What a hidden gem of a bakery!!! They have the freshest breads, the tastiest veggie quiches, and friendliest staff!! Thanks to blogTO, I learned about their Japanese milk bread. And it's sooooo fluffy, soft and delicious. I'm definitely coming back!!!

Service - Japanese bakery with very friendly staff. Always smiling and very welcoming to everyone! They give off a homey feel when you walk in as well. Food - It's very tasty! I'd recommend going if you're in the area. It's quite far from most people... but worth it if you're near by. They have very simple sandwiches and soups but they're very fresh and the bread they use changes as well! Their spinach bagels are probably the best though. They always bring new fresh ones out that are amazing. Price - Very well priced. The full meal is almost always around $10 only! Soup plus the sandwich are around $11 and go very well together. Atmosphere - The decor is a bit old now but that's from the 10+ years of customers! It's still got a very homey and welcoming feel.

"Hearting over this sweet little gem in Etobicoke!" What time we arrived/Wait time? I always go here during school (humber lakeshore) and it is almost always busy during lunch times because of obvious reasons. There is a lot of student seating outside and in the nearby student centres so if it was busy it wasn't an issue to just do take out! Atmosphere? It's a small cafe/bakery type place. It is such a warm atmosphere with lots of yellow and woody tones. It is a simple and sweet place. Service/Staff? The staff here are just amazing. They are all Japanese and I feel somehow related or a family. It feels that way because the way they speak to all their customers and work together is so kind and polite. They put customers first and maintain a lot of close relationships with all their customers who are regulars. They work hard and diligently with a smile. Food/Menu/Pricing? The food here is fantastic. I always get their broccoli soup with a chicken teriyaki sand which. All their breads are fresh and so soft/supple. There is something different about their quality... it is soooooo good. Like bread on steroids lol. The flavours and ingredients are simple and fresh yet they just explode with healthy flavour. This is one of those places you feel good about yourself after you eat their food! They also sell 3rd party items like jam made from scratch from a nearby farm and breadcrumbs, etc. LOVE it here.

Review Highlights - Tatsu's Bread

It's a great place to go during lunch time when you're at school (since the bakery is right by Humber Lakeshore).

I follow them on IG and noticed they were having a sale so I put in an order for twelve. In the box, the flavours I chose were: pistachio, birthday cake, toasted coconut, chocolate hazelnut, cotton candy, pink champagne, salted caramel, lemon meringue, tiramisu, mango passionfruit and bubblegum. Salted Caramel - decent Pink Champagne - too sweet but was very fresh when I cut into it. Cotton Candy - my favourite flavour hands down. Toasted Coconut was very tasty - had a light and fluffy cream. Could taste the coconut but it was also very sweet. Lemon Meringue - really good when cold. Hint of lemon. Bubble gum - so yummy!! Had it cold too. Bit right into it and it flaked everywhere. The flavour was delicious though I was left with blue lips and tongue. Mango Passionfruit - so so good. Enjoyed it! Pistachio - another good one. Nutty. Tiramisu - would've paired well with coffee as it had a subtle coffee flavour to it. Birthday Cake was also good but very sweet. And the chocolate hazelnut was okay. I halved the macarons to be able to sample them and ended up trying three flavours on the day I bought them and eating three more on the last day before polishing them off. They're rich in ingredients and taste. They're pretty costly but worth trying at least once. They came in a pretty box too.

There was only one worker that catered to the guests in terms of cashing them out and making the food and drinks. She did really well in serving guests in a timely manner. I ordered the truffle avocado grilled cheese and a matcha latte and enjoyed both. They have a variety of food and drink options for you to choose from. I definitely will be coming back to try more of their items! Overall, its a cute small quaint cafe which I would say is a hidden gem!

My new favourite cafe for baked goods. I work in the area,…read moreso I'm always looking for new bakeries and pastries to try, to enjoy with my coffee during my break. Black goat is no stranger to me. I visited this cafe only a handful of times more than 5 years ago, as I was not working in the area yet but would come down for meetings. During this time I distinctly remember they had an Oreo cheesecake cookie that was aaaaamazing. So amazing, I never forgot about it, 5+ years later lol. Well I came back this year, sad to find out they were no longer selling it. So on my first visit, I decided just to get a chocolate chip cookie. To my surprise, I actually really liked it. I'm very picky with my chocolate chip cookies. The bonus was the price point. It was only $2 something for a delicious, generously sized cookie. On one of my most recent visits a conversation was sparked with the owner. I thought it was appropriate as I was in there so often, I should at least learn her name lol. I learned so much from her and all the struggles she faces as a small business during these times of COVID and inflation. The owner is soooo nice and sweet. Okay this review is getting so long lol let me tell you about some of the other treats. Which again, her price points are so refreshing during these expensive times. Banana chocolate chip muffin- I don't like these, but I love them at black goat. The muffin top has the slightest crunch and they use chopped Belgian chocolate instead of chocolate chips. All this makes it's so delicious and so different than any other banana chocolate muffin I've tried. Carrot muffin- again that slight crunch on the muffin top is such a winner. And the muffin is not too sweet, like those store bought one. It tastes fresh, like your actually getting a serving of vegetables lol making you feel even better about eating a muffin. New menu item, croissants - so wonderful! It has the perfect slightly crunchy outer layer while the inside is so soft and all around buttery. AND great news, the Oreo cheesecake cookies are coming back this week!! Back by popular demand, she informed me that these were coming back, as she was rolling out a whole load of new bakery items. (Brownies, hello dolly bars, other cookies) I'm sooooo excited, take all my money! Hot tip: all baked goods are 50% off after 1:30! This place is going to be a problem because I was already here 3 times in one week....even twice in one day. Hahaha. I love supporting local :)
