It is Iced Milo drink with undissolved Milo powder on top. 2. Teh Tarik ($5.99). This is an off-menu item, only available when they are not busy. It was airy and slightly sweet - just right. The airiness is due to the tea (teh) pulling (tarik), back and forth. 3. Kaya Butter Toast ($4.99). There was a general amount of Kaya (coconut jam) and little slab of butter. My son had all of it so I didn't get to try it! 4. Nasi Lamak with Fried Chicken ($18.99). This is one of a Malaysian favourite dish. The skin on the chicken was so crispy and the chicken was juicy and tender. The Sambal sauce is slightly spicy and slightly sweet. The rice was soaked in coconut milk and steamed in pandan leaves. There were the traditional anchovies, peanuts, and eggs. 4. Bak Kut Teh (daily special, $28.99). The soup was good. There were several parts of pork in it, including a nice rib and pork belly. The whole dish was delicious! It comes with a bowl of rice and some chilli sauce. The owner/chef is from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He had a stall there for 20 years. There is no free WiFi. Nasi Lemak - Their signature dish...! It was with fried chicken where it felt overly fried, and the meat was not much to enjoy.. While there, it appears the owners weren't consistent with their times of how long they wish to stay open or not as they would either run out of stuff, or they didn't feel like working which isn't exactly a good vibe for customers... They'd say they run out of things, but possibly the cook just didn't want to prepare more as it'll take time... Overall, I can see now they have some more dishes to try that weren't on the menu originally, so possibly there may be improvements... Our go to Malaysian place is still downtown Canteen as we find they have best taste for Nasi Lemak and Chow Kuay Teow among other dishes as well...Pricing is less and the quality and taste is authentic! I can say for sure my experiences with service and spice level are different from my first visit. They're super friendly here and provide such wonderful service, even when ordering a simple lunch special. Very nice place to dine in too. And the spice is VERY hot here. I really enjoy spicy food and I can say that even the standard 'hot' here can really test my limits. The roti is fantastic, as are the doubles. Love this place and a major bonus to have in this side of town.
