I decided to message them, rather than slam them on Yelp, to let them know of our bad service. (They offered to pay for our food if we came back, but I don't ever do that, I pay my own way.) The next time we came was just for drinks - good, tall-ass icy cocktails on a hot-ass summer day, for 5 EUR each. And the bartender was really friendly and into talking to gringos.

When I went downstairs to finalize my order, I was surprised that my desserts were placed on real plates, and my hot cocoa was served in a regular coffee mug, all arranged on a large tray--despite the order being clearly for takeaway. I immediately told the staff that I could not safely carry a large tray, hot drink, and desserts while also reaching for my room key and operating the elevator. One staff member helped me part of the way, but once I reached my floor, the tray was simply too big and my room door too heavy to manage alone. As a result, I ended up spilling hot chocolate over my desserts while trying to enter my room. I've honestly never experienced a restaurant--especially inside a hotel--that doesn't offer proper takeaway boxes or a coffee cup with a lid for room orders. This could have been easily avoided with basic takeaway packaging. Very disappointing experience for something that should be standard in a hotel setting.

The bartenders are extremely friendly, speak English and knowledgable about the types of beers they serve. The seating is intimate and the lighting is low sometimes especially in the night but it's the perfect place to relax with some delicious beers on tap or in the bottle. I agree with another commenter that stated the food is cheap and not good quality at all. The warm chorizo had no flavor or spiciness. The bruschetta with tempenade had a strong fishy flavor. The free bread offered is stale, cheap, flavorless white bread. Other downsides: this is not a clean place. There are splatters of food across the walls and menus. The menu is a laminated piece of paper, two actually. They can't be bothered to consolidate and reprint new menus. It is very dark and the night we visited, VERY loud. There is a three tapa minimum per person- yet another sign the of a cheap place.

I think this was probably the best restaurant we tried while in Brussels…read more We were craving Italian. Specifically, my partner was craving spaghetti bolognese. I did a quick search on Yelp, found that this place had good ratings and wasn't too far away and so off we went. When we arrived at about 8pm it was busy, so much so we were worried that we wouldn't get a seat. Fortunately they had just one table left on the upper floor. So, we got comfy, ordered a carafe of the house red and had a look at the menu. The menu didn't feature any pizza which surprised me but, since we were both firmly in pasta moods by now, we didn't mind. Our waitress gave us a list of delicious sounding specials and, after a little deliberation, I decided to have the Rigatoni Louisa, which was all broccoli, pancetta and blue cheese. Unfortunately, they were out of spaghetti bolognese which was nearly a disaster but lasagne was on the menu so it all worked out. It was also delicious. Everything was so perfectly cooked and the atmosphere of the restaurant was so warm and friendly, I could easily have stayed there all night. We wrapped up with coffees which were also lovely and I spent the rest of our trip wondering if we shouldn't just go back there again. If we make a return trip to Brussels, I will.

Well, we also noticed they serve sandwichs. After the sandwich spot we were going to go to only accepted cash, and we didn't have any, we decided to walk a bit outta our way and finally try the sandwichs here. We were both excited to try the rillette de canard, and that's what we did. I got the rillette de canard with a black olive tapenade, and sundried tomatoes on olive bread. The wife got something very similar, without the tapenade and instead with olive oil and no sundried tomatoes. We went with the meal deal for 8.5€, which also got us the most amazing meat empanada I've ever tasted. We had lunch there pretty early, I think we were her first customers of the day and therefore the empanadas were still slightly warm. The meal deal also came with a soft or a water of your choice. The sandwiches were amazing and for the price with the internet and the meal deal it's really hard to beat for such a great sandwich. We will undoubtedly come back and try their wine and tapas. So all in all, if you're looking for a sandwich made with amazing ingredients come here...you won't regret it.
