Their onboarding, SEO, and sales marketing team are exceptional. They know exactly what to say to earn your trust and we were excited to work with them. Unfortunately, the actual service completely fell apart after they took our money. The Process & Financials: We paid a seperate pre-engagement consultation fee, then $1,285 upfront before a single page of work was prepared. After payment cleared, we received a lengthy engagement contract requiring signature. In our experience, an extensive engagement agreement should come before payment, not after. Three unacceptable draft tax returns followed, each containing differant but significant errors. The 1st draft was a disaster and would have cost us thousands in taxes we did not owe. The 2nd was still very wrong and missing key disclosures. The 3rd included inapplicable Texas state filings, and if filed could have caused headaches. We caught the errors ourselves. We never received a tax return we could file with any confidence. By the 3rd draft, we were done. Our taxes were not overly complex but required special attention to detail. This engagement strained our resources without providing any measurable benefit. The Disappearance: After multiple alarming errors, we had zero trust in the firm's capabilities. We felt it was a real compliance and economic risk for them to prepare our taxes. We sent a formal refund demand directly to George Dimov using the exact email addresses listed on our engagement letter and CC'd ourselves to verify delivery. We also sent it to the team who had prepared our taxes. Following our refund request, the firm went completely silent. No response, no explanation, and no attempt to clarify why we are not entitled to a refund. That is not normal. Fellow Texans: The verified CPA badge on this Yelp listing (as of 6/23/2026) belongs to a Texas CPA ,Tuo Shi (License #123237), not George Dimov. George Dimov holds no individual Texas CPA license confirmed via TSBPA public database. His firm, Dimov Associates LLC's Texas CPA firm license (C11597) expired September 30, 2025 and has not been renewed at the time of this post. Based on our research Dimov Tax, Dimov Partners, DImov Tax Specialists, do not come up in the TSBPA database. Public Regulatory Records: We later discovered that on April 8, 2026, weeks before we hired this firm, the California Board of Accountancy (CBA) filed a formal accusation against George Dimov and his firm (Case No. AC-2026-10). This is a matter of public record. Had this ongoing regulatory action been known or disclosed to us, we never would have signed on. Our experience mirrors similar patterns openly discussed by other clients on Yelp and other trusted review sources. To the Dimov Business Response Team: We provided organized documents, full disclosures, and paid in full upfront. Do not attempt to reply to this review claiming we are "not in your system," blaming a technical issue, or mischaracterizing us or our tax profile. We have the signed engagement letter provided only after we paid, the timestamps, the error-riddled drafts, the payment receipts, and the many email exchanges to back up everything written here. We went out of our way to handle this privately and amicably. We are deeply disappointed in your tax preparation services and everything we learned after we terminated our engagement. I phoned the office several times through the summer, looking for my 4k return. They were never able to help, kept referring me to the IRS, and finally an agent told me it was probably confiscated due to past due student loans. Fine. I decided to file on my own this year, and received a notice via Turbo Tax that my 2012 TAXES WERE NEVER FILED! I called the office again, to inquire and no one could find my file until i spoke with office manager Mary L. Bone. She "discovered" that 2012 was never filed because of a "signature hold". Hold up- I was THERE! I signed everything! She was impatient with me over the phone, telling me to call back or come in tomorrow because she "really had to go" but promised to resolve the matter. I went in today and found Mary to be totally unprofessional. She apologized for the error, blamed the previous manager and admitted to the staff being incompetent. I asked about a 1st time home buyer loan that Turbo Tax informed me i should have been paying since 2010. She proceeded to google my question, click around at length, and logged on to a support chat. After what seemed like a half hour of pointless clicking around (it was all i could do to refrain from taking the mouse out of her hand and explain how "the internet" worked). Finally I just asked for her to please forget it, give me my info and I'd file it myself. She acted annoyed but printed my info. She was clearly offended that I obviously thought she was incompetent and informed me that they couldnt file it anyway since it was from last year. SO WHAT AM I DOING HERE? I asked for her to please give me my ID and information back and please stop googling stuff, ill handle it myself. She then proceeded to snatch the pile of paperwork away from me and said that NOW i wasnt going to get it for being rude and to leave! I said NO! give me my paperwork!
