Always looking for the best Crispy tacos! We decided to try this restaurant. Large dining room, well lit and super clean. Order at the register. At 5:00 there were quite a few to go orders and more diners walking in. Friendly staff. Crispy tacos were ok, not my fave though. Ordered shredded chicken and a carnitas taco. Shells were crispy, but a little oily. Good size too. Plenty of meat in both. Hubby had the chili relleno plate, it was very large. He liked it enough. Prices are decent too. Give it a try! They have lots of choices here!

Ordered a burrito for dinner and oh snap! Portions are not generous. For $13 I was just expecting more. When I got it, I was like "where's the rest of it!?"

    Flan (large slice and delicious)

We had a very good experience here. The food was amazing, prices were decent, the staff seemed friendly, the place was clean, chip bar was fully stocked, and the food quality was above average. The inside was decorated nicely and was a nice environment to eat in. I felt the food portions were very generous for the Chile Relleno and the Flan. The meat portions were also bountiful for the taco salad and taco. However, the cheese portion seemed a little low on the taco salad. Things I didn't prefer: the pico de gallo had a higher than usual amount of green parts of tomatoes. Area of opportunity: The women's bathroom was out of paper towels. Something I really liked: the food flavors and the tasty flan. Also, the jalapeño creama is actually thick (some places water theirs down). I would recommend this place to others and will likely come again, relatively soon.

    Grilled Chicken Chimichanga

First time here. Staff was friendly. The grilled chicken chimichanga was big and fried to a beautiful golden brown. It was more refried bean-heavy than I was expecting - I think I would have preferred less beans and more meat. Also the grilled chicken was fine, but I would probably try a different meat next time. The horchata hit the spot. Overall a good experience!

    Stacked super taco!

Food and service shine. Tonight's chile relleno was mild, full of cheese, and exactly what we wanted. Nice local eatery!

Food tasted great, got food poisoning, won't be back. Disappointing because it's a local spot but if it makes you sick it's not worth it.

Since every state in Mexico cooks staples differently we were curious to try Oaxacan Cuisine. The restaurant feels like a restaurant in Mexico, we sat in the second back room and we felt like we were transported to a restaurant town in Mexico. The server was great, nice and friendly and the food was amazing! I ordered their Oaxacan Style Ceviche and it was so good! It came out in a molcajete style plate, and it looked small, however it wasn't, the portion was generous! Our family member ordered the pozole and they shared it was also delicious. (We didn't try it because we don't eat poultry but it smelled so good). Overall great stop, and we will be stopping by when we're back in the Rocklin area.

I ordered from their Mezcalito Specials menu (green) and chose the Baja Fish Tacos ($18). I like the part that it came with rice and black beans. It included two fish tacos. Since I couldn't decide between grilled or fried I got one of each. The fish were beer battered with cabbage, mango, pico, avocado | opted out of the cilantro and onion | Chipotle Aioli on the side just in case I found it too spicy for my taste. It turned out that it added to wonderful flavors on the tacos. Unfortunately, the chips and salsa was not complimentary. Purchase separately. The servers were friendly and welcoming and it made for a pleasant first time experience! There are two dining sections so don't fret when you see the dining area full as you enter the restaurant. There is also a picnic bench under covered roof outside patio dining. You won't be disappointed! No wonder they are at almost perfect 5-stars in Yelp. Instagram: @mezcalitorocklin Review #4055

Every cocktail l've tried has been pertectly crafted, creative, and packed with flavor. If you're looking for recommendations, trust Alex he never disappoints. It's clear he takes pride in what he does, and it definitely shows in every drink he serves. One area is first come first serve, wait service with a few tables and bar seats Popular during happy hour! Good luck! The other section is like cafeteria style. Order at counter, find a seat, and food is delivered to you. The salsa is a walk up salad bar and chips are free. The chips are good. Skinny margaritas we ordered were good! Food is presented well and is tasty. The only two problems, 1. Food or salsas leave you desperate for water hours after eating. Maybe my salt intake has changed but they must use a lot of salt! You can't taste it but it's there. So thirsty! 2. You leave there smelling like the food. Not much you can do since it's a cafeteria style eatery. It's not a bad thing, but I hate that! Haha Not much air conditioning inside so there's that too! I forgot to take pictures but we enjoyed our meal.

The portions have been cut in 1/2 for a lot of menu items here over the last 5 years namely the chimichangas but seems like everything else too. The chimichangas used to be twice the size they are now and were loaded with cheese. Now they have no cheese and 1/2 the filling so there mostly flour tortilla now. Very disappointing and the plates they use now are smaller, they used to serve the food on these huge platters. Anyway went there last night (1st time in 3 years) and this is the plate I got. The 2 chimichangas are now the same size as the tamale on the other side of the plate. The service was terrible too. We did not get our food until almost an hour and by the time the food showed up we were full from the chips and bean dip and salsa wich by the way we had to wave them down several times as we seemed invisible to refill the chips and our drinks. We wont be going back again for probably another 3 years. I highly recommend Felipe's in Citrus heights on Auburn blvd. Way better value and the food quality is on par with el tapatio but with five star service!
