My friends and distant relatives would be surprised to learn I know a little something about…read moretattoos. Even more so that I have one. My age and chosen profession would suggest the art of tattooing would hold no interest for me. Nothing would be further from the truth! And the truth is I have tremendous respect for the craft and those who practice it. It has been my good fortune to experience the unique styles and techniques of a few local practitioners all of whom are expert in their own right. But it is the work of Mr Mike Kelly of DLG Studios that prompts this review. First of all he is truly a gifted artist in oil painting and captures the exact likeness of his subject. He has the ability to translate that into an amazing portrait on the human canvas. But his skill is not limited to facial reproductions. He in fact does ingenious work in taking a concept or idea and transposing it into reality. He takes your imagination and brings it to life. Or he can simply take a picture image and place it where you want it. I would suggest looking at his portfolio to decide for yourself. Or stop by and meet him. You'll find him to be warm and welcoming. His colleague Michalina is talented and color minded. And the gallery is clean and well organized. But when you decide to patronize DLG reserve a time right away. He gets booked well in advance. In the world of Tattoo its important to go where your health is protected, your wealth not diminished and your satisfaction assured. You probably have an outcome in mind and dont appreciate unfulfilled expectations. I suggest to you DLG is that kind of place. A place that takes you seriously. Novice or veteran of multiple sessions. You receive equal respect. Mr Kelly is first and foremost a decent and kind man. The father of a son to whom he wishes to leave a good name. To me thats important in choosing from a list of very talented artists in this area. The truth is I went in search of a tattoo and found a person I genuinely like and admire. His work is something you will feel proud to be seen displaying. It has the power to change impressions for the good.

My sister took it like a champ and didn't flinch me on the other hand I have a low pain tolerance so it wasn't as smooth as a ride as my sister, however josh handled it very well, and tried to make it go as smoothly as possible which I'm so thankful for! Studio 30 was recommended to me! And I would recommend to anyone any day! I got my tattoo here last month by Amy, and I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience, which is a pretty big deal when you're dealing with something as permanent as a tattoo.. not like I can just demand a refund if I'm unhappy. From my very first time there to make my appointment, I was impressed by what I saw and experienced. First and foremost, the studio is clean and organized.. BIG deal. Amy is super cool and friendly, and she literally may be the easiest person to work with. I had to cancel my original appointment and reschedule it for a later time, and she was nothing but understanding and nice about it. They do require a small deposit when you book an appointment, but they're really flexible about it. The day of my appointment, Amy opened the shop early to do my tattoo, which was super cool of her. She took time before hand to perfect my idea and make sure it was exactly what I wanted, and really helped ease my nerves as we stood there and talked.. she's got a great personality! More importantly though, shes a fantastic artist! My tattoo was simple and quick, but I chose her and her studio because I had seen her work online and was really impressed with her stuff, so I knew that even with something as simple as mine, she'd nail it, and she did. I'm totally inlove with it, and I'd recommend her to anyone, anytime!

He's also an awesome conversationalist while tattooing so if you're worried about pain that really helps! Plus, the prices are so fair; I got my biggest tattoo here and it was less than some of my smaller tattoos I had gotten elsewhere! And with that being said, the quality is still never compromised for the good price. Overall each time has been a great experience at In the Blood... I went to see CC Daniel's at in the Blood Tattoo. I made an appointment beforehand & sent…read morereferences of a design she had already done before with edits that I wanted that would make the tattoo more personal for me. The most important thing for me was requesting curly hair on this character as a person of color, I just wanted something that I could identify with. When I came in for my appointment, CC presented me with a design that incorporates all of the changes I asked for except for the curly hair. I asked about this and she said she would fix it. When I came back to the room, she had in fact not updated her stencil, but instead tells me that she can just work with the reference and do what I had asked originally. I have never been more upset at trusting a professional with more than 20 years of experience. The end result is a hair design that is not at all what I asked for and I cannot understand how much you would have to dehumanize someone to pretend to do what I consented to but permanently etch squiggles instead. I tried very hard to be open to the change but at the end of the day it's not the composition or design that I requested. They immediately have you fill out paperwork when you come in to waive away any right for legal pursuit, so I know there isn't much I can do, but I want to prevent this from happening to anyone else as I am looking forward to having this design lasered off as soon as it heals. I have had good experience with In The Blood in the past but I do not recommend this artist CC Daniels if you are a person of color requesting anything Afrocentric as she does not have the skill set, but will pretend she does and give you something you didn't ask for.
