The staff are lovely and really keen to help you to decide what you want, and will offer recommendations if you want. If you go, try one of the bento boxes - so that you can try two main courses!! I and a small group of friends which over time has varied from as little as 4 to a max of about 12 over a 10 year period always eating in the restaurant usually on a Tuesday evenings. There has NEVER been a time when every one of us has not totally enjoyed the experience of eating good food always freshly cooked, good service and a very reasonable bill at the end, No comparison with large Chinese buffet style places like exist in my native Bristol where food has been in trays on a hotplate probably all day.

The restaurant is located on Henley high street and is close by to pubs which is ideal for a pre dinner drink. The restaurant is small and cosy with several rooms and is authentically decorated. The menu is mouth watering and after deliberating for a while I opted for the duck spring rolls and soy sauce. A great start to the evening meal. Next up was Thai Prawn curry with Jasmine rice and I hardly muttered a word to my partner other than mouthing ummmm's and 'tasty'! All of the dishes were presented beautifully with flowers carved out of vegetables. The service was top notch, with the waiters and waitresses being attentive and friendly. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to others, and look forward to dining there again in the near future.

Overall, we were very impressed: service was polite and efficient; the food was some of the best Thai we've had in the UK (my Tom Kha Hed soup with a selection of wild mushrooms was outstanding); and at just over £30 a head for two courses, including drinks and service, we though it very good value for money. The interior is full of authentic, heavily carved furniture and architectural fittings, each table having a glass top to see a scene in carved relief beneath. WOW! This place has the WOW factor! It has recently reopened…read more(Used to be called the Golden Cross) and it is ace! Lots of snooks - some with armchairs, all with open fires make this a great place for chilling out with friends, or someone special. The whole building is made of solid wood - it really gives the idea of a quality place. The staff are pretty friendly and welcoming, and tables are cleared quickly. The garden is MASSIVE! and again, all solid wood furniture and decking - it really looks like a quality place. There are no heaters in the garden, but in the summer, it will be a complete sun trap and I think it will be busy! The toilets are up two flights of stairs, so don't leave it until you're desperate!!! This is a Samuel Smiths pub, and as such, don't expect to get anything that is branded in this pub - but actually, it's nice to have a change and Samuel Smiths' cider is lovely..!!
