They make excellent Menudo they even had patas if you if you like. Took my buddy over there. He loves their Carne Asada burritos. The service is timely. They have a note by the register that says they make the food fresh and believe me it's fresh. The ambience is quaint like any Mom and P0p restaurant would look. read more

Craving street tacos, stopped here after shopping on El Paseo. They have tented outdoor seating in front, and I wanted to sit and chill for a bit. I asked the woman working there if they could make the tacos with just chopped onion and cilantro on top with a side of lime. She was happy to accommodate. A basket of chips and fresh salsa was provided, always a nice touch! The tacos came out quickly and just the way I asked. The pastor filling was spicy and very plentiful. Definitely had a lot of seasoning mixed in with the meat. The tortillas themselves were fresh and they were served with some shredded lettuce and pico de gallo on the side. It was a very fulfilling meal! Next time I will get just 2 of the tacos as that would have been plenty. The woman behind the counter was super friendly and accommodating. She even came outside to my table to make sure the tacos were made to my liking. The menu had all the typical, and some not so typical, offerings. Can't wait to come back and try other items. For this day, it was all about the tacos! They have a huge jug of sanitizer when you enter so you can clean your hands. They are wearing masks and gloves. Customers required to wear masks. I walked in never having been here. Ordered a #5 combo, taco and enchilada, double beans/no rice and a side of chips to go. The girl at the counter was terrific; friendly, courteous and efficient. The meal was decent to good. The asada was flavorful without being overbearing. The enchilada was cheese, I asked for chicken, but to be truthful, I'm not certain she heard or understood me, so I was fine with the cheese enchilada. The beans were really good as was the salsa rojo caliente. The tab for the meal and chips was $16.79 including a credit card fee of $.59. The woman behind the counter was very nice and explained different things on the menu to us (she didn't know she was dealing with Mexican food-loving weirdos from the Midwest) and suggested a few things. I had the enchiladas special (one chicken, one beef, red sauce, beans and rice), husband had burrito and taco combo, kiddo had carne asada plate. Other orders included tacos, gigantic carne asada burrito, shrimp cocktail, and carnitas torta. I have been coming here for years and during these crazy Covid Times I decided I want to get in order to go. I ordered the two tamales special . The tamales were great and the beans and rice it came with it we're also good. One thing I've noticed here is when you order beans with something they don't just spread it out on a plate making it look like a lot they give you a lot. Fresh made chips and salsa also is great with it. I am a regular customer and I will always be when they wait on you at the counter they have smiles on their faces and great attitudes. read more

Stopped in late on a Sunday night. The young lady behind the counter was less-than-pleased that we came in 30 minutes before closing. I'm sure she was hoping to get everything cleaned and ready for closing by closing. Color me a party crasher. Jeff ordered a chicken taco (soft), beans, rice and a small guacamole. I got the #7: chile relleno and beef taco. The chicken on Jeff's taco had good flavor, but he thought it was tough. He really liked the beans and rice. The guacamole was a total joke. For a $1.29 he got a small (salsa sized) guacamole. I can't imagine what the large might look like, 1/3 of a cup? That was a total rip-off. My chile relleno had a good flavor to it. I was pleasantly surprised to not find the stem in the chile! The egg batter around the chile wasn't too greasy nor tough. The beef taco was fine, though the shredded beef was a bit dry in places. I wasn't impressed by the rice, so I dumped a small guacamole-sized bit of salsa on the rice and it was much better. The beans had the perfect amount of fat-to-bean ratio, but they were just a tad saltier than I like. I got some iced tea that was dark brown and powerful good. A super drunk guy came in to order a burrito. He ordered a beer. I don't think she should have let him order, but again, she didn't want us there, either. I think I'd go back. I was surprised to see tacos de tripas there. Most places don't carry that. I liked the salsa they had. They also had sliced radishes. Delicious. Maybe I should go back earlier in the day. There are two great Mexican restaurants in the valley. There's the Mexicali Grill in Indio and there's Taqueria in Palm Desert. Both places have fabulous atmosphere, which is to say they are not fancy but very authentic and comfortable. Doesn't matter what you order at Taqueria you're going to enjoy. We love the tacos and enchiladas and salsa and chips and their ceviche is unforgettable. We could go on but we would only be repeating ourselves. It was close to closing, so they were out of the special, caldo de res. They were out of a few other things, too, and were apologetic. I'll know to get there earlier next time. However, in the recent years due to excess traveling assignment, I was able to experience different type of crusin and learn more about the Mexican food. This little establismet was by far the best Mexican restaurant I had so far. Pros: Great food. Everytime I come here I order something different. So far out of my 6 visit they have not disappoint me. Despite the less than stellar reviews, I came to this restaurant based on a recommendation of a friend. Ordered three tacos to go. When I got home, two of the tacos just had meat in them, that's it, meat and a tortilla. The third taco had the appropriate fixings. I had to provide my own fixings from my fridge. So it is difficult to judge the food when the order is not complete. Bad first impression. The young lady that took my order was very nice, so that was the brightest spot.
