They also have a large selection of video games for older consoles. You should definitely avoid Gametraders if you have an addiction for Pop! Vinyl Figures, as they sell hundreds of them, in addition to merchandise for franchises including Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Doctor Who and Star Wars. They also have a large selection of board games and card games, many of which you would not find at most toy and department stores. Gametraders also sells comic books, anime DVDs / Blu-ray's, a small selection of clothing and various video game / TV show props, which would be perfect for cosplay. You will often be able to find items that Gametraders are selling for less online, though they offer convenience and a unique retail experience, which EB Games is finally catching on to, with the launch of their new Zing Pop Culture stores.

Gamestraders has a very clever model based around letting you trade in your old games to help offset of that brand new $100 game YOU HAVE TO HAVE RIGHT NOW. Other game stores do this too, but Gamestraders seems to be a bit more generous with their refund. Don't get me wrong, they then turn around and sell your traded in game for heaps more than they paid you, and it's pure profit (they only have to pay the manufacturer for new games so selling second hand games is heaps more lucrative than selling new). There's a decent range, and parents and partners can feel slightly better about watching their loved one trade in that game that cost a fortune just a week ago (trust me, you never really go back and play a game once you've finished it).

They also have a decent range of tote bags, hats and accessories. I tend to buy my socks on sale (plain black or sports) as I'm not really a sock girl, but they have a very cute range that almost tempted me into the colour spectrum. Their kids range was also extensive and cute, confirming that kids are SO much easier to buy for. As I'd look a bit ridiculous in frilled polka dot socks I stuck to more staid versions.

Like its sister stores,…read moreChermside Supre plays booming pop-techno and pop-rap music at loud volume and the store is packed with aisles of fairly cheaply-made clothing targeted primarily at teenage girls. Though Supre is getting more expensive over the years, the Chermside Supre hasn't skyrocketed prices as the CBD store has. The offering includes some skanky skirts and tops that unfortunate teens wear, but there's also some nicer, more basic options, such as tank and singlet tops as well as skirts an adult could wear out or even to the office. The singlet top range was pretty awesome the last time I visited. I ended up walking out with four singlet tops and two long-sleeved fitted t-shirts. They haven't worn as swiftly as you would expect from Supre, which generally isn't renowned for using top-notch fabric.

Cool* clothes for fat girls…read more Let's expand on that slogan (which isn't their official slogan, because god forbid we actually use the word fat as a descriptive word instead of an insult). The design of some of the clothes is okay, but I'm going to issue a blanket generalisation and say it's all overpriced and poorly made (so wait for sales, 50% isn't uncommon). Their official slogan is "Be styled in sizes 14+", but they should tell the whole truth and call it "Be styled in sizes 14-22 in store and 14-24 online because we pulled XXL from our retail shelves and then put it back in the online store as a compromise when so many people got up in arms about it". Positive: CC don't use that horrid lycra fabric (essentially swimwear fabric) that some plus size brands love (I'm looking at you, Leona Edmiston Plus Size Collection). They use a lot of cotton elastane, poly/viscose elastane, bit of straight polyester - straight poly's fairly horrid but I don't mind anything with the poly viscose elastane tag. Still, the decent items of clothing can often be few and far between. Prices are always preposterous, as CC has a monopoly on the "cool clothes for fat girls" market. They make a killing on shrugs and cardigans because they also sell a lot of sleeveless dresses, and a lot of women hate their upper arms. Too many items on CC's shelves are covered in tacky, ugly sequins and beads. Others are t-shirts with horrendous "Little Miss" prints on them, or Betty Boop prints, or "vintage pin-up" prints (and for lols, the vintage girls in the prints are all slim). To end with another positive: CC usually has at least a couple of items that are on-trend with seasonal fashion, or at least not-far-behind-trend. It's nice to have the opportunity to try their clothes on in retail stores, as a lot of other decent plus-size clothing is only available from international online stores. And if you purchase something online, you can return it to any of CC's retail stores for your refund. It's just a pity that the closest retail stores to the city are here at Chermside, out to Garden City, or Mt Ommaney. I've never even been to Mt Ommaney. Where is that? The girls who work in the retail stores are always really lovely and helpful, so this review should bear no brunt on them. Yet for all the good I associate with CC, there's still more bad, and that's why my friends and I continue to refer to the brand as Sh*tty Chic. I find this place confusing and frustrating every time I go there. They have every shop you could…read morewant, which is probably part of the problem. I always end up parking at the WRONG end of the behemoth single story centre (this is why building up is a good idea) and then need to do a 20 min power walk to my destination. They also seperate major competitors by the length of the centre in some kind of Highlander move (THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE), so if you want to compare Myers vs DJ's you're going to have to walk and walk and walk. My biggest gripe is the addition of paid parking. I had to do last minute wedding shopping (mother of the bride dress, bridesmaids dresses, beauty stuff - all 5 days before because I LOVE ADRENALINE) and ended up dropping about $800 there. When I left we'd been there for about 4 hours and I had to pay for parking!? Mate, here's some free advice, if I'm at your child filled, noisy, confusing shopping centre for 4 hours it's because I'm spending money there, not because I'm kicking it at the food court with my teenage mates. Plus, it's just a blatant money grab. They haven't installed extra parking or more services, they've just decided to take your money. If I was one of the retailers I'd be well pissed as I'm sure I'm not the only customer deciding to go to Indooroopilly when I can't avoid a shopping centre. I ended up sending a ranty email to centre management, and last time I was there I was happy to see that they've introduced validated parking if you spend over $150. Not thrilled though, as I think $50 is enough to warrant free parking and you can't validate at stores, you've got to go find centre management which is no doubt 3 kms away from where you're standing.
