Taps & Barrels is a place with a lot of potential. The layout seems to encourage a lot of community with long tables meant for sharing with friends and strangers. There's also a nice couch section with a round center table where I saw a group of friends enjoy their visit. If you're into sports, there's several televisions around the perimeter that provide good view of the action. As my first time here, the staff is very kind in explaining how the process works. I was told that you can enter your phone number and then it allows you to scan the QR code on the table for food. The alternative is to walk up to the front counter to order. I wanted to learn how to do this process so I tried. I added the food item to the cart on my phone but when it came to checkout, I was unsure how to proceed. It asked me to add a credit card, yet I already had one opened on file for my visit. I went back up to the front and the team member was unsure so we handled the entire food ordering up front. I put in an order for the chili nachos and the size was quite decent with a lot of toppings. It's a good shareable to start. I also tried the sweet potato fries which I asked for more well done to ensure that they come out with some crisp. The sweet potato fries were actually a waffle and they did come out nice, hot and crispy - so that is a winner of an app! The pour yourself concept is interesting and it's nice that each sign provides information about the content and more info if you tap the screen - such as the general beer taste description. The glass shelf has several options. I didn't see any cold glasses which would have been a plus. The staff member said that you can sample beers by just pouring a little, but there were no small shot glasses to do this. Therefore, I was compelled to just go for it and pour 3 ounces to try a light lager. Sitting back at the table, I was almost certain that a new glass would be required for each visit. However, I saw everyone bring their own glass back up to refill each time. I didn't see any clear signage on site that explained the process. If refills are allowed - then I think that additional signage should also explain pouring etiquette as well. There's a water station for self serve as well. I appreciate the lids and straws that are also at the station. I would have loved to have some ice readily available but I'm sure it's probably just an ask as I saw others have ice in their drinks. The pricing per ounce reminds me of a self serve yogurt place in that the amount you get actually feels more expensive in the end. The per ounce feel makes you think it's a good deal, but it's on par or a hair over other places that pour for you. Overall, I think this is a cool concept to try and to show out of town friends if they don't have anything like this in their area. Also - I can see this being a great place if friends are going dutch as they can use their own card and everyone is responsible for their share. Lastly, if you don't like to commit 16 oz to just one beer, this is a great way to try several beers in one sitting. read more

**This review is for the beer and pour-your-own system only ** Generally, I'm not keen on pour-your-own beer bars but my wife and I were in the area and wanted to grab a beer. They had some stuff I haven't tried so figured it would be neat to check out. The glassware, taps and wall appeared clean but glassware style and size options were lacking and no indication of when the lines were last cleaned. Would be nice to have some 5oz "taster" glasses as an option at the least. Also, no offer of instruction on how to pour the beer (although I'm well versed in the proper pour) didn't inspire confidence that people weren't reusing glasses or touching the spouts while pouring. Beer didn't pour well on most taps, and one of the kegs kicked leaving me with a bunch of foam. Beer prices were a little high per ounce compared to a pint around town, but the fact you can pour almost any size pour means you'll pay a little extra. Options were decent with some beers I've not seen elsewhere in town. Overall, it's not a spot I'd visit again unless there was some special beer I couldn't find anywhere else in the city. read more

Daily happy hour from 4 PM to 6 PM Monday through Friday with daily specials like hummus and pita for $9 on Monday, $7 Mexican corn dip on Tuesday, $6 - 6 piece wings on Wednesday, $4 sweet potato fries on Thursday and $7 chili nachos on Friday. Stopped by on a Sunday night, and this was my 2nd time here which was so opposite from the first time I came here. The vibes were a lot more chill and all TVs were on and playing different sporting events: MLB, NFL, and NBA. The last time I was here on a Friday night there was a small party happening and live music. Lots of parking with indoor and outdoor seating, including high top seating and couch seating. We were helped by Vance who was friendly and very helpful with recommending beers and food to try. He recommended the Beerhouse Flatbread with prosciutto & fig, which was 10/10 exactly what we needed to drink our beers with. There's a wide range of beers, ciders, seltzers, and wines to choose from on the wall. I love pressing the info button on the screens to learn more about what I am drinking. I also love that it's a self-pour with different glasses so that you can control how much you want to pour. This is a great place for someone to try different things, especially if you're not sure what you like. As a beer and cider person, I would say that every drink that I had here was great with lots of choices for people who don't drink beers/ciders regularly. Would definitely come here again and would be fun as a date night or even with a large group too! read more

So yummy!! I am personally not a huge beer fan, but I'm so glad we tried this place out! It's like yogurtland meets beer and there's a large variety to choose from. You get a card, grab a glass, place the card in the designated area, and self serve from their rotation of flavors. I really liked being able to taste a bunch of different flavors without committing to a whole 8oz glass. Some stand outs for me were the Ube and Guava flavors, so yummy but on the sweet side. Prices varied and were per ounce, but I'd say most were around $0.75 an ounce with some on "sale" as low as $0.30 an ounce. We tried a lot of food dishes too from the nachos to the mexican corn dip to the wings and all of it was soo delicious!! Definitely on the pricier side, but I'd say most of it was shareable. They do have happy hour Monday-Friday for the drinks and various food happy hours throughout the week, so I'd take advantage of those. The interior is really open with lots of long tables to accommodate big groups. There's a few board games to check out behind the cashier. And the outdoor patio is great too. It's very upscale outside with water features and fire pits. Last but not least, the service here is great! Very friendly and accommodating. We were celebrating a birthday and they made us feel very welcome and helped us out with extra plates and forks for the cake. The only qualm I have with this place is that it closes too soon! I really hope they extend their hours past 10/11pm. I'll definitely be back though. read more

We stopped here because of a work get together and were very impressed. There was plenty of parking out front, and plenty of seating inside with tvs. The employee (I think Vance) was very friendly, helpful, and offered free tastings of a few of the beers. There was a good selection of beers, wines, etc to choose from as well. We tried the chips and salsa and the flatbread, and both were good. Overall, we were very impressed and wish they had one in the Centennial Hills area. read more

Taps & Barrell surprised me in the best way. The warm pretzel loaves and whipped butter board were insane - sweet, salty, creamy, and honestly the reason I'll be back. The toppings (dried fruit, nuts, herbs, microgreens) made it feel way fancier than it needed to be, and I loved it. Service was quick, vibes were cute, and the only thing I wanted was more pretzels because the board deserved unlimited carbs. Great spot for a casual-but-elevated bite. read more

This place was ok for me. I am not a beer person but my husband is. It was nice to hang out on the patio as the weather was perfect. It was very welcoming at first but towards the end the waiter got a little better. Tables were small outside and only had a high top or couch, no other tables not al height. There were a lot of beer options. It's a little pricey for the beers but there were so many options. They had some for a deal due to happy hour. The food was ok, typical bar food. I was sad the food was just bar food and there were not options. This is a better suited place for folks who like beer a lot only, and if you don't like beer, this place won't be appetizing. read more

Taps and Barrel is such a cool concept--think Yogurtland, but for beer, cider, and other drinks on tap. You can pour as much (or as little) as you want, sample different options, and even customize your drink. Whether you're a casual drinker or a beer enthusiast, it's a fun and interactive experience. I've been here in different settings--small groups, larger gatherings, and even hosting an event--and every time, I leave happy. I recently hosted a group of about 10 people, and it was awesome because no reservations or fees were required. The vibe is super casual but in the best way. That said, sometimes the place closes for private events or gets really busy, so I recommend calling ahead to make sure they're open to the public. The indoor space is great with long communal tables, but the outdoor patio is even better--fire pits, mountain views, and just an overall great atmosphere. As someone who doesn't drink much, I found it pretty affordable, but if you're someone who can really put back beers, it might not be the most budget-friendly place. This is one of the only places in Vegas where you can get really a really interesting variety of beer, have as little or as much as you want so you can taste like 10 beers in a night, and also just have a rare find. Great Notion (our personal favorite), Drekker, Delirium, and many more including all the local favorites. They also have a variety of your staple beers, though if you're coming here you should really be seeking something different. They also have a few wines, ciders, and usually a hard kombucha or mead. Ming and Matt and the rest of the crew (sorry I don't remember everyone's names) have always taken great care of us and our friends. While it isn't the cheapest night out, you just can't get these beers anywhere else in Vegas, except maybe Player One. The food is kind of just what it is - nothing too complex, but I usually just get fries or wings when I'm here. Frankly, their butter board and charcuterie are very good but not cheap options. The outside area is always super chill, and dog friendly as well. I didn't even mention this is a self-serve tap bar (only one in Vegas). read more

The server I forgot his name but he was very helpful! Even asked us if we wanted the music or the nfl game on (I chose the game). So many great beer selections; something for everyone, including fruity beers that are a good substitute for a soda lover, like me. Food is tasty and complimentary to the beers. I went here for my first time with two friends that are local. The place was pretty full on a Thursday evening because of a convention in town, but we were still able to get some seats. Matthew came out early on to let us know there were some large food orders being put in, but that he would try to help expedite ours within. We had some beers, and placed our order. Everything was really good. We got the farmhouse pepperoni flatbread, hot Hawaiian flatbread, brussel sprouts, portobello mushrooms, and warm corn dip. Absolutely love the concept of this place! You get a card, you pour your own beers. Try one or try them all and enjoy at your own pace! They charge by the oz, it varies by beer and you pay your total in the end. You can also keep track of how many oz's you've poured and how much you'll owe. They have a very nice variety of craft beers both local and from other states (there were a few favorites from AZ and CA) and there's plenty of options that there's hardly no wait to pour. The place has a great relaxed and fun vibe with comfy couch corners for a few people or tables for large groups and there's great music playing in the background Definitely found a new favorite and can't wait to return again and again. We came here for date night. I'll start there because the date night vibe was okay. It was laid back and open dining. Hi tops and couches. Lighting was a little bright, but you could find yourself still able to be relaxed. Once the sun start to set the vibe was nice. I enjoyed trying the different beer. I don't drink beer so the experience, could've been better for me if there were more cider choices. I believe there were about 3 cider choices when I went. I'm more of a cider drinker and was expecting more in that area. Food was a bit over priced for not really being prepared in a full service kitchen. It was more like the heat up type of food. Microwave or oven type. I think the food quality could have also enhanced the experience. Price for value of alcohol, was fair. Price for value of food, was a little over-priced. It's okay... beer was good but expensive. The salads were okay but basically a side salad for the price of a dinner salad. How can one ask for a tip when you are ordering and serving yourself? The tables and chairs are so uninviting. Don't bring grandma or grandpa or a short girlfriend because they can't sit in the tall seats. If you have any friends with physical disabilities you really can't eat or drink there. Even someone in their 20's won't sit and stay because the seating is so bad. Had 2 beers and 2 salads and it was over $60! I feel bad for the people that work there because no one is going to come in for much longer with how uncomfortable it is. The space itself has so much potential but they really need to make some changes. My back and a** still hurt from the chairs! I'd rather stand. read more

I love the concept and I love the space but the price of the beer can sneak up on you really quickly and although they have a large selection, I didn't really find too many that I actually enjoyed. That being said, I would definitely come back here and try the food that is offered and some of the other drinks. It is in a beautiful new complex next to Basilico Italiano Ristorante and their gorgeous patio and the building's outdoor fountain complex, which, when the weather is good, is beautiful to walk around and hang out by. The concept is you connect a credit or debit card to a plastic card which you can then use to scan at any of the multiple taps and pout your own drinks. Each drink has an LED screen which showcases the brewery, type of drink, and the price per ounce. Once you start pouring, your drink price appears on the screen. read more

Taps and Barrel is a pretty unique location that isn't to common in Las Vegas, as far as I'm concerned. Once you arrive you go straight to the front and get a tap card. This tap card is attached to your card and you can go to any of the taps they have to fill any beer you like. They have multiple types of cups which are good for specific beers. But if you aren't too knowledgeable about it, just pick a cup that you think is cool. From there go down and just choose your beer. There's many selections, and you can pretty much try them all with just a tap of a card. One thing that is actually pretty cool is that they have a sake tap, usually more to the right. I like getting a cup of that plus like a lighter beer and you're good to go. Food wise they have a really good charcuterie. It's a big pretzel along side with meats and cheeses. The mustard is really good and the brie/fig combo is also great too. The environment is really chill as you can sit anywhere you'd like, including a couple of couches which is pretty comfortable. We brought our dog a few times so we had to sit outside, but the outside is pretty spacious as well. When you're done, all you have to do is drop your tap card in a tip bucket which indicates how much you'd like to tip. After that you're all done! read more

Taps & Barrels is a good spot to hang out and sample a variety of beers to find your favorite. They have a menu of bar foods as well. Find them in the Evora complex, a few doors down from Lemontree Cafe. There is plenty of parking right in front. Maybe that will change once the complex is complete, but for now it's easy to park. This place is huge! There are mostly long tables with a few individual tables too. It'd be a good spot for two or a group. They have one small arrangement of couches. Here's how it works. It's similar to other by the ounce beer and wine places. A whole wall is lined with beer taps. You start a tab at the counter, get a card, and place your card at each tap to dispense. Each tap tells you how much it is per ounce. Once you dispense the beer the screen will tell you how many ounces and the cost of your sample. Perfect for tracking alcohol consumption and cost! I prefer their system over similar concepts for one main reason. You have a tab instead of a preloaded card. So you don't have to debate how to best use your money, have extra, or need to load the card again. Just sample as little or as much and pay at the end. The beers are tried were good. They had a lot of local breweries and some national ones too. I've heard they rotate beers to keep it interesting. I had some of the usual beers, but also tried some unique beers. I really enjoyed a chai beer, a cucumber beer, and several fruit beers. The food was okay, but I thought it would be a little better quality given that they are in a high end complex. Nothing was awful or a deal breaker to returning. I appreciate the variety of options for snacking or a whole meal while enjoying the beers. My favorite of my two food items was the Beet Salad. It had nice greens, nuts, goat cheese, and a tasty dressing. The Fish & Chips were disappointing because I had hoped for something made in house. My friend's big pretzel with dips did look good and I'd like to try the butter board. Taps & Barrels is a fun spot to hang out while trying some beers. I'd definitely consider it again for drinks when eating nearby or for an afternoon hangout with friends. read more
