So..... I really had high hopes for this spot based on all the other reviews I saw. I ordered mixed fajitas on doordash. I've had fajitas at so many different places around town thru the years and I have to say these were at the BOTTOM of my ranking. Very bland, the steak didn't seem to be grilled but pan seared, the veggies with it were just as unimpressive. We enjoyed the food and service. The fried avocado plate was tasty. The ground beef avocado hit the spot, it came with beef fajita taco al carbon with rice, charro beans, chile con queso, lettuce and pico de gallo. We shared a mixed fajita lunch menu plate, fajitas poblano.....beef and chicken sauteed in chipotle sauce with poblano peppers, onions, mushrooms, and pico de gallo topped with jack cheese. The food here is always spectacular. Great tortillas, great refried beans, great chips and salsa, and the portions are generous. However, when we decided to dine in recently (usually we pick up our food, like for football games), the service was subpar. It took 20 minutes for the server to come take our order, and when he finally did appear, he seemed irritated and impatient with us, as if we were the ones being problematic. He rolled his eyes at my aging father when he took an extra moment to order. It took another age for our food to arrive, and no one checked in on us after it came. Once again, it took forever to get the bill and eventually my dad had to ask for it. We left without so much as a thank you or goodbye from the staff. It's a shame that the food is so good when the service is so poor. As a neighborhood establishment, they should do better. read more

Decent Tex Mex, pleasant staff, and fair prices. We usually get the fajitas, chimichangas, and quesadillas and the portions are fairly generous. My one problem with the food is the queso is velvetta, yuck. Other than that our only issue is they are SO SUPER SLOW. We really can't get in and out in under 90 minutes unless we repeatedly ask if we can "please order" and then later, ask them to please bring the bill. read more

Nice & clean restaurant with a nice sized patio. We sat at a booth on the inside and plenty of people were there dining in or getting food togo. First the chips and salsa were probably the best I've ever had! Then the enchiladas dinner was SO good and cheesy! Like the pull on that enchilada was amazing. And what really impressed me was that by the time I was getting full, the plate was still hot! I definitely enjoyed my meal here. I want to go back and try their margaritas when I can. read more

This restaurant is busy in the neighborhood, but it needs a lot of improvement regarding foods and drink we order margarita not up to the mark. It's something that if they're going to charge you that amount of money you expect good margarita but sadly not good. We order chicken, chimichanga chicken and the chimichanga was not flavored. It seems like it was a boiled chicken no flavor not too much spices. it was a fried chimichanga, but it was too much fried so the top was hard enough not to take a bite. Next thing was chicken quesadillas same problem less cheese boiled chicken not enough spices not enough flavor. Salsa was not too flavorful all these problems can be resolved with making it more flavorful cheese came with chicken chimichanga in a small plastic cup seem like powdered cheese it could've been done better inside ambience was good instead of quantity they need to focus on quality of the food and the drink prices are very reasonable I guess because of the low prices they're busy but I believe quality over quantity I want taste. I want flavor. I want all the spices I want the food that can melt my stomach, but I'm going to try once more see how it goes but in the meanwhile I do give a chance maybe you can tell them maybe you would like it but go ahead and enjoy and see for yourself read more

Overall, my friends and I had a poor experience at this restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant around 12pm on Sunday. When we first walked in, the hosts were kind and inviting, walking us to a table of our choice. The assistant server brought us our drinks immediately. The service was great until we were approached by our main server. When my friend asked a question about her order, he aggressively leaned over her, pointed at the menu, and said "read it!" This made her very uncomfortable and made us all feel unwelcome and as if we were not allowed to ask questions. She was just trying to confirm that the chicken in her quesadillas would not come into contact with beef, as she cannot eat beef for religious reasons. She later found a chunk of beef in her chicken quesadillas! When we politely told the server about this issue, he completely dismissed us saying that "it is chicken" when there was obviously beef. While mistakes happen, him dismissing this issue was completely unacceptable! My salad was also served with ranch dressing packets tossed on top of the lettuce. Later, after I ate most of my food, I found a hair in my salad! These issues have made us believe that the cleanliness of the back of the restaurant is very poor. Our server always brushed us off when we would ask him questions and changed the atmosphere from inviting to uninviting very quickly. Other than that, the burrito and quesadillas that our other friends ordered were quite good. They described their meals as flavorful and worth the wait. While not everything at Casa Vaqueros is bad, my friends and I will not be returning because of the lack of restaurant cleanliness and impolite service. read more

Sun 28th at lunch we asked for fresh chips once the bowl was 2/3 empty and the waiter just piled nice fresh warm crispy chips on top of the cold hard crunchy chips, first time we experienced that here. The food was good but there was a waiter that had soaked himself in cologne, I did not get his name but had a thin outline of a beard. Everytime he passed our table we got a breath of cologne doused BO making those bites of food off putting. This was our first disappointment here, so we will write off this experience and try again hoping the cologne guy will be on his day off. read more

I wasn't too impressed at this place and it makes me question my future in-laws food choices. Mt fiance brought me here because he said the food was great and that his family really enjoys it. I decided to trust him this one time and check this place out. He didn't have any complaints about the frozen margarita or the iced margarita that he received. Heck I think thats the only thing keeping them around. I ordered the chimichanga and boy, just save the hassle and go to gringos. The rice was the only thing good on that plate. The guacamole had no taste to it. They gave me a cup that looked like melted Velveeta cheese to pour on top of the chimichanga. No sauces or anything to smother it. What was worse was the ground beef. Not sure how they cooked it but it tasted very weird and not appetizing. There was no filling like onions inside the chimichanga. Just the disgusting meat that is mixed with the cheese. The interior needs a redo. It's very plain and boring. Needs a nice cleaning as well as I saw dead flies and a dead roach on the window sill. While the staff was nice, I'm not going to return here. The chimichanga literally caused my stomach to hurt bad all night from it. I should of ordered something non meat related here. read more

My family and I went to this restaurant as we always do and usually we have a very nice time. On this past experience, the server was so incredibly rude as he always is. I don't remember his name, but he's short older bald and never smiles he acts as if we are bothering him and he always screws up our checks and when we correct him on it he gets more of an attitude. Each and every time we have him as a server, it's always a problem. Well, this was the last time. There are way too many Mexican restaurants in this area to be treated so poorly. We usually meet there every week and spend quite a bit of money. We now go to Los Gallitos on hwy 6, very nice patio and great service. read more

This establishment is a hidden gem inside of the Missouri City area. Pre-COVID days, I would love to come here for their refreshing margaritas after a long day at work. The service is decent and they are definitely generous with their portions, it's a rare occasion when I don't see people take leftovers home. This is a great little hole in the wall that serves delicious Tex-Mex. The portions are very generous, so bring a big appetite or take the rest to go! I decided to try this place out because I drive by all the time, and there always seems to be plenty of patrons. The parking lot is large enough for the size of the crowd. We got patio seats, and the other customers were lively and friendly, good crowd! It was a late brunch, so we shared a plate of steak fajita nachos that were sooooo good, but we couldn't finish the whole plate! I had two margaritas, the first was a little watery, but the second was the right tequila strength, so maybe a little more consistency at the bar could apply here. I plan on returning again soon. Ate at this place a few days ago and will get straight to the point this was by far the WORST Mexican food(if you want to call it that) I have ever had in my life. My wife ordered a Texas Fajita Nacho with bell peppers. The chicken was chopped into square bits and looked to be microwaved and the bell peppers looked like they were microwaved as well. Moreover, the TFN was not seasoned and in short it resembled dog food. I ordered a Mexican salad bowl and the cheese was shredded and looked like it came from a Kroger brand bag of cheese. The beef in my Mexican bowl was not seasoned My kids eat everything and the chicken fingers weren't even touched by them. And the sweet tea Jesus Christ how do you ruin sweet tea smh? I'm not sure how others are reviewing this place in a positive light other than the customer service which was great. Never will step foot in this place again. read more
