In earlier times, they would have displays of samples and you could try the ones available with chips or pretzels. They also used to have wings they would cook on the grill outside using a specific sauce they were spotlighting. Great place to find a new favorite or gifts for those who adore sauces like me!! They lose a point for the seafood section having a slight smell to it - but otherwise it was a great stop really close to our rental place. It did feel like the produce section was slightly limited compared to the larger chains in the area - but I get that it's probably a smart financial decision. Prices for some things were higher (produce) but cheaper for a few things I found. I couldn't find impossible or beyond beef for a dish, and the international section was really limited. On the plus side, they had an awesome display of items you need to cook your turkey (both disposable and non-disposable turkey trays, a few different meat thermometers, a great baster, a marinating bag) - I ended up grabbing a the whole kit here to cook my turkey and it came out great. If I lived in the area, I don't think I could make this be my one-stop grocery shopping - but I would work hard to incorporate it into my shopping.

I arrived about eight minutes before opening and found a line already stretching along the side of Crooked Hammock. Like anyone else, I walked to the end of the line. As I crossed the parking lot with my dog on a leash, the woman stationed at the entrance looked directly in our direction, yet said nothing. Only after the line began moving and I had waited to reach the entrance was I told that dogs are not allowed in the market. I was then directed to a sign posted at the entrance. I explained that because I had joined the line from the back, I never passed the entrance and therefore never saw the sign. When I asked why no one had mentioned the policy when I first joined the line, I was told they hadn't seen me. That was surprising, since I had clearly seen the attendant looking our way. This is an outdoor venue, and as I was approaching the market I had even seen another leashed dog walking through the parking lot, so there was nothing to suggest pets weren't permitted. I completely respect the market's right to have a no-dogs policy. My disappointment isn't with the rule itself, but with how it was communicated. After waiting in line, it was frustrating to be turned away when a simple heads-up as I arrived could have saved everyone the inconvenience. If dogs are prohibited, the market should post signs where people join the line or at multiple locations around the parking area so visitors can see the policy before waiting. I had every intention of supporting the local farmers, and unfortunately I left without being able to do so.

Our wedding was on Halloween and we really wanted to embrace the spirit of the Holiday so we looked for a baker that was willing to get creative with cake decoration. To make things more challenging we needed the cake to be vegan as I (the Bride) live a Vegan lifestyle. We were having a difficult time trying to find a baker that could accommodate a vegan wedding cake and those who said they could started asking us for recipes. We were getting pretty worried. By pure luck, we discovered Bella's Cookies through a friend of the family. We discovered that Kelly Leishear is not only a fantastic baker but also an extremely creative one. She went above and beyond to give us the Beetlejuice/Halloween look we wanted, even going so far as to take sculpting lessons to create the beautiful and incredibly accurate fondant Sandworm that decorated our black and white striped wedding cake. The cake was decorated with bright green vegan white chocolate drips, purple piped icing, and topped off with vegan sprinkles and glitter. The cake itself was a bright, lime green lemon cake that tasted as good as it looked! Can't forget the cupcakes! We let Kelly know that we were going to decorate the cake table with mini blacklights so it would be really fun if the icing was bright so it would react to the blacklight. Boy did she deliver! The cupcakes were a mix of different flavors decorated in bright orange, green, purple, and red icing, and topped with Halloween sprinkles and glitter. Some of the cupcakes had fun, surprise icing colors in the inside. For example, you bit into a cupcake with green icing and you find orange in the middle. Kelly really thought about the fine details. Kelly was also great at giving us advice on how to get the cake we wanted within the limits of our budget. She really went above and beyond to work with us and give us advice on how to best display our cake and cupcakes. She got to know my family as we ordered cupcakes and cookies from Bella's Cookies for the Bridal Shower and Rehearsal Dinner. Kelly even anticipated the need for a small amount of Gluten Free cupcakes for my brother's family before even I did. We look forward to ordering our anniversary cake next year Our wedding day was absolutely the best day of our lives and the cake and cupcakes were a perfect addition to that day. We can't thank Kelly Leishear enough and we highly recommend Bella's Cookies!
