I've never experienced worse customer service in a store. I really like Target in general for great deals and better atmosphere than Walmart or Meijer, but this particular location is truly awful. Drive up service is supposed to be 2 hours or less. I placed my order 3 hours before they closed. It's over 12 hours later and still nothing. I attempted to call the store to follow up but no one is answering the phone in that department. They were able to cancel one of my items but the rest have not been picked? I'm in the hospital about to have twins and it's just beyond frustrating that this is the service I'm experiencing. Their kids clothing are adorable but they never have enough sizes. Being new to the area, Hubs and I visited this Target for the first time on Saturday. We were kind of surprised by the moderately long lines. I can't remember the last time I had to wait in line at a Target. Nonetheless, we had a really friendly cashier named Cameron who made conversation with us while he checked us out. That was really nice of him. Cameron now knows that we enjoy coffee and we now know that he loves pizza and enjoys putting coffee creamer in his milk. Great customer service is a beautiful thing. We purchased about 60% of what we were looking for; 40% was purchased on pure impulse. Target be damned! Easter items were 70-90% off and they had a ton of inventory leftover, even a week after the holiday. My gluttonous self couldn't pass up the bags of mini Snickers for less than $1.10/each. Target had some awesome displays set-up in the home goods area. Their Magnolia Home display was really pretty and the new line of Bohemian inspired home decor was 'oooh & ahhh' worthy, too. Clean store, well-organized, and there seemed to be plenty of employees working in various departments. We'll be back! read more

I came in to get help with my consumer cellular phone, and "Map" said he was available to help me. However, Seaira) (spelling) came in and said it was too late that day for consumer cellular ppl. Suddenly, i hear "map" over the walkie talkie that he is ok if the two gentlemen waiting want to come back after his lunch for help. She was walking away as he said this and didn't know i heard. She came vack and said we have to schedule an appointment, to which i said I'll wait for Map. She said no, i have to schedule an appointment which would, for my availability, be a week from that Thursday. I said, "I heard him say he would take us if we waited", to which she said NO. I told her this again and she said come back and make an appointment, even though i got there at two, they apparently, to her, dont take ppl after 3pm. I said i heard Map say i could meet him afyer his lunch. She said NO, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I said, "why are you being a B". She told me to leave, which i did. On my way out, I run into Map who says he'll meet me at 4pm after his lunch. Apparently when i got there, "Seaira" had told the lady, "Carmen" that i cursed her out and was asked to leave. I've been to this Target a couple of times getting things to move my brother into various dorms and apartments at U of I... They always seem to be out of stock of critical things! This time: all full-sized bedding. How is that possible??? Better to go straight to Bed, Bath & Beyond. With only a few spare minutes, I was a hurried traveler in need of someplace I could go to find a few forgotten items: toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant. I fired up the Yelp app and found that not far from my hotel was a Target. Bastion of dependability and predictability, I jumped in the rental car and found my way to this not-so-new Target, parked, and ventured in. Essentials in hand, I darted back to the register, checked out quickly, and was back out the door to the mostly-empty parking lot and off to my next stop. Super sleek and sexy, it ain't. This Target (not a big Super T) won't win any awards for sparkle and shine, but when a fella needs his teeth to sparkle and shine and his pits to play nice, it's good to know that this Target is anchoring CU with all the expected goodies. read more

When asking an associate where something was located I was told I would just have to find it. When leaving I told the "customer service rep" at the door and his response was "Oh well." read more

Store review: I didn't realize normal Target's still exist. This is not a Super Target, I can tell you that much. So far my experience has been okay, no major complaints except for the small size of the store and limited clearance items. Normal I am use to visiting multiple target's in my area, but this is really the only and closest one which will have to do. By having less items I feel that the clearance items will be less. There is still the occasional 70% off item that can be found but far less. I had no issues with checking out either. I hope that I will continue to find good deals as I visit more to this location. Target has been a godsend to a confused and newly acclimating graduate student. Friendly staff have pointed out everything from dryer sheets to floor lamps to britta filters, often walking me there personally. I admit I'm sucked into Target's lifestyle boutique shtick, and I'm okay with that, especially because their ish is pretty and I wants to feel all bourgeois and satisfied like the clean, shiny people in the advertisements. In short, this place for all its banal corporateness made a confused kid feel slightly more at home, and I ain't gonna fault them for that. read more

Having just moved to Champaign, I was relieved to find a Target within two miles of my new apartment. I smiled as I walked in the front door, because the layout is so familiar, so comforting. I already knew where everything we needed would be. Those items included: -Green pillowcases. -Two garbage cans. -A drain plug for the bathtub. -A computer desk. -A matching bath mat for the one we got at a different Target a few months ago. -Swiffer Wet Jets. These are items I trust that Target will have. Any Target. This Target had roughly 5 packets of pillowcases, none green. No drain plugs. A couple small varieties of garbage cans, one larger can--but no lids. NO LIDS. :p No matching bath mat (though, that might be asking too much). No computer desks. None! Considering their website offers about 15 types, I was really pissed to find no samples whatsoever. I was so aggravated that we decided to go to Home Depot before ever trying to find the last item. Seriously, though. What the hell, Target on Prospect? They did, however, have decorative balls, heinous pink picture frames, awful 2-for-$9 movies, and snacks aplenty. read more

The best part about Target, it's not Wal-mart. I'll gladly pay the extra money to never have to go to Wal-mart for anything. I read the other reviews on here of people complaining about bad customer service, All i have to say is if you want good customer service you do not got to a superstore you go to your friendly mom and pop shop because they know what they are talking about and yes, you will pay more, but it is a small price to pay to support local business and get great service. Superstores do not care about losing one customer or a dozen, because there are always more consumers to replace you. I go to target knowing what I need and knowing that they have it. When I first went here to peruse and see what they had stocked here I was surprised at there small grocery section but that is because the need for a grocery store out here is not a large one, so why waste the resources competing with better grocery stores in a farming state? they won't beat them. So they offer a few staples for convenience for their customers and not a lot of other items. Personally I have always been treated well in this Target but if I go there and I am not is because if someone is really good at customer service they work at a store that pays well for doing a good job. Stores like target you don't get great service because people get paid to show up, not work well. I give them for stars because they meet my expectations of a superstore. read more

Let me start by saying it saddens me greatly to take any stars away from a Target, particularly since I love my Plano, Madison, and Chicago Targets so much, but I must be honest, so here is a list of a few of my gripes: -All their clothes only seem to come in XS or XXL. -They seem wayyyy understaffed. I typically have a 15 minute wait during check out, and yet they have the ability to open more check out lines...what gives?!?!?! -All their eco friendly cleaning products (one of the main reasons I love Target so much) and their food items are picked over and rarely restocked... -Also, their "cheaper" CD and DVD collections are pretty lame-O I love Target!! It has kept me clothed, my room decorated, and my insatiable green thumb happy for years, but this one just makes me a sad panda :( :( read more

Definitely better than the other stores nearby but by no means up to target standards in larger cities. I've stayed away from Target because of their high prices on identical items that are sold at stores within two blocks for much cheaper. I'm always shocked to see an item that's sold for 2.69 at Walmart (regular price) to carry a price tag of 3.99 at Target! Their grocery (Fruits, Veg, Dairy, Deli...) section is very poor in terms of selection. I've bought fresh cutup fruits only to find out their fresh fruit is best for the trash can....cut up some melons and leave them in the fridge for 2 days and you'll see what I'm referring to. Surprisingly, some items are actually cheaper at Target. Their own brand, even when organic, are cheaper than similar selections at other stores. Unfortunately there is no consistency and their supply and prices on popular items constantly change so it's almost impossible to plan your shopping and you just have to go and see what you find. Target's 1 oz. coffee bags cost less compared to the larger bags! lol whaaaaat? Yes! Seven 1.75 oz. bags cost less than a 12 oz. thing of coffee. Not that it's a big saving but 7 individual bags means for fresh coffee compared to a 12oz bag opened for the same amount of time. But, who knows, I'm sure they changed those prices around at the end of the day lol read more

On Saturday the 24th of March I ventured into Target where I purchased some Starbucks to start off my shopping venture. I must add, the Starbucks section is a great touch! As I walked through the store I noticed there were plus size women models in the female section. I proceeded to take a picture because I have literally never seen a plus size model mannequin in a store. As I was taking the picture a couple approached me, and we started chatting about how appealing stores are getting to all body types. Once I made my way around to the gentlemen's side, I was kind of taken back that there were only plus size models on the females side and not the males? Is this for any particular reason? I've never shopped in the guys section, however are there not larger sizes in the men's. Just seems a little odd that they would only be on the females side. read more

First of all, it's Target... need I say more? I love Target! I've been to this one several times since moving here 2 months ago and its always clean, great prices on the food, and friendly service both on the floor and at checkout. They also just opened up a Starbucks right inside the front of the store! Only once I've ordered from them and not had the greatest service (giggly women talking rather than working). This is the slowest Target store I have ever been to. The selection is the same as everywhere else, but 3 times in a row I waited in line to checkout for more than 15 minutes. The first time it was mid-week, mid-afternoon and only 1 checkout lane was open (25 minutes and I walked out). The second time mid-morning and 2 checkout lanes were open (20 minutes), and the third time was a weekend with 4 lanes open (15 minutes). Too frustrating to ever go back considering you can get the same thing (and cheaper) down the street at Wal-Mart or Meijer. read more

While I've always loved Target and shopped there because I thought it was atleast a more ethical big corporation I experienced their horrible customer service practices the other day when I attempted to return a christmas gift. After spending over an hour trying to find a solution with the store and coming up with nothing that left me at all, in the slightest happy, or even the product I wanted, I listened to the customer support associates tell customers numerous different things that I was told was impossible. I was also told that since Target couldn't accomodate my returning two new in box blenders for 1 nicer and more expensive blender then I should try another store. The associates made no assistance to accomodate me or to find any solution. I can't say I will never go back because that's pretty unrealistic but I will certainly buy what I can elsewhere. They certainly need to train associates better so everyone knows their "policies" but more importantly they need to change their policies to be more accomodating to the customer, especially at holiday time. Unfortunately, I don't think my mother in law will ever give me a gift reciept and so every year I will be dealing with this. Although I've never had an issue like this at anywhere other than Target so probably not. read more

I generally do most of my department store shopping at target. That being said, I am often wishing I could have the guts to leave my full cart the checkout counter and walk away due to customer service issues. Apparently this target trains its associates on really, really, really pushing to sell their 5% off credit card. I have been the target on probably at the basis for the last five years of my life. I know about the deal. I always politely say no thank you. In this store I almost always M followed up with a rather long him to get me to change my mind and open their credit card. I pride myself on being a pretty independent-thinking adult and have no problem continuing to say no. The problem I have is that they are so incredibly pushy that it is beyond irritating and straight up rude. If I give you an answer take it as that - my answer. I am a customer I'm already buying products from you. I am not interested in making target my financial institution and getting a credit line from them. As I frequently tell my seven-year-old, "No, means no. It does not mean continue asking me the same question in a different way until I change my answer." This store needs to focus on keeping me as a customer by stocking the shelves well, having good employees and a clean environment. Stop trying to be my banker. You're not very good at it anyway. *to be fair not every associate is like this. Quite often if I get one that is not pushy or doesn't even ask me I will thank them profusely! read more

I have been shopping here for quite some time. Over the past 15+ years (yikes, I am getting old), it has been during the holiday season. So that makes my experience a bit limited. Parking is not typically crazy, but definitely is so on Black Friday and other big shopping days. Target is a major destination as they do offer good sales/specials. In 2014, I remember buying a $100 gift card for $90. Score, since I shop at Target quite often. The store is well organized, easy to find what you are looking for. They do a decent job of navigating the lines on Black Friday so people aren't entirely in the way. Totally on accident though, we discovered that we had jumped the line a bit waiting for checkout. They could have used a few more people watching the line. If we had to go to the end, we probably would have dumped our stuff and left. It was just that crazy. read more

This store is always really clean. The staff is friendly and willing to help you find anything. They could use a few cashiers when it gets busy, but that's every store. This store does customer service really well. Their shelves are always neatly stocked and their cashiers are fast. You can't beat their prices! It's one of my favorite stores. read more

Clothes, but not a huge selection. They just seem to have a bit of everything except not a lot to choose from. I'm finally happy enough to respond to Kara O, now that I no longer work for the company. I was the Andrew she was referring to, and I was the loss prevention manager of the store at the time. I had to plan for approximately 3000 people to enter the store in approximately 20 minutes. Kara and her companion became frustrated with the fact that they could find no way to the exit after they decided they wanted nothing to purchase from the store. After trying to cut under an area heading toward the register, I stopped them and directed them to the exit. They refused to wait another second and demanded cutting under a few blocked off areas. I then explained that this would not happen due to the volume of customers we were dealing with. Again, they insisted that they were going to do as they pleased. After a small argument, they cut under the blocked area, went to the parking lot, and exited the property. By no means was I trying to cause any trouble for the couple. This is the only Target in the CU area, so there are no alternatives to shopping here other than the jankety Mejer across the street, the ever-so-slightly less jankety Mejer over in Urbana, and so forth. I have been to Target stores all over the country, from Oakland, CA to Charleston, SC and each and every one tends to reflect the demographics of the area within which it is situated. The one in Champaign strikes an odd balance, therefore, making available gluten free frozen dinners and giving lots of space to the hip, twenty-something women's fashion that UIUC undergrads would want to buy. It's a small store and does a basic job. I wish there were more diversity of products, especially in housewares. I can't believe I am reviewing a Target store, by the way. It can only go downhill from here. Anyway, when I really want a more well-rounded selection, I hit up the Targets in the Chicago area and I am assuming that is what everyone is pretty much relegated to if they are as obsessed as I am about stocking up on lightbulbs, perusing greeting cards, and making sure all my panties match all the bras I wear. read more
