Taverna Wilzy Dot had a great medieval like decor with "elves" (aka human wearing elf ears) serving. They had their own optional payment currency, ducats, which had to be exchanged prior to ordering (supposedly cheaper versus paying in zloty), and an archery and axe throwing area.
The menu was contained in a leather bound book and filled with Polish dishes along with some words of wisdom for newbies dining in their tavern.
I started with the cabbage and mushroom pierogis. The pieces were large and had a nice chewy and savory taste but 8 pieces were too much for one person. Half an order would be a good option.
The Gołąbki came with two generously stuffed cabbage rolls with ground pork, rice and groats and served with tomato sauce. The groats added a nutty flavor and the tomato sauce provided acid and moisture to this dense dish.
I was too full for dessert but would come back and try archery or even axe throwing before my next meal. read more
