During my walk through the Jewish Quarter in Krakow I stopped by a small spot setup with various food trucks.
Since I hadn't tried the Polish open sandwich yet I immediately stood in line for this food truck.
Menu was straightforward and ordering was quick. Credit card was accepted.
I took a seat at one of the tables and enjoyed the sunny and warm weather while waiting.
When my number was called, I was surprised with the size of the zapiekanka. I was a bit too big but eventually I got the hang of holding and eating it. I will need to develop a better technique next time.
My zapiekanka was covered with lots and lots of goey cheese, mushrooms, smoky sausage, red and green onions plus ketchup. It was almost like a French bread pizza but uniquely different. I devoured it and would definitely try it again on another trip to Poland. read more
