If I could, I would give it no stars. The food is cafeteria style in the morning for breakfast. I got 3 tacos and a coffee. The coffee was literally room temp and self serve, I mentioned if they could plz make a fresh pot. I got an attitude and it never came. The tacos were somehow greasy and bland. The tortillas were advertised as fresh and homemade; they did not taste homemade. I went to the counter to ask for salsa to flavor up the tacos. I was ignored for literally 6 minutes. Yes, I counted. I finally got the attention of someone who wasn't trying to avoid my gaze. They gave me salsa. Finally the bill came. $13 for 3 tacos and a coffee. Mind you the coffee never came. I asked why the price was what it was and got a cold shrug and a "it is what it is" from the staff. I will not return here again and do not recommend this place. At least if the service is good I can excuse some issues. But the food AND the staff was bad. read more

They offer cilantro, onion, jalapeño, lime, and housemade salsas to top them off. Everybody working there is so incredibly nice--feels like they've welcomed you into their kitchen. The rude owner lady charges you $2 if you bring your own drink inside. She definitely has personality issues as well as being rude to her supporting community customers. To me this place has an identity crisis. It's challenging to even get to, unless you're coming from the south on Murphy Road. I walked into the expansive restaurant dining area and saw only a few customers at lunchtime. Apparently they do most of their business for breakfast? The atmosphere here is not its strong point obviously. They were playing older tejano music over the speaker system, which coincidently was an older system from maybe the 1970s? I couldn't really figure out the menu on the wall (behind the serving line) and what types of food they serve, but it appears they mostly have tacos with different fillings in them. Yes, the menu is in English, but it's not very well presented. I ordered 3 tacos, beef fajita, barbacoa and lengua. Fajita - this comes shredded for some reason and is seasoned beef that has a similar taste and texture to pot roast, not exactly the fajita taste I was craving. The tortilla does appear to be homemade though. Barbacoa - this was the first taco I tried, also shredded beef, but it's just average in taste. Lengua - this tongue meat comes in large chunks, and you don't usually see them this big at other taquerias. It was ok but not the best I've had Overall, this large hole-in the-wall restaurant was just ok for me. I've certainly experienced better, and had much worse. Total cost for 3 tacos and a soda was around $8. They do nickel and dime you on a few things though. Refills, to-go cups, etc...etc...so beware your bill may end up higher for this reason. Dad wanted lunch from here. So today I took him to eat his favorite, carne quisada. All his food was cold & I was waiting on my breakfast to be made. I took the plate back @ asked them to nuke it for 3min. They have NO MICROWAVE The mgr asked me what was wrong, she could fix it NOT! They were closing @ 2. They should have told us they had no more food. It would have saved them this terrible review. We are not going back, not because the food was cold & my breakfast nvr came.. The restrooms are filthy & smell of sewer. That place could use a MAKE OVER!!!!! Never ever going there again, they lost a weekly customer. Tge manager needs to learn proper English! I have been going to Taquitos Cafeteria for the last 17 years, especially on the weekends. Their good breakfast/lunch is very simple, authentic, hot and the way my mom and grandmother used to make it. The atmosphere is very humble and family oriented. The latin/hispanic/tejano music in the background is very soothing but not too blasting loud. The cost of food here is very reasonable and you can wear casual clothes. It has one of the best coffee I have tasted. It's a place where you can order you food, eat it and still have time to talk to friends before leaving. I have looked and tried other places all over this area but I haven't found a great place to eat breakfast or lunch. read more

I came here recently with my family and my boyfriend. When we were standing in line, I could see a roach crawl under the trays where the food was sitting. If there are roaches in the front, what is going on in the back. My boyfriend had one thing different than I did, the chorizo. Within the hour he was incapacitated and sick in the bathroom. as a Stafford native I have been coming here since i was a little girl. I have never been dissapointed. Ive also brought by several friends and everyone has loved it. it just has a comfty home-y feeling and if its lunch time and they are out of huevo con papa (breakfast) they will make some just for you. Food is ok, service is bad. I don't mean the servers are rude or anything, but they have one serve for a cafeteria style line so you can image how long the line gets and how the long the wait is. Their tortillas are home made and are pretty thick. Their chorizo lacks seasoning, beans and cheese Bf taco is delicious! Their sliced bacon is cooked really good, but their bacon and egg is decent. OK, so I just went into Taquitos Cafeteria, in Stafford. Yea, their food is over priced but its tasty and I thought I would surprise my son. So the lady in front of me ordered two tacos and asked to have the meat put in a container separate so that the tortilla wouldn't be soaked. So the prepared it for her no problems no extra price. I thought that's a great idea, I don't like soggy tortilla either. So I ordered six tacos for my boys and myself the same way. The lady says to me are you serious with an irritated look on her face. I said yes. Then she goes to the back and some other lady comes out and says she would have to charge me extra for each taco. I said you didn't charge the lady right in front of me. She said she only ordered two and I ordered too many tacos . I looked at her like are you serious and and told her " you know, that ok. I'll go someplace else, thank you". And I walked out. Really, their tacos are already over priced and she has the nerve to charge me when she didn't charge someone right in front of me. Really? That's the last time I'll be. Stepping foot in that place .
