The food though, is way better than Nando's... Anyone who's been to Nando's more than a few times must have realized that when the chips are cooked, they put them on plates under the 'hot' lamps until your chicken is cooked. Not only does this result in really soggy luke-warm chips, but you can actually watch your chips going soggy and cold as the plates are visible from the restaurant. Nothing more irritating. You literally look at your chips sitting on a plate for ten minutes before they add your chicken to it. The plate is then delivered to your table, you test the chips to confirm your suspicions, and hey presto! They're grim and cold. No such problems at Chilli Peri Chicken. Also, their rice is much much nicer than the Nando's alternative, as its got loads of great spices and veggy bits giving it a real full flavour. Portions are big at Nando's, but they're even bigger here. The fizzy drinks here are fizzy rather than flat, so they haven't copied Nando's in this regard. I strongly recommend this place. Nando's is well popular and I'm actually a fan myself despite its problems, but Chilli Peri Chicken is literally the same thing, but better. Hot Chicken mmmmm... P.S. The pizzas come in two sizes, 9 and 7, perfect for one. Prices start from just under £3 for pizzas. Subway is a brand that needs no introduction because of this, so I will move onto my regular review. This branch of Subway is one of two stores in the town center of Oldham, this one being a Kiosk in the Lower Mall of the Spindells shopping center, it often doesn't seem really busy and there is a limited amount of seating too, it is near enough located right in the center of the mall, so the views for people watching are okay, but it is Oldham so it isn't exactly the place you would go to people-watch. It did seem quite quiet on my visit, and I originally thought they were closed before I was served by the supervisor, she seemed quite nice. I ordered a Subway Melt on Hearty Italian bread, which sadly wasn't gluten free but I decided to try it anyway after being told to introduce a small amount of gluten back into my diet. As I've not eaten at Subway since before my diagnosis, which probably is a good 4-5 years now, I was happy to finally try it again, I was pleased that most of the toppings tasted okay, and fresh as with the motto of Subway. The food was presented quite well, and made quickly infront of me, as with any Subway, and it seemed to be a typical Subway in that regard. Overall, this is quite a pretty average Subway, yet one of the better places to eat in Oldham for a sandwich, especially if you are in a rush and still want something decent quality, with food before previously at Rhode Island Coffee and Mcdonald's being inconsistent across multiple visits in terms of quality, the pricing was also quite reasonable at £3.50 for a 6" sub and a drink, or an extra £2 for a "footlong" despite the fact it is over 12" and as far as I'm aware for it to be officially a footlong it should be 14" This Subway deserves a solid 3 stars, as it is basically average, perhaps slightly above that, some issues such as the lack of seating, atmosphere and issues with the Subcard registration, where you have to have a password with a character such as £ or ! and a capital and lower case letter, as well as only having one subcard and it didn't let me activate another on my account, and the whole system seemed a mess, however as this isn't down to this branch in particular, it doesn't play a big part in my rating of a three.

PRO TIP: Despite being a meat restaurant Nando's do NOT have mayonnaise, stocking a vegan alternative instead, offering a perinaise (peri-peri mayo) as a paid sauce, so if you're looking for regular mayo, head into Tesco beforehand.
