We recently went on vacation and while we were gone, our property got hit by something like 20…read moreinches or snow and ice. It was an utter disaster and, unfortunately, one of our cars got completely stuck. The 20 inches wasn't even the big problem; we actually had to clear something like 50 feet of driveway to reach the street. We called Snow Away and talked to Eric about getting the job done. He assured us he could be there in 2 hours and would charge $150 for the job. We agreed and he said to text him the address and a contact number which we did in minutes. I sent another text 10 minutes later to confirm he got it but got no reply. I assumed he was busy or driving and left it at that. An hour before the appointment time I called up to confirm. I got their voice mail, so I left a message stating who I was and what the job was. Even though nothing had officially gone wrong at that point, I took the text non reply and no answer on their phone as a bad omen and started to get a feeling that we were going to be stood up. Sure enough, 2pm rolled around and Snow Away, ahem, flaked. I can't even begin to express how infuriated we were. We were hoping to have the car ready to go for a trip, so having them blow us off at the last minute meant that I had to do all the shoveling on the fly. It was heavy, wet, and icy snow too, so it took forever and totally sucked. But I got it done, no thanks to Snow Away. So, if you are considering using Snow Away, think twice. They are completely unreliable and showed zero respect to us as clients. The same could happen to you.

We've been engaging RC Landscape for about 5 years, since we moved into our house, because the…read moreprior owners worked with them and we just continued services. It was fine for several years while we just had lawn mowing services; they would consistently come once a week. Eventually, they convinced me that we needed additional services, and we started doing lawn applications and additional maintenance work on other plants in the yard. Since that time, we've had communications issues. The day of the week and time when they would come would be irregular, and we had lawn applications happen on weekends when we had scheduled events. As a result, we asked that we be notified before major lawn applications (aeration, seeding, fertilizer) happened that would prevent us (and small child) from using the yard for a weekend--and were told that they don't have time to provide notice to all of their clients. Not ideal, but we were able to work around it. Today, despite my having paused services for the pandemic (while continuing payment so that they can keep paying their landscapers), they came onto our property without notification to do "maintenance" and chopped the top off of our new weeping tree, which we've only had since last spring. Rather than attempting to make it right (which frankly I don't think they could given the amount of time that went into the research and selection of my little tree), or even so much as apologizing, the owner just said that they would send me a final bill for the "maintenance" and informed me that I am "very unreasonable as a client" and that the top of the tree just "fell off"--despite it being in perfectly good shape when I last saw it this morning before their unrequested visit (on a bright sunny day). Pictures from today and last year after planting attached for comparison. So to summarize, they ruined my tree (during a time when they had been explicitly requested to stay away), and their response is that it's my fault for being an unreasonable client and they want me to pay for it.
