We recently went to Fairway Knolls Veterinary Hospital with David Tatro. We had two cats at the time. One of them was very, very sick, and David Tatro did what he could for her. She had been bleeding out of her mouth from a defect, but was also very weak from kidney disease. He gave her some fluids and medicine, and he was very understanding about our finances. Besides that, he was kind enough to see that a bath would upset her rather than help, so he decided not to give her one.
When she died, he was clearly saddened by it, despite having known her only briefly and having expected that she would die. He called us each morning to see how she was, and he eventually cremated her for us.
We also took our other cat in to see him. We had thought the cat had ear mites, but Dr. Tatro had enough experience to see that what we had thought were mites were actually yeast infections. He gave us medicine for it with specific instructions. The medicine was pretty cheap (about $20) and should last long enough. My cat's ears are improving.
Overall, the prices were good ($45 for a visit, $50 for cremation, $20ish for each medicine) and the staff were considerate and helpful. Dr. Tatro himself was very kindhearted and did his best for us. read more
