Had just a couple minutes to spare. Just enough time to swing by the taco place that's had me curious. The gal at the counter seemed pleasantly surprised to see a Whitey in her place and this Whitey can even speak a little Spanish so all will be well. Two tacos Al Pastor por favor. A warm little aluminum wrapped bundle arrived a moment later accompanied by a generous helping of radishes, lime and salsa. Heaven in a paper bag! The tacos were wonderful and the pieces of pork were twice as big as I expected. It was awesome. It was only two tacos so I'm hesitant to give 'em 5 stars but I can't wait to go back! Mmmmm.

Yummy Tacos! Be careful with the "spicy salsa" - sets your tounge on fire

Fonally found a good taco place up here. We just moved here a month ago and couldn't find a decent taco spot. *WARNING* Their "spicy" salsa is SUPER SPICY do if you're not used to extreme spicy ask for mild

It might be a surprise to some but you can find some good taco spots up in this part of LA County, and Taqueria El Pariente is definitely one of them, the place get's packed so the locals know what's up. They have a good selection of meat for their tacos, I chose four different type and noticed they had birria so I had to try it too!. Another huge plus for us dog lovers -- the owners clearly love dogs and are very welcoming to people who bring their pups along. That alone makes this place feel extra special. The salsa is seriously good (one of those you can't stop eating while waiting for your food), and everything we ordered was delicious. Overall, great service, great food, and a great vibe.

It's time for Taco Tuesday!…read more Every week, my wife and I decided to try a different place for Taco Tuesday. Last night I decided to try El Pato Mexican on Lyons Avenue in Newhall based off searching for Taco Tuesday. Even though my search showed that El Pato had Taco Tuesday, they did not. I almost left. However, I was committed and in search for the best Tuesday Tacos. Therefore, I ordered 6 Carne Asada street style tacos. The young lady at the register told me they put a few pinto beans on the taco, is that okay? I found out in Central Mexico (Mexico City) and parts of the north, I.e., Sonora & Chihuahua Mexico, this is part of the culture. The southern regions they tend to use black beans. Anyway, the young lady told me that they use the full size corn tortillas when in fact, they use the street style corn tortillas. Two out of my 4 tacos were loaded and the other two were very small and fatty. The first two were really tasty though. At $3.89 a piece plus tax = $4.27, it is way over priced for the value for a street taco. They even charge $11 for a basic Bean N Cheese Burrito. This is my ranking: Taste - *** Price/value - ** Service - ***** Cleanliness - **** Atmosphere - **** Respectfully, Taco man Wedo!

The place already had great reviews, so we figured we had to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! We all ended up ordering chilaquiles--one plate with green sauce and the other two with red sauce--and got our eggs over easy. Let me just say: these were hands down some of the best chilaquiles we've had in the area. The flavor, texture, and portion sizes were all top notch. I also loved that they have an open salsa bar along with complimentary chips for every order. Little touches like that really make the experience even better. There's also plenty of seating inside, and they have a restroom located in the back, which is always convenient when dining with kids. Plates here all are priced around $16-$20 a plate, with lots of different traditional flavors, and a host of specialty drinks with a full bar. It's not huge here, but it's one of the few bars in the area, and I would probably make it a staple given the cantinas in Newhall. I tried their sopes, which was 1 for $9.99 and was so friggin huge(I didn't even finish it), and the flavors were dialed in. Fresh and robust ingredients. Salsa was enjoyable too. I was initially craving a Michelada, which was what brought me here, and they happened to have the "Michelada Loka" which was pretty epic for $20. A Modelo and a Corona Michelada, upside down, in a large glass, adorned with shrimp, tajin, and chamoy. Totally my style, and reminds me of "Dos Pistolas" from "Los Originales" down the street, but I digress. I loved the drink but it was a bit pricey, but will definitely be back for it again. All in all, worth the $30 something bucks, I will be back, and if I was in my 20s I'd be here weekly. You should've try it if Hispanic bars are your thing. To each his own. Cheers'
