I've always had both good in-store and drive-up shopping experiences at this location. Also, to me, it seems to be better inventory stock than other Targets; the app usually recommends the Route 22 as a nearby location that has what I'm looking for. Target staff who bring out drive-up orders have always been friendly, too. The only con is driving here, but once you get into the lot, there's ample parking. read more

Always a bit mixed when I come here. There are some great, consistent deals, but service varies. The drive-up is usually efficient, I like it and there are at least 6 spots available and you don't have to carry anything out yourself - but check your items. Sometimes they sub out items like a generic Up and Up brand but I'm still charged for the brand name (once happened to me with Motrin vs Up&Up). Going in - store can be very busy or dead depending on the day. Oftentimes self-checkout is efficient when all the machines are working, but usually 1-2 seem to always be down when I go in. Inventory online can be suspect. Sometimes it's not updated fast enough in the app or they say they have it, but even looking in the back they can't find it... so yeah, inconsistent there. Service at the counter - if you're lucky and it's not busy, great! But more often than not, when returning or picking up, if it's busy, they're often understaffed and you wait a long time.. not happy at that. Recycling bins by the service counter. I am sure that there are plenty of people that have amazing experiences here, as well as people that have a bad one. This as you can imagine is a terrible one. A while back while my kid was still on formula, we tried using coupons for it here. Now for those of you that have kids on formula, those coupons are a God Send! Formula is about 30-45 ish a cannister depending on the brand... And the coupons for that are usually amazing! like $10 off, $5 off or buy 1 get 1 half off or something like that, usually an amazing deal... My wife went in with a coupon that expired the day before, and the cashier said how could you even think of trying that coupon... She walked right out, we went to Walmart, and they took it no issue. If this was $1 off or something insignificant, Id move on, but $10 off is huge! All the other targets that we went to never had an issue with an expired children's coupon... Other than that, its a target... Even if we are in the area again, I'd avoid shopping here. If you need food, there is a Lidl across the street, and its much cheaper! If you need anything else, go to Walmart! I do hope that others have a better experience than we did here. read more

The Union Target is one of my favorite targets to shop, and it's perfect for those times when I just want to browse or have time to spare. There's always plenty of parking, and the store is usually well-stocked with everything I need. The staff are friendly and helpful. I was scammed on a Visa Giftcard bought at this location in Nov 2021. The card was already used in California before the recipient tried to use it. Unfortunately, the store couldn't give me the missing money so I was out $100! I did speak w the mgr and security. The mgr was extremely nice but in the end there was zero he could do. They can only help if it is a Target card but not a third party giftcard. I think all the same giftcards should have been removed and replaced since this one clearly was part of a scam. Horrible location. Went into this location a few months ago to return a rice cooker I purchased from another store. I was basically told I had to go back to NY to return the item because anything over $100 cannot be returned to the union store. I asked who made this rule and I was told that was always their policy. I told the manager named Donald , I never heard of this policy because any item purchased from a target store can be return to any target store as long as it is not an apple product and he basically refused to assist in returning the item that was actually $99 but the tax made it more than $100. He was very rude about it as well. I also had another incident where I tried to return a bag of dog food that made my dog sick. The corporate office told me to return it to the store and Donald told me I cannot return the bag of dog food because it was opened. He seems to believe he is Mr Target and can make his own rules. He deserves to go and work for a company where he doesn't interact with customers because he has no customer service experience. Horrible man.... read more

I haven't gone into a Target I didn't love until this one! Whoever hired a rude clerk with no customer service as a manager needs to reevaluate. Her employees indicated she's a number on a power trip. If this is Christina's goal in life to be a manager this is as far as she'll go. You're not disrespectful to customers and not willing to help because the store was getting ready to close, you help them to grab the one item they came in for so they could leave quickly. I hate anything on Route 22. This highway is like a deathtrap. The store is huge inside. But poorly lit and super dim in there. However, the actual store seems decent. The employees are available here and there sporadically. Things are where they should be. It wasn't overly messy with things where they shouldn't be or misplaced. This Target sucks! I tried to purchase an item that was on clearance and the item rung up as price not available. So I was brought to the customer service desk where this woman very rudely ignored my issue and told me it was full price when it was on clearance. I even showed her a photo of my friends reciept who purchased it for 70% off but she still wouldn't allow it and helped another customer when my need wasn't met. I had a small accident while preparing my wife's favorite meal and cut my finger while dicing onions. My in-laws purchased us these amazing Gunter Wilhelm culinary cooking knives for Christmas and they sure are sharp. Unfortunately, when I cut my finger I lost some blood and was not certain as to how to clean the stains. The customer service at target was extremely helpful as I had certain questions on the clean up. They recommended Honest's brand free and clean laundry detergent to get the stains out of the carpet, pine sol for the hardwoods located upstairs, first floor and the basement and instaclean Home & Auto Pre-treat Stain & Odor Remover for the upholstery and furniture. This was the first Target that I've ever went to when I was a child, considering it was the closest from my area at that time. Before then, it was called Target "Greatland", which simply meant it had a higher variety of merchandise, but no major grocery section like what a SuperTarget would have. But of course ever since a "fresh grocery" section was added, "Greatland" was removed. Now, whenever I'm in the area, and I need to buy something in which I know is on sale (like recently - a DVD), I come here to get it. Beyond stupid. I stopped in to pick up a gift for an upcoming event. There was no one at the jewelry counter. Finally someone came up and said he had to go get a key. I continue to wait. So, I actually called the store from the jewelry counter and they said; "oh yes we will have someone right over". Then the same guy came back up to me without a key. I said go get the manager. The manager said someone who had the key left. One key?!?!? Do you mean to tell me there's only one key in the whole store for numerous cabinets and that means you can't sell any jewelry at all?! I love Target. However, anywhere where customer service is subpar, I am immediately turned off. As a group, their team members/staff are rude here and have a full on attitude and demeanor that they are better than you. They do not get out of their way to assist their customers and are not courteous. For example, they don't even explain why a coupon doesn't not work when I've looked thoroughly at the coupons & their store policy regarding them (other people have used them!)..they just push you around & say, it doesn't work..without any clear explanation or further investigation. Computers & systems are not always correct..duh! They also hardly ever have any staff around the floor, if you ever needed help. Overall I am not a fan of Target at least for its department store merchandise but do like it for some of its groceries. I almost always stop there for the latter as opposed to the former, and the Target on Route 22 in Union, N.J., is most convenient to my travels even though there's another Target in the town where I live. I post here mainly to praise Union Target's staff, a friendly, helpful bunch. For example, last time I could not find an item the clerk I asked for help led me to its location as opposed to just pointing in the direction and leaving me to wander alone. This Target location is in the heart of Route 22 with plenty of parking space. Most of the workers are friendly and I have never had a problem. There are plenty of selections and the items are organized. Customer Service hooked us up during Christmas shopping when they price match an item that was on sale at Walmart. The reason for four stars is because of the registers. The lines could be backed up and there would only be two registers open. Not really sure what the problem is but it always happens when I go shopping here. if they fix this issue I will update my rating. That is only if they fix this issue. read more

I love this target location. It is so convenient as it is close to my home. It is a mini supermarket, and whenever I forget something at the supermarket I go to Target and they have what I need. The place still looks newly renovated and the managers are very helpful and generous. Besides food they have so many other things I use in my house and they are almost never out of stock. This is by far the worst Target that I have ever been to..and I've been to my share! My husband works very close to this place and my gym is in the same parking lot so I end up in here regularly. Whether I come here on a Monday morning or a Saturday afternoon there is guaranteed to be only one register open. I find myself getting rung at the food court just to avoid the long wait. There are two incredibly friendly people that work here (one with long gray hair and the other with dreads) but that's the only good thing I have to say. I've never been so disappointed. I ordered something Ship to store and have yet to receive it three weeks later. I don't understand why it hasn't gotten there so I call the target website and I'm told that it was shipped to the store on the 15th. It is now the 23rd. I called the number for main target 800 number to ask why my date keeps getting pushed, the rep had said that they were going to try to see what's going on. They called the store and whoever they spoke to you, said that it was there and that I can go pick it up. I asked if they were sure that I could pick it up and I made sure that it was the correct store, and they said yes it would be OK and that it would be there. When I get out of work, I just want to go home I am seven months pregnant and I don't want to go to the store but I really wanted my item. I get there, and they said that they can't find it. That I must be mistaken and have the wrong store. I called the 800# again in my car in the parking lot and they said that it's there but that I shouldn't of gone to go pick it up. I went yesterday 11/30/16 at 4:30am in search for an item that is on every kids list this year. Another lady and man were there as well as we were told 2 items (Exclusive) were available. Around 6am I saw an employee going into the store and asked how many of the items were available since more than 2 people are lined up waiting for the same item. He said he didn't work at the store and the item I was looking for is not available anywhere within 100 miles. I found that odd bc a few targets had them available. He came out 15 minutes later with a lady with blond hair who said she was a manager and said she didn't want to waste our time and the item is not available. We asked how sure she was and she said 100%. I went into my car and waited a bit. Called around 7:30am and they said the same thing so I left. I later called at 915am and asked if the item was available she said it's not available that they received 2 that morning and sold out as soon as they opened. I was confused to what happened. Why would they do this to us? We were there early and waited patiently. I believe an employee ended up purchasing the item. Today 12/1/16 I went again to this same target at 5:30am. Another man was there waiting for the same item that was available. At 4:15am we saw the item became in stock at the store that's why we got their early so we can get what we need. I knocked on the door and the so called manager "Clara" says it's 5:40am and the truck is unloading and she knows the item is not available. I stayed because of what happened to me yesterday. So did the other man. She came back out with someone at 7:25am and she said I already told you the item is not available. I told her what I encountered the day before and didn't want that to go through that today. She said she is the manager and she saw everything unload. How can you explain that for 2 days in a row you have 2 items each day and the first day it sold to someone right after I left and today you don't have it. Another manager approached me and said he would look. He was very professional and seemed to want to help us find what we came in for. He said it shows that 2 items are in stock and showing available in the store but he doesn't know where they are. Maybe someone walked out with them. I don't understand how they don't know or can't keep track of this. I suggest corporate/headquarters...store manager...district manager to go and investigate this store. I don't understand how and item can go missing if they checked it in their system to show available and in stock and be gone before they even open the store. To the so called manager "Clara" you may need to go to some customer service training. You don't talk to customers in the way you did and walk away from them. (Especially as a manager). I understand it's early in the morning and I'm sure everyone is looking for what I came for but I did what I needed to do to get to the store early and in time so my kids can be happy this Christmas. There were also a few staff members that were having side convos about us and rolling there eyes to our faces.
