicure was very personable and was running on time. My pedicure chair was already set up and waiting for me, which was helpful. I wish she asked how much I like my nails trimmed down because I felt like my toenails were shorter than I prefer for them to be. Unfortunately the pedicure chair was pushed pretty far back and since I have short legs I couldn't see just how short they were at first to be able to speak up sooner. One of my toe nails ended up being cut really short, so when she filed the file cut my skin a bit and my toe is a bit sore. It's a bit of a bummer because I'm only able to display 9 toes since one has a bandaid right now. Not a horrible experience overall - some things were good, some not so good. I think if I were to go back I'd make sure to speak up about how I prefer the length of my nails because that was the overiding factor in why I didn't rate this higher.
