Tapper chevy in paw paw sold my wife and I an extended warranty for our 2018 Chevy Travers. The old extended warranty was set to end at 100,000 miles. We were at 88,808 already and we were going to need a new one. Brent set up the new contract, and my wife and I were both told that the new contract would not start till the old contracted ended. Now we have to get work done on this SUV, and we found out that we lost that left over time from the old warranty which is about 12,000 miles. As far as I can see is that Brent lied to both my wife and I. this is a dishonest person that I will never work with again, and I suggest you stay away from Tapper too. read more

The main Tapper garage at the dealership is very helpful and great at what they do. However, if you need body work done, please steer clear of Tappers body shop west of the village on Red Arrow. An employee there by the name of Craig (or possibly Greg), he's an arrogant snot. Had body work needed due to someone hitting me in a parking lot. Wasted a trip there even after calling. He told me he had a loaner available. I get there (30mile drive one way)- nope, no loaner. He laughed and said that was NOT what he told me on the phone. I was on speaker phone during that call, and my spouse also heard, without a doubt, that Craig/Greg said there was a loaner available. After I call my insurance case worker to change the body shop I wanted to use for the repairs, I was told by the insurance rep that he had also spoken to the Craig/Greg earlier in the day and he told me that the guy was clueless how to work with insurance co to get repairs complete; of which the actual insurance guy comfimed there was a loaner available. Needless to say, I happily drove my vehicle to Holland to a helpful Chevy dealership/body shop. Was given a brand new loaner right off the lot to drive, and the dealer/body shop worked with my insurance company seamlessly. Tapper body shop is a joke. Go to DeNooyers. You'll be taken care of so much better, and not treated like sh!t from Craig/Greg. Tapper Chevy, I'd be very disappointed knowing that a guy like him represents your business. I had the greatest experience purchasing a vehicle here yesterday. My salesman, Dan, was kind, thoughtful, and easy going. He got answers for all my questions quickly and demonstrated exemplary customer service. I also got the experience to meet and interact with several members from the Service Department who didn't hesitate to welcome me and provide quotes and information on services. Angela the Service Manager was knowledgeable and running her group with efficiency and again, great customer service. Have purchased five new cars in the past few decades and must say that the experience at Tapper was - without question - the smoothest, most professional, lowest pressure experience of them all. Very disappointed. Bought a used 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan from Tapper 4 years ago. Last week the van started acting weird and rpm would rev but didn't go very fast. I called from work in Kalamazoo, described the problem and asked the service department what to do. They told me to have it towed to them by afternoon and they would have it looked at. At 4pm they were getting it hooked up to the diagnostic machine. The next day they said they got codes that it was some pump in the transmission... but they couldn't fix it. They do not have the tools to fix it. Now the bill is $90 and they recommend taking it to a Dodge dealer in Vicksburg. It SHOULD be ok to drive it there. I went in on Friday to pay for it and continue to try to figure out what to do. The service manager was there when I went in and I immediately asked why I had to pay $90 for them to diagnose my problem yet they could not fix it because they don't work on Dodge vehicles. His reply was "because we didn't know if it was a spark plug". I said if it was a spark plug I could have fixed that myself to which he replied "well why didn't you?". Because it was NOT a spark plug!!!!! So now I pay $90 and now when I take it to a Dodge dealership I will be charged another $90? Again, a sarcastic reply of "oh, it will be more than that! Seriously?? My issue here is they should have been up front in the beginning and told me to have it towed to a dealership who would be able to do whatever work I needed. It is obviously a transmission issue. They wasted my time and money! Not to mention the demeaning way he talked to me. I am still out of a vehicle for at least another week while a dealership I have no relationship with takes care of my problem. we are looking at getting 2 vehicles this year and I will never buy another vehicle from Tapper. My wife has taken her Cruze into this dealership twice now for oil changes and had a piss poor experience both times. The first time about a year and a half ago she didn't have an issue with the service, but the woman checking her car in repeatedly entered the VIN wrong, when the car wouldn't come up in the system, because this woman kept keying in the VIN wrong, the woman became irate and all but accused my wife of driving a stolen vehicle (I know it sounds ridiculous but its so ridiculous I couldn't even make this up). We had been taking it to seelye in south haven since, however, they urged us to try tapper again as it is now under different ownership (apparently now the same owners as seelye). Well the wife just got back from there and the car smelled like a tire fire, I immediately popped the hood worried we had a fire. No fire, the lube tech spilled about 2 quarts of oil all over the exhaust manifold, turbine housing, and catalytic converter. So thanks Tapper for making my wife's car smell like a dumpster fire and reminding us once again that you are the worst GM dealer in southwest Michigan... read more
