It's too bad because I can bring them good business, esp. since they have relocated again to a closer location to my home. I'll keep looking. I asked him what went wrong, and instead of helping me, he brushed me off and told me to "call the state" zero guidance, zero effort. The following year, I went with a different tax professional and had a very similar issue. The big difference? My new tax preparer immediately stepped in, explained what likely happened, reached out to the state, and helped me get everything resolved without a problem. That's what real service looks like. Out of fairness, I reached back out to this man (Tax Ace) to see if he could help me fix the prior year's issues. Instead of showing any willingness to help, he immediately got defensive, insisted he did nothing wrong, and repeatedly blamed me. He said doesn't even keep files in his office, they're at his house, which tells you how unprofessional this operation really is. He made absolutely no effort to support me, which I found incredibly frustrating. Thankfully, my current tax person cleaned up the mess and didn't even charge me to fix it. That says everything you need to know. In my opinion, this man is arrogant, dismissive, and acts like a complete narcissist. If you ever have an issue, don't expect him to stand by his work or help you. This is hands down one of the worst tax experiences I've ever had.

After looking for several weeks and reaching out to a few, it was Phuong's rapid response (by email and phone) and his kind demeanor that helped make my decision. Overall, working with Phuong was straightforward. After agreeing on an estimated cost, Phuong invited me to a secure portal to upload all of my documents. Alongside, Phuong provided a checklist to help guide all of the files/info that you should consider uploading. This was very efficient and helped expedite the process. From beginning to end, it took only a few weeks. It would've gone much faster, but I was delayed in uploading documents, so I caused the delay. Alongside, Phuong answered one-off questions as needed and quickly. And I had a lot of questions! But Phuong was always willing to help. The best part? Phuong confirmed I was actually owed a refund.
