Went in for waffles and sugar and they had neither so I had to go all the way to ShopRite. The selection was none. They had a good sale 2 for 5 but they was out of stock. I was looking for raw brown sugar couldn't find that either the value is not worth it that's why I don't shop here. I usually go to the Target in Bayshore because it is so much more organized , clean and neat . There are plenty of cashiers open so there are few lines . But for convince this location is closer to home , so off I went . I only needed a few items and they had what I needed so that was a big plus ! The store itself is disorganized ,messy and kinda dirty . The cashiers are always pleasant so no problem there , unfortunately not many registers are open and the self service line is ridiculously long ! Maybe it's because of the holiday season but still no excuse ! I think they are understaffed! I went to this location with my baby daughter for the first time, and as we were shopping I spotted a Ms Rachel doll that was on the sales floor. After asking an employee where they had more of them, she scanned it and told me it was the last one in the store. When I got to the register to purchase it the cashier told me he couldn't sell me the toy because it's not released for 2 more days. He told me to go to guest services to see if they could help me out. I went to guest services and explained the situation how I found this on the sales floor and if they can't sell it to me for 2 more days can they at least hold it so I can come back and purchase it on the release date, seeing as they're the ones who put the toy out on the floor in the first place. The lady said she couldn't hold it for me, I asked for a manager. I hear the lady explain the situation to the manager, then he asks me what the issue is. I said I just heard her explain the issue but I'll repeat it. He said this toy shouldn't have been on the sales floor and it can't be sold yet. I said that's fine, Can I come back in 2 days when you're able to sell it. He said no they can't hold it for the 2 days. I called corporate who told me "Rest assured your voice has been heard." I don't understand how if someone that works there makes this mistake by putting a toy on the sales floor that can't be sold until a certain day, why they couldn't hold the toy for me until the release date 2 days later? I have worked in retail for 20 years, including at Target, and I've never had an experience like this before. There's no reason why they couldn't have held it aside for 2 days. They made the mistake of putting it on the sales floor. When I had asked the employee where they had others she didn't say it couldn't be sold; she said it was the last one in the store. I'd been going To Bay Shore when I first moved out here because I didn't know this little gem of a Target was so close by. I was thrilled to discover it and it's been my Target ever since. ''Everyone's always extremely helpful and knowledgeable when I'm there. Parking is ample. I like the set up of this store better than Bay Shore-this Central Islip store seems more spread out, and they're remodeling now. always find what I need. I've come to love their brands, and there are many. Great value and quality. customer service is awesome. I'd ordered something online to pick up in store but never received a notification-and the main phone line was disconnecting me. I called another department and got a very nice guy named Romar (Or Romaro) and he was super helpful. He looked up my order and told me where to pick it up, to have my pick up person (husband) just bring his ID to the pick up area. when husband got there, Romar noticed one of the bags was taped because of a hole and said that's not acceptable- he went and got another bag from stock. He went above and beyond! He also apologized for the phone disconnects and explained that they're getting new phone lines. I have been coming to this target for two years now but lately the last couple months it's been little frustrating that I can't find things I need at the moment specially in the food sections. For a simple juice sometimes I have to switch to another because they don't have much of what my husband and son love. Not sure what is going on but lately haven't been a big of coming here. I always go to this target. However, after today I will no longer visit this particular store. If you have a small breed dog steer away from this location. I was told by the manger, Doug, that dogs were not allowed. I have an under 5 pound dog! I have her in her own blanket she is not walking the aisles she is always by my side! I take her at all target locations and have never been told this! For this reason this was very odd to me. Even though their policy states "service" dogs only. The majority of targets are very lenient with this policy. Especially, if the dog is no where near the food section and is held by the owner. *Aside from this it is definitely not the most organized or clean target. Smaller than your average Target, but fairly clean and a decent selection of staples like toiletries, household items and food. Lines moved fast at checkout. The only reason it's not getting four stars is that they didn't have that many fans in stock and the ones they did have I didn't like. I just wanted a box fan and they had all these fancy-schmancy fans that look pretty but are expensive and wouldn't meet my needs. So they get a frowny face for that. :( Otherwise, a decent Target and miles better than the one at Atlantic Center in Brooklyn. read more

I go to this Target because it's close to my boyfriend's house and it's convenient. But it's easily the worst Target in the area. Their clothing selection is much smaller than other local Targets. Their Clearance area for clothes is maybe a 1/4 of the size of others. It's at least neat & organized, but I rarely find anything worth buying. Their makeup section always seems to be poorly stocked. Entire brand sections are close to empty (see photos). Even their accessories area doesn't have nearly as big of a selection as other stores. I couldn't believe how much more jewelry they had at the new Target in Sayville in comparison. On the plus side, the self check-outs are always open and usually running smoothly. This is a fine Target to go to for basic purchases. But for clothes, accessories, make-up..go to another location. read more

I come to this target literally all the time causee it's close to my home. I work in target not to far from this location and I will be going there to shop from now on. I payed for my stuff at self checkout, forgetting the paper towels under cart unintentional but I had to pay for formula anyways so went back to a register to use my wic card. Cashier asks me if she can see my receipt for alL the things in my cart. She is not asset protection to even be asking me that, even after seeing the receipt I had on top oF the bags. Worst service ever here, I will be shopping at my own target from now on. read more

I was pretty excited when this Target opened up in C.I. They've actually got one of the only Starbucks' locations left in proximity to my mother's house...So this makes me love it even more. This location is decent. Their clothing selection is often lacking compared to other Target stores. However, this is a great place to pick up family gifts around the holidays (for you last minute shoppers that trek out to LI for the holidays and forget a gift for granny or auntie). Car lined up all over front of store because people are to lazy to park and walk. Carts thrown everywhere including front of the store. Most of the store looks like it's been robbed. And they have more self checkouts then cashiers, if I have to scan and bag my own items shouldn't I get an employee discount!?!?!? Every once in awhile there's a nice cashier but definitely not the ladies watching over self checkout like the weight of the world is upon them and you are a mere inconvenience in this space they call hell. If I could give zero stars I would. They are having a promotion for a $15 if you spend $75 or more on baby products (formula/diapers/wipes/baby food). I tried to buy 13 bottles of my sons (ready to feed) formula at 4:15 in the afternoon and was told I could not buy more than 5 unless I was a WIC customer!! They explained they only get a delivery once a day and they need to ensure there was enough for everyone (but I guess they don't care if you leave enough for others if the government is paying for it). The day is almost over and they are getting a truck tomorrow. They wouldn't even sell me 8 bottles (enough to meet the requirements for the $15 giftcard). That store is a joke!! Target in Central Islip is like....THE place to be and see and be seen. Everyone who is anyone comes here. But seriously, a fairly large sized Target store and has almost anything you could ever need within the store. If I had to live inside Target for a month, I'd be pretty much set. The staff is always helpful and courteous and I always see that they are having quick, team meetings on better helping customers and solving store issues. Store is neat, clean, and well-organized. As per usual, you walk in for one item, and leave with 900 items because they just carry EVERYTHING. I really like this Target, and it helps that they have an awesome Starbucks within the store. Deducting one star for two reasons. I understand that fresh produce is not necessarily their "thing" bu the fruits and vegetables are ALL ALWAYS WILTED and the selection is soooooo limited. A great selection of dairy and other fresh items...but frustrating selection of fruits and vegetables. It's frustrating to get 90% of your shopping done here, and have to go somewhere else for a tomato. Also, the lines take forever and there are only a few open at time. The express line is never open! The cashiers are ALWAYS friendly and wonderful but the wait is ridiculous, they seem very understaffed in this area. read more

This Target sits confidently in a massive lot across the way from NYIT. It's a regular Target (neither a Greatland nor a SuperTarget, if there is a difference) but still pretty spacious (PS: if ya need a quick restroom spot, this is the jumpoff right hea). Floundering without my trusted headphones, luckily I had one goal and one goal only: stock up on eats with a giftcard I received. The food selection is on par with other standard Targets, and there's a Starbucks at the front, buttressed by a line of registers manned by well-trained, efficient, and personable cashiers. Quiet is an understatement, with the freezers winning the bid for loudest item, so the headphones would've been a nice accompaniment, but life goes on, albeit monotonously. Beware: Everyone seemed to know each other, despite the semi-odd locale (maybe I'm just oh so very Akon-status lonely). For whatever reason, mothers seem to flock and all sorts of women canoodle here, but I ain't mad at 'em (heeeyyy). read more

My daughter bought an ITUNES gift card here on Saturday October 27th, and when we went home to add the money to her phone, we found out that it had already been activated. I called the store & then returned to the store immediately to rectify the situation. They told me that I had to contact iTunes as the receipt said no returns or exchanges. (While I understand the police, I do expect to get what I paid for). I didn't buy the iTunes gift card from Apple I bought it from Target, yet they expected me to walk away without being reimbursed for the $25.00 that my daughter spend for the already activated card. This target is just OK. The staff are actually super helpful and friendly, cashiers too, but there's always so much stuff in the way in the aisles, and a lot of the displays seem sloppy (especially clothing and seasonal). Things are just piled on top of each other sometimes. read more

To the pharmacist that is a huge a$$hole. She evidentially couldn't fill the script for my dying uncle because the doctor wrote his name slightly under the line. The pharmacist then went on to call security and have my dying uncle rolled out of the store by his wheelchair. The location on 160 N Research Pl in Central Islip, NY are very rude and unprofessional. The staff working at customer service seem to not understand stand where or why they are working there. We had a constant issue with the plastic/cans/glass recyclage system and every time we attempted to come back the machines were full and we'd press the service button or reach out to customer service but it seemed everyone just passed the buck on someone else. I don't understand the idiocy running this place or how it even meets the standards for proper customer service. If you are providing a service to the public, you adhere to that. Because of its close proximity to my house (and ONLY because of that) I'm in this store quite frequently. There are many problems with the management of this store - from the checkout lines (they always wait until the lines are ridiculously long to call for backup), and truly abysmal restocking time, to way too many items being placed above the wrong price. When you have unit pricing you better pay attention to where you're placing your stock. It's really a pain to have to check so many things on the price check to make sure it's the priced stated. Too many times I've been unhappily surprised at checkout, so be VERY wary and pay attention when they're ringing up your order (believe me, the price difference is never in your favor). To that degree this one is easy to get to. The parking is good. The store is beat and clean. Most importantly I found the people here helpful and competent. A good experience.
