If someone would ask me about if they should go to this Visionworks, I would recommend them. [I wrote a review on this initially that Visionworks made me upset with the experience that I had there and something that I called in about... I was upset because it was an unresolved issue and a negative view. I'm pretty sure that Visionworks was initially unaware that it was an unresolved issue until I wrote a Yelp review; they recently contacted me and resolved the issue; even though the issue happened over a year ago. It, quite frankly, was unexpected that they resolved the issue as they did. The staff here impressed me with their willingness to help and how they handled the situation. I truly want to give 5 stars to them, but I can't since it would be a little strange to go from one extreme to the next. I am impressed with how they handled the situation and it made me happy with this Visionworks enough to completely change my review on here. Everyone there that I spoke with was great. My record was already in the system, I have been to this facility at least 3 times in the past, but was denied today. My birthdate is irrelevant to an eye exam and the purchase of eyeglasses. There were no medical procedures anticipated, I am not using insurance, and no verifications are required. I was prepared to spend up to $1,500. cash today and my wife (who now cancelled) was prepared to do the same. We both lost a great deal today.

I came in for what I scheduled as a routine eye exam and left with unexpected charges I did not…read moreagree to; I have worn contact lenses for over 15 years and specifically told the technician I did not want additional contact lens services, yet I was billed for unnecessary services that resulted in out-of-pocket costs, and at no point was it clearly explained these were separate, non-covered charges; the doctors and techs were professional and pleasant. I will note they were very pushy with upselling me on lasik and telling me to use their surgery center. They kept insisting to get the surgery despite me saying no several times. The front desk experience was the opposite, Abby was dismissive and rude while discussing the surprise charges, which made the situation worse; I also discovered their contact lens pricing is significantly higher than major retailers, with the same brand quoted near $90 that is widely available for around $60 elsewhere; I don't mind paying for services I agree to, but I do mind being billed for services I declined and not being clearly informed about extra costs, and better transparency and professionalism at the front desk would make a big difference.

Where Walmart fails is they staff their Vision Center with Walmart employees, many of which are below par and not very bright. They don't have enough people that know how to adjust your glasses after you buy them, and some of them don't take adjusting glasses seriously or important. Find a different place to buy your glasses.

From the time I arrived at the office they really make you feel like they appreciate you being there and not just a customer. The technician who started the measurements was excellent with her demeanor and professional way of handling the exam. Dr. Trego's assistant explained her part of the exam so that I understood every part of her examination. She was thorough and handled her assignment very professionally, answering a few questions I had. Dr Trego came into the office to complete the exam and was so easy to understand concerning the cataracts and what could be done, it left me with a very confident feeling instead of worry about the unknown. He left me with his card and said to call with any concerns. After leaving the office I told my wife that should be our Eye Exam Office for the future. She agreed.
