We order pan de dulce for the table and we got 2 conchas, soft and warm just made. A chocolate roll and a fig and nata pastry along with coffee for the table. We order hievos rancheros with the red sauce. Huevos revueltos con chorizo, omelete con flor de calabaza y tamal de elote con crema. We also order a birria de res to share with the table. Service was very quick, efficient and friendly menus can be had in english or Spanish . My daughter order a hot chocolate with preparation table side, she said it was amazing. Fantastic place for brunch but arrive before 9:45am otherwise lines and some slight wait after 10am.

No music beyond the 2 guitar player going around table to table to see if you wanted a serenade. Skipped their offer 1st time around. Pretty quiet, bright and clean. Found that waiter spoke a little English and with our little Spanish got things done. Menus are bilingual Spanish-English. Ordered 4 lamb tacos, chile en nogada, cooked chicken in green sauce and a fish dish (forgot name, little spicy) then a coke, horchata and a pineapple drink. We got chips, cheese, sauce while waiting. Those were all nicely done but average. Dishes out maybe 10 min later. All presented well and hot. We shared each dish. Lamb tacos nicely done, little dry, but they give you some guacamole, a brown sauce, along with the green sauce and cheese with the tortilla chips. Nice, not fatty. Next was the chiles en nogada. First time tried this and really enjoyed, many flavors and nicely flavored beef. In general little on sweet side, so probably couldn't eat more than 1. The chicken in green sauce was a homey, comfort food. Nicely cooked chicken leg and thigh was an ever so slightly spicy sauce. Also came with tortilla wraps and Spanish riceLastly was the spicy baked fish. Done well, fell apart pretty easily, was spicy, but not too much. Had green beans on side done well, not too soft or hard, and Spanish rice. Drinks were all a hit. Coke is coke. Horchata and pineapple juice served in big mugs. Pineapple tastes freshly squeezed and horchata was a super solid example in every way. Oh almost forgot, later in the meal we figured out how to get the 2 guitar fellows to play for us. 2 songs for 300 peso, about 7min total. They did a good job with both the guitar and singing, was enjoyable to listen to them. Would stop back again if in area.

We came as part of a tour after visiting the pyramids, so unfortunately we were on a pretty tight schedule. We arrived around 12 PM and were scheduled to be picked up at 2 PM. We communicated that to our server, but our food didn't arrive until around 1:30, which meant we basically had to inhale our meal before running back to meet our tour. I really wish we'd had more time to sit and enjoy everything. Now my one personal grievance: WHERE IS THE SPICY SALSA?! We're in Mexico, I need to feel something!! I asked our server why nothing was spicy, and he told me it was because of tourism. -.- I ended up paying extra for them to roast some peppers for me just so I could get some heat. Spice crisis aside, the food was delicious. I started with a bowl of consomé, which absolutely hit the spot after climbing the pyramids, and I had the mole verde for my main dish. My partner ordered the steak, and we both really enjoyed our meals. One thing to keep in mind is the pricing. It's definitely on the touristy side and closer to what you'd expect to pay at a restaurant in the U.S. You're paying for the setting and overall experience in addition to the food, so don't necessarily come expecting inexpensive Mexico prices. One of my favorite touches came at the end of the meal. They give you a candle to place among the rocks, representing a new beginning. I thought that was such a sweet and meaningful way to end the experience. Overall, the food was amazing and the space is genuinely gorgeous. I would recommend experiencing it at least once--just give yourself plenty of time, expect U.S.-ish pricing, and if you're a spicy girl like me, prepare yourself for the tourist-level salsa situation.

The atmosphere is beautiful and truly unique. Each guest receives a candle to light near the stairs as a symbol of healing. There are also chefs preparing fresh tortillas in an open cooking area, they celebrate your birthday celebrations with lively songs and unique presentations. We ordered three dishes and 2 soups, and the vegetarian mixiote was a disaster. Other dishes were just ok. The vegetables were severely undercooked, the beans and corn, etc which tasted raw. The dish had no flavor or seasoning, and after just one spoonful, I felt stomach bloating. At 430 pesos for a dish consisting entirely of vegetables and corn and beans, I expected much better quality, preparation, and flavor. Our server and the manager had an attitude. When we raised our concerns, instead of acknowledging the issue or trying to find a solution, the manager argued that the food had been prepared for us and therefore we were expected to pay. Of course, we understand that food was prepared, but it's the restaurant's responsibility to serve properly cooked, enjoyable meals, especially at these prices. We visited on a Tuesday after the paraymid visit, and the restaurant was still quite busy, mainly with tourists. Our booking was a month in advance .
