Triceps, 360, inner and outer thigh. 3l removed. I am a researcher so I can assure you the grunt work was done. Dr Taranow was one of 5 doctors I consulted with. Some of my insights (and differences I saw between his team and others) 1. Dr Taranow has a wealth of experience with a number of shapes, sizes and colors and will make appropriate recommendations suited for you. Since I am slender and darker skinned, he explained the cannula size he would use for me and told me some of the care and watch out tips for brown skin 2. Most of the reviews mention quicker and smoother recoveries. That usually speaks to skill and practice as well as pre and post op care. I realize each person is different but I have been lucky to be recovering quickly and smoothly. 3. Dr Taranow takes the time to address concerns and is approachable and forthright, which I appreciate very much. He also makes sure the results look natural and match with your body type and structure. 4. He offers a streamlined pricing structure (in comparison to others ) with a number of pre and post op items built in - made my life significantly easier rather than keeping track of itemization 6. Great bedside manner! Called me on the night of surgery to check on how I was doing and gave me flowers and my before photos on my first week follow up appointment to remove stitches. The personal and personalized care is touching and appreciated. He's also present at every meeting you would have with him (consultation and pre op or any other) and offers follow up appointments where he meets with you personally. 7. The op room is located in his office space - I didn't need to go anywhere or meet any new people or go to a different surgical center. All costs were estimated under one roof and it was comforting to see familiar faces on the day of surgery. 8. He's pretty particular as a person. He makes the fluid he uses for the procedure himself. It's a standard formula but he doesn't outsource the work to someone else. He also cleans you down before surgery (with an anti bacterial soap) rather than handing you over to the nurse present since he likes the peace of mind that's it is done to his standard and protocol. Cindy and Beatrice up front are the nicest people - very helpful and approachable, spend time with you making sure you have all your questions answered. They also call and text with reminders and updates. i have been going to dr. t for ovrr 15 yrs. but, something is very wrong now. beware. he did butt injections on me 1st time with no numbing, excrutiating, no nurse, fly by night. then he did another, made ni difference. 3rd time made bitt look so lumpy and deformed ..he should havd his license revoked. read more

Where do I even begin... I had my first surgery with Dr Taranow 14 years ago and was very happy with my results. After a major weight loss and I went back for a lift and new implants. I had my surgery right before Covid hit in February 2020. Right after I noticed I had an issue contact Dr. Taranow and said to come in once things calmed down and he would take a look but also I needed to let the surgery heal. 6 months later I went back September 2020 and he said that it needed to be corrected blamed the issue on a side effect capsular contracture and told me if I felt comfortable just paying for the cost of the implant ... I knew already I was going to have to pay something and that additional cost was $2000 now mind you I had already paid him $14000 CASH in February. So now I follow up a week last for my pre-op and he plays stupid "oh how much did I tell you?" I said $2000 why cause that's what I came here with in cash" he responds "yeah I don't why I told you that, I charge a lot more for revisions like $8000 and this isn't even my fault abs I have to pay the nurse and anesthesiologist blah blah " so when he saw his response upset me he had the nerve to say "listen I'm trying to me nice about this" and we settled on total of $3000 and so I owed $1000. What he didn't realize is that I noticed he ordered me a different shape implant cause the one he initially put in made my breast look deformed and that why he said it was capsular contracture. He lied and said it was a side effect but it actually was his mistake with choosing the wrong shaping of implant for me. On top of that he was suppose to make my areola smaller cause he did one side and forgot to the other. He didn't fix this on the second surgery my breast look better but for $17,000 they should be prefect. My left breast that had the issues looks like a lift really wasn't done and my aerolas do not match. I'm gonna have to go for another surgery but obviously would not let Dr Taranow touch me again don't trust him and he's all about the money your not a patient your a dollar sign to him and nothing more. Also I've asked for my records numerous of times over the phone in writing and they will not release my records to me ... which is illegal!!! They know what they did and they don't want to release anything to me. read more

Let me start off by saying Dr.Douglas did an amazing job on me. His team is incredibly nice and will make you feel so comfortable ,he preformed lipo 360 on me and I couldn't be happier. I had Dr. Taranow for a liposuction procedure (upper arms, armpit, lower ab, waist, flanks). At the initial consultation, he spent over 1hr with me going over all of my concerns and listened to my expectations. His manner, expertise, and knowledge truly impressed me - so I cancelled all of my other consults and booked my procedure. His assistants were extremely nice - they helped me prepare for my procedure and gave me a comprehensive folder of all the info I need. I started taking Arnica and Bromelain a few days in advance. The day of my procedure, I came into a full house - with the doctor ready to go, a nurse to help me prepare and an anesthesiologist on-site. His team made me feel very comfortable and I was home before I knew it. The first day I had some pain/swelling under my compression garment but basically was able to sleep through the day with medication. The doctor called me the night of, and the morning after, to personally check in on me and made sure I was ok. During days 1-3, swelling was at its max, so I inserted lipo foams under my compression garment which helped massively. Starting from day 4, I was already seeing a reduction in swelling, and bruises have begun to turn deep purple/yellow. At the one-week mark, I returned to Dr. Taranow's office to take out my stitches. He showed me how much fat was taken out of my body and showed me the before pictures - it was night and day. He spent another hour with me to talk about my results and progression. He is such a patient man with a great sense of humor, I actually enjoy my visits to the doctor's office! I am currently 1.5 weeks post-op, and I feel that ~70% of swelling/bruises have resolved. This is a lot faster than I had anticipated - which truly speaks to the skill of Dr. Taranow and his effective yet gentle methods. Going to Dr. Taranow for my second breast augmentation was THE BEST decision I made. It was absolutely awful!! I used Dr. Douglas Taranow for breast augmentation back in 1998. When I decided to do this procedure with him I explained during my pregnancy I gained 4" in my chest. I just wanted a little lift and to be a large B or small C and the implant behind my muscle! He said ok. After the surgery I was huge!! I said this isn't the size I wanted, he said they're swollen. They ended up being triple Decker on a tiny size 0 body frame! I was so upset!! Then to find out that he put the implant in front of the muscle. I tried to sue but was out of the statue of limitations! Fast forward finally could afford to redo My breasts and the new surgeon told me he actually cut the muscle in half so the new implants although will be substantially smaller will not be able to totally be under the muscle as the muscle doesn't stretch one scar tissue attaches. I recommend you run the other way from Dr. Douglas Taranow!! He's the worst Dr. ever come across. His bedside manner rated 1. He doesn't listen at all!! read more

I have never written a review, however I am compelled to do it because of this man. Dr. Taranow fixed what a 90210 doctor with the name, Dr. Franklin Rose from Houston Texas who is a quack! Taranow was referred to me by a girlfriend and when I saw his portfolio of reconstructive surgery I chose him. Other doctors were much cheaper but, when I asked for the portfolios they didn't present me with anything. I shopped around for 6 solid months before taking the plunge for the reconstructive surgery. I had extreme nerve damage, bottomed out :{ Taranow fixed me from the inside out. Most of my nerve damage has subsided since he took the first set out, I had to heal the nerves reattached themselves. If I could give less than I would. He sliced through my left pectoral muscle while replacing a burst implant. I just found out when I had my breast corrected last week. Under his "skill" my implants came out looking like a surrealistic painting with one placed correctly and the other drooping down by my belly button. He cared more for his autistic son then his patients and kept making the classy remark "are you sure you don't have insurance because I could charge them a bunch for this operation whoa-ho. Could I." I lived years in hell looking this way until I could finally get the money together to have it fixed. He loves to talk about his autistic son and how much his schooling is. If you want to pay for this quack's son's school then go to him. Don't be fooled by his fake paid reviews of people with no real accounts, no friends and only one stellar review for this person who should have his license revoked. Save yourself the grief and anguish I feel. My body will never be right again. Going to Taranow is one of the few things in life I wishh I could take back. Don't make the mistake I did. Saw his work on a girlfriend of mine, ended up getting work done and referred 3 other girls who all got work done as well. His work on your body looks natural and feels real to the touch (we all got breast implants). Went in 2005 and am thinking of going back soon. The only reason why I am giving Dr. Taranow 3 stars and not 2 is because he IS a nice guy. He IS honest and DOES tell the patient to be open and ask any and all questions they may have during the office visits. But he's very nonchalant about certain things. Which is not very professional. I recently had liposuction done in 3 areas with Dr. Taranow. And not once did Dr. Taranow tell me how the recovery process would be after my surgery. I was not aware that swelling and such can take up to 6 months to a year to subside!!! I had the surgery done 3 weeks ago and i am still extremely swollen in all areas but particularly my abdomen. It's like a rock. It's so uncomfortable that I am physically depressed and regret my decision to have this surgery. I was also not warned by the dr. that after the procedure when patient is ready and able to shower that patient should take it easy because dizziness and nausea will occur. I had to find out the hard way and immediately freaked out and called him cause I thought something was wrong. That's when he said "oh that's completely normal"!!!??? I'm like, well why was I not informed of this before hand so I wouldn't have freaked and think something was wrong??!! And to top it off Dr. Taranow failed to tell me that after procedure I would most likely need what they call a lymphatic drainage massage to help reduce swelling and bruising quicker. I just so happen to find out about it(after the surgery) while doing research for something else online!!!! If he had told me about it to begin with my health insurance(which does cover lymphatic drainage) would have been billed and I wouldn't have had to spend any more extra money!!! It wasn't until I spent $700 on the massages and had the massage therapist tell me to ask Dr. Taranow about billing my insurance that he did something!! I mean really!!! Dr. Taranow gave me my dream breasts! I wanted to look like a Victoria Secret model and I think my new breasts are just as good, if not better, than the VS girls! I couldn't be happier! I started off with deflated small Bs and I did a modest 250cc silicon transaxillary under the muscle procesure and ended up with perfect mid-C natural looking, soft, perky breasts. They fit my body shape so well (actually make my butt look smaller now) and look perfectly natural. Dr. Taranow is an artist and very experienced with transax surgeries. From my initial email in Nov. requesting information about lipo and BBL surgery, to my surgery in Jan., to my post op check-ups, my experience with Dr. Taranow and his entire staff has been great. I researched procedures and several doctors on the Real Self site but kept coming back to Dr. Taranow and researched him extensively. He has several informative videos which I watched and also checked that there were no claims against him which there were not. Once I met him personally I was convinced I wanted him to perform my surgery. He was easy to talk to and very informative. I am now 5 weeks post op and can say that following the surgery the recovery and discomfort for the most part has been a breeze which I attribute to the skills of a highly experienced surgeon. Dr. Taranow is extremely knowledgeable, caring and just one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. My surgery was on a Friday and he called me that night and again on Sunday to check and see how I was feeling. After meeting with numerous doctors to get cosmetic procedures done, Dr. Taranow was the only one that actually took the time out and explain to me all the details that would entail in the procedure, pre and post op. He even told me to hold off on certain procedures because he feels after having two kids, I can lose the extra pounds on my own the natural way instead of spending the money. We had an agreement that the decision to perform an extra procedure would be left upto him during the process and if he felt it wasn't necessary he would refund my money back, which he did. It's great to know there are still human doctors out there that aren't just doing their job for the money. I trusted Dr Taranow when he said he would do a great job with liposuction on my abs, that he had plenty of experience, and that I would get so much more definition. I was left with Horrifying indentation, ridge, unevenness, and less definition. Going to him was one of the worst decisions I have made in my life. I am not even in my thirties and I am gonna have now to live everyday with his horrible work. I am ashamed to take my shirt off. Do not trust that man, it was my mistake. I don't believe he understood or paid attention to my body and my natural lines. I had my BBL surgery with Dr. Taranow on 3/2/18 I am a month post op and let me just say he is the BEST doctor in NYC. Bae is front desk office manager is amazing she is very polite and helpful she is always available even after work hours to answer any of your questions pre or post op. He has amazing bedside manner and his entire staff is hilarious the day of surgery we had a bruno mars concert right before it was lights out for me lol. I woke up without any pain, to a beautiful nurse that assisted me with getting dressed and out to my ride home. During my follow up visit Dr. T had a dozen roses waiting for me with my name on his board that said welcome.
