I went here with my family during the First Friday market in Tarpon Springs, so it was pretty busy. The atmosphere was exciting & fun, but the large crowd affected the service quality a bit. Our waitress was attentive until our food came out, but after that, she didn't really check up on us. We tried to get her attention for five minutes to have her fill our water glasses, since she hadn't done so all night. As for the food, the tempo of serving was good. Our appetizers came out pretty fast, & our entrees came out a bit less promptly. For appetizers, we got the Greek Cigars, which I really enjoyed! They tasted like a mix between a spanakopita & a mozzarella stick, which was unique & delicious. The lemon aioli dip was very lemon-forward; a bit too much for my preferences. We also got the Buffalo Cauliflower, which was great! Those had a strong buffalo taste, but weren't overpoweringly spicy. The Pretzel Bites had a good flavor, a reasonable amount of salt, & they were a good level of crispy. The creamy cheese dip was okay; the flavor wasn't very prominent. I got the Chicken Caesar Wrap with House-Made Kettle Chips, & I thought it was great! The chips were very thin & flaky, & I'd never had chips quite like that, but I enjoyed them. The chicken & lettuce tasted super fresh, & the wrap was sufficient. It wasn't very saucy, but it didn't necessarily need more. My friend got the Fish and Chips, & said they were definitely a highlight. The batter was heavily seasoned & the fish was flaky & tasted very fresh. My parents shared the Jägerschnitzel with Potato Pancakes (a seasonal item on their Oktoberfest menu), & described it as essentially a panko-breaded fried pork cutlet with a mushroom sauce. Not 100% authentic but tasty nonetheless. The potato pancakes were thick & fluffy; a nice addition to the dish. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Tarpon Tavern. Tarpon tavern is one of my favorite places in downtown tarpon. Their food is delicious and their prices good as well. Their sweet Thai chili chicken and sliders are my favorite!!! Their beer cheese soup for Oktoberfest was amazing as well. They recently turned their patio into a sunroom which is nice for Florida. The owner/manager is very friendly and they always seat quickly. read more

We visited on Fish Tuesdays, which is a great time to visit. Their fish is lightly breaded (awesome) and fresh and flaky. Like some people I know. The potato petals (hard to call them fries as they're a cut above anything I've ever seen in potatoe form) were hot and tasty. Like one person I know. And their coleslaw had just the right amount of tanginess to it, and was a perfect compliment to our meal. We sat at the bar and had excellent service from Lisa...she made our visit even better by being congenial, friendly and efficient. Def a must visit when in Tarpon Springs. Popped in here on a Thursday evening based on Yelp reviews and the fact that they have buffalo cauliflower - one of my favorite things, especially when it's served in a skillet. And it was worth the trip over. The cauliflower was crispy and spicy and comes with a great homemade ranch. The menu is a little British, a little Greek, a little Asian, a little Mexican and a little American. So you'll definitely find something for everyone here. I decided on the sweet chili wings. The sauce on them was perfect. Sweet but with a little heat - it comes with ten wings which is a great portion for the price. Perfectly crispy. Was able to try the kettle chips and twister fries from others in the table and both were great as well. Visited this location for lunch while on a girl's trip vacation. Really cute restaurant with outdoor seating and sidewalk seating. There is also inside seating with a nice bar, but the weather was perfect for outdoor dining during our visit. I and one of my friends got the smash burger with twisted fries. The burger was good, but could use more seasoning. The fries were AWESOME and had a crunchy texture. My other friend got the flat bread with grilled chicken and balsamic dressing and it was sooooo good! One other got a gyro with fries and bragged about how delicious it was. Service was kind of slow, but they were really busy. One older waitress appeared to be somewhat nasty to our waitress which is why we think she got distracted. Really was hoping this was going to be a great spot but unfortunately it was ehhhhh. Never had a chicken sandwich that tasted like a tempura batter. Twister fries tasted like they were cooked in the same oil as fish. Husband said the sliders were just ok & wouldn't go back for them. Nice outdoor patio area! This restaurant was perfect for the Father's Day mood we were in. The nacho appetizer was really good as were all the mains we ordered. This is one of the few dog friendly places in Tarpon Springs. I really enjoy the food, ambiance, and service here at the Tarpon Taproom. We have been going here consistently for the past few weeks and each time our food has been great. We usually get the Dang Dang shrimp. I wish the portion were larger for the price- but that's the economy for you. They are so "dang" good though. We have tried a variety of things and they have all been good. From the burgers, the bowls, the wings and the Greek "taco," we would order them all again- and we do. The service is always quick and friendly. The servers seem to enjoy their jobs here and it shows. We have only tried the beer here so I do not know how the mixed drinks are but the bar is usually full to partially full on Saturday afternoons. We will continue coming here as we thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and the food. I feel we get a good meal for the money and try at is important nowadays! Recommend you give it a go if you are in the area. We like to make a day of it and hang out in downtown Tarpon and shop and go to the Replay Museum/Arcade and play all the retro arcade games. Plan your visit because on some days they have really good specials. Like Mondays $6.99 Smash Burger after 4pm, Tuesdays BOGO Fish and Chips, Thursdays BOGO Fajitas. Because, 1. When my local friends told me about the fish and chips deal, I was thinking, how good can that be? and imagined something like Long John Silver's. Boy, was I wrong! They do use good fish, and a big plank of it! The batter is delicious, and if you are gluten free or don't like fried food, you can get it grilled!! They also have a great selection of local, domestic and import beers. You can even get a flight if you like. Their regular menu have a good variety of other dishes too - everything from quesadilla and tacos, to burgers and wings, to salad and rice bowls. Pretty easy to find something for everybody, and large groups don't faze them, the friendly and efficient waitstaff gets you all taken care of fine. Wonderful casual restaurant in Downtown Tarpon Springs. It look led like an European Pub from the outside, but serves a nice array of dishes. Food - I had the Smash Burger which was amazing. It was as good as mine and mine are incredible . My husband had the the Greek Taco and he enjoyed it very much! We both had the twisty fries as the side item. My husband loved them. I wanted to, but I prefer hand cut original fries(I did eat them however) Ambiance - very nice atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating. Even the restrooms were clean and tidy. Service - our server was fast efficient and very attentive. The only thing we wish he had done was tell us about the special which was the Fish and Chips that were half off. This restaurant is conveniently located around a bunch of other restaurants, bars and a brewery in Tarpon Springs, Florida. We knew the restaurant didn't take reservations so got there a little early hoping to put our names in for a table outside. We were hoping it was a text based reservation system so we could pop over to the nearby brewery to wait but alas, just a shout your name kind of place. We were told the wait would be about 25 minutes, but 45 minutes later our table still wasn't ready. We were told it would still be a "long time yet" for a table outside so we ended up switching to inside. We were bummed because the big, well lit patio was part of the reason we picked this spot! Our table of 6 was provided 2 menus and it took awhile for our server to come over and grab our drink order. Service in general was pretty slow. They may have been short staffed as it seemed like our server had a ton of tables. Service wasn't super friendly either, again, I think the busy-ness played into that as well. There was an issue with one of our appetizers that our server caught before she even dropped it off and already had another complimentary one on the way which was really thoughtful! Food is traditional pub fare so easy for a group with different tastes. They do offer a "beyond burger" which the vegetarians and vegans in our group appreciated. I will come back and try the patio again at some point but probably not anytime soon! read more

We plan on going back on our next visit and definitely will try the burgers that everyone around us seemed to get. Mediterranean food-Check American food-Check Mexican food-Check Seafood-Check Pub food-Check For my appetizer, I ordered the basket of Greek twister fries, which were dressed olive oil, garlic, feta cheese, and Greek oregano. The menu says fries, but really it's potato wedges, that are light, crispy, and soo soo good! My wife got the pretzel bite, which again were delectable to eat. We will 100% be ordering these again on my next visit! For my main course, I ordered the Pub Burger, with house made kettle chips. The burger was cooked to my preference (med rare), and was spot on. I ate this burger without ketchup, as it was plenty moist from the meat, cheese, and vegetables. If you're hungry and nothing else looks good, order this. You won't be disappointed in this Pub staple. The chips were light and crispy, and bland, almost like an afterthought. A dash of salt perked these right up, and were a joy to eat. The atmosphere is louder than I would prefer, personally, but I was able to clearly hear everyone at my table. The service was great, in my opinion. They were helpful and friendly.
