Qrudo is a gem of an Italian restaurant in Krakow.
The 2 times we went there it wasn't raining so we opted for al fresco dining. Although they thought we were crazy to sit outside in winter they had no issue accommodating our request.
They have a great wine list but on both occasions they were out of the bottle we wanted. Each time they suggested a comparable bottle that was just fine.
Irina (this might not be her actual name) was our server. Her English is perfect and not only was she able to recommend the best items on the menu; she gave use many recommendations of places to visit during our stay.
The food -
My cousin is a victim of habit she had the pappardelle pasta with mushrooms each time we when there. Nice hearty dish.
Me -
Grilled vegetables- perfect light lunch -- grilled zucchini, fennel, onions, and greens.
Bourbon chocolate cake - dense chocolate cake with drops of bourbon -great sweet!
Potato Salad - potatoes and greens with a light creamy dressing on the bottom - perfect starter!
Braised duck with beets and bread - served like a burger. There was no possible way to eat it like a burger but the duck was tender in rich sauce. The bread soaked up the gravy perfectly. Amazing dish!
Bonus the bread basket contains 3-4 mini fresh baked breads that change daily --- so good!
Great food and even better service. This place is a must if you're in Krakow. read more
