Costilla Confitadas Con Salmorejo Canario (4 hr slow cooked confit pork spare ribs, salmorejo canario, brava sauce)
K M.

Took me back to Spain! Just got back from a trip to Spain and was really craving some good tapas. The place and food definitely made me feel like I was back in streets of Barcelona! My fiancé and I booked a reservation via their website and arrived on a Thursday night. They offered half priced glasses of Sangria. There was no flamenco show as it only happens on Fridays and Saturdays ($5 entrance fee), but the waitress let me take a peak of the students practicing downstairs below the restaurant. Their menu was slightly different than what they offered on their website - some news items and others removed. We ordered 4 dishes, all of which were delicious! If our bellies had enough space, we would have ordered another! Our favourites ended up being the chorizo and the pulled pork. The meat of the ribs was sooo tender and fell right off the bones. That's not to say the bacon wrapped dates was not just as good! I'd probably try a different croquette option next time, but my fiancé loved it! I'm surprised the place was not that full. In my opinion, its waaay better than the overpriced spots on King West or Richmond Hill. Staff were nice, fast service (we were in and out within an hour), food was authentic, and prices were reasonable. What's not to love? We'll certainly be coming back for more!

I had a reservation at Tapas at Embrujo for 6:45 pm NYE, and despite the restaurant not being full, at 7:34 pm, they asked us to vacate the table for another reservation, "WTF" ruining our New Year's Eve plans. We ordered our last 2 tapas, but 15 minutes later, they informed us they had to cancel our order due to needing the table urgently. The rush was unnecessary, and we would have ordered quickly if we knew we had only 50 minutes TO EAT. Adding insult to injury, we were charged for a 20-minute show, OF COURSE and the gratitude was included. This experience has left me extremely angry and has completely ruined my New Year's celebration. Additionally, Google suggests "plan your visit: People typically spend 1.5-2.5 hours here"

Tapas at Embrujo now offers a great takeout menu. Sharing pics of my food I plated at home. The menu is very reasonably priced, top quality with generous portions with most Tapas from $6 to $14. Paella Bomba for One is loaded with mussels, Shrimp, Chicken and Chorizo Sausage....for only $24.50 is enough for Two! As for the Tapas, one of my faves here is the Bacon wrapped Dates with honey ....I love this combination of sweet and savoury ($8.95). I also had the Solomillo al Whiskey....a beef tenderloin sous vide for 4 hours is so flavourful and tender served with fries in a garlic whiskey sauce .....incredible especially priced at $14. For pick up orders call the restaurant ahead direct at 647 705-7880. For delivery check out the online menu on @doordash ___

An easily overlooked spot at the furthest western reach of the Danforth, this Tapas bar has good food and live entertainment. We had an early birthday bite here and caught the flamenco show before heading out for drinks. The Sangria and shrimp dishes were my personal favourites, as were the bacon wrapped dates. The Paella was good but just a bit salty. Overall a fun place to kick off the evening.

Stopped by before a concert event midweek, so predictably it was quiet. Still, the service was cheerful and she helpfully explained to us the menu and helped us make choices. Highlights: - Boquerones (anchovies) and the crispy bread are just a divine combination - That whiskey sauce (on the potato pie and steak frites): it was so tasty that we ordered another item just to have more of it Pretty tasty: The goat cheese with herbs and honey had the right balance of rich creamy, savoury and sweetness. Wish there were just 2 more pieces of bread. The fries were really good too (especially with the sauce), and for the price, the steak was cooked fine and not chewy. If the tortilla de patatas was fresh out of the oven or however they do it, it would have definitely been a highlight, but the flavours were still there. Low light: I think I'm used to different types of croquettes but the shrimp croquette really did not do it for me or my dining partner. Would come back to try their paella and drink some of their whiskey sauce.

(4.5/5) We came here for an anniversary dinner. As we had a concert at 7pm, we made a reservation for 5pm. At this point, the restaurant was fairly empty. There was only one waiter, and as the dinner rush began, we experienced longer wait times. However, I really appreciated the level of service he was able to maintain. Paellas take a while, so we ordered the Paella Valenciana right off the bat. We then decided on "Solomillo al Whiskey" (beef tenderloin) & "Cangrejo de Concha Suave" (soft-shell crab). We initially wanted crab croquettes, but unfortunately they were sold out. The tapas were certainly the highlight of the meal for me. The beef was extremely tender, with fabulous flavours thoroughly infused. The soft-shell crab was delicious on its own, but the alioli really elevated the dish. The paella was good, but it didn't blow me away. It was quite a large portion, and we couldn't finish it between the two of us. Overall, the food and atmosphere created for a lovely dinner. An amazing option on Danforth.

Went to this restaurant for lunch today. The food was decent, and the pork rib was good. However, I was surprised that they charged $1.50 for a cup of hot water on the bill. Most places won't charge it.

Tonight my friends and I went to Tapas at Embrujo for Summerlicious and we had an ok experience. THE AMBIENCE: 3-Stars The ambiance was nice and we enjoyed the way the restaurant was set up. ENTERTAINMENT: 2-Stars Halfway through our meal, performers started playing music very loudly. People throughout the restaurant began asking for their bills to leave. I even asked the waiter if he could turn down the speaker a little bit and he said no. Luckily, I had ear plugs in my purse (from IMSA the weekend before) but I still felt deaf after they stopped playing the music. It was way too loud and made simple conversation a struggle. THE FOOD: 3-Stars We all ordered the anchovies appetizer. It tasted quite salty but had lots of flavour. I was surprised at the vast flavour pallet in this one small dish. I would definitely order this again. Ironically, we each ordered the paella for our main dish. The paella was presented nicely on a bed of rice and it had a very nice flavour. Towards the end of my dish, I noticed it was also quite salty but as an entree once in a while, it should be okay. For dessert we got interesting. We each ordered something different. I ordered the flan and wasn't too impressed by it. It started to upset my stomach and the texture seemed a little off. This is definitely a dish you would order if you have a sweet tooth. One of my friends ordered the Spanish Almond Cake and said it tasted stale. She said it was really hard and she could have done a better job making a cake herself. I saved the best for last. Our other friend ordered the goat cheese fritters with honey and she said it was ok but not amazing. SERVICE: 2-Stars The service was not up to par. The waiter was really nice but he forgot to bring us a jug of water numerous times throughout the evening. I would ask and have to remind him 20-30 minutes later and then repeat. GRAND SCORE: 2.5 Stars Honestly I am glad we came here for Summerlicious because I don't think I would go back to this restaurant again.

A beautiful Spanish restaurant where we were invited to preview Chef and owner Jose Salgado's New Years Eve Tapas Menu. Tapas(Small Spanish savoury appetizers or snacks that are served with Bar drinks. Traditionally in standing-only bars people used to cover their drinks with their plates because of lack of space. Hence it's called Tapas(where Tapa is "a cover/lid). Tapas now rather evolved as a sophisticated cuisine. These dishes are meant to be shared, hence all the bloggers were seated and the dishes were served one by one where we shared and tasted it over a glass of Sangria. Naming few dishes which you can spot in the pictures from left to right: 1) Rioja Wine with cinnamon spiced poached pear 2) King of Jerez(bourbon, Torres Brandy, and Sherry) 3) Paella Bomba ( saffron rice with chicken, shrimps and mussels) 4) Goat cheese stuffed in roasted red pepper 5) Sauteed shrimp In romesco sause) 6) Squid ink ravioli with crab meat 7) lemon and almond tart A lot in the menu which you can find out on www.tapastembrujo.com Tickets are sold through Eventbrite or directly through the restaurant. There are two seatings. The first seating is $75 pp until 8:30 pm. Second seating is anytime after 8:30 pm at $85 pp includes Champagne Toast at Midnight and the traditional 12 grape countdown. *Includes Flamenco Performance

One of the best Paella I've ever had. Paella is hard to get the flavours right and not make it too bland or overly salty and this place did it right, it was perfectly seasoned, meat was moist, seafood was well cooked and I really loved the crispy bits of the rice stuck on the bottom of the pan that you can scrape up. I also really loved their appetizer of bacon wrapped date with honey, I could eat a handful of those and still want more. They've also got some great cheese and meat charcuterie boards and some delicious red sangria. They've also got live entertainment on certain days and all they ask is if each person spends a minimum of $30 which I think is very reasonable for authentic and delicious food and entertainment of Flamenco dancing.

CROQUETAS DE CANGREJO (crab)

This tapas restaurant is fantastic! We ordered a number of dishes so that we could sample the variety of the menu. I even ordered the anchovies to have an "Anthony Bourdain" moment--he really talked them up in that Catalonia episode. The service is very attentive without smothering. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Beso by Patria offers a really enjoyable Spanish dining experience…read more The Paella Patria was fragrant and flavorful, with fresh Argentinian shrimp and purple mussels. The saffron-infused rice soaked up the rich seafood broth perfectly. You can ask the staff to remove the shells if you want to eat more elegantly. The Spanish Octopus was tender and meaty--so fresh, I could have eaten more! I also tried the 36-month aged Joselito Iberico ham. Even though it's not my usual favorite, it was rich, flavorful, and paired nicely with the optional little crisp toasts. The baked white asparagus was a highlight, fresh and flavorful with a touch of minced meat that elevated the dish. The 16oz beef rib steak was cooked well done but still tender and juicy, and the accompanying little peppers added a subtle kick without being overwhelming. The restaurant's atmosphere is dim and cozy, perfect for dates or small gatherings. The staff were enthusiastic, checking in frequently, and even the management stopped by to make sure everything was going smoothly. Overall, a very satisfying meal with a good mix of flavors and textures.

Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially with friends so we can order more and share.

This is probably one of the worst meals I've had this year…read more First off, my friends had been here the year before and loved it. So I joined them for dinner this year. A few good things - the restaurant is very lovely- large space, beautifully designed, open kitchen to see the cooks, and the staff were lovely! But the food, oh man. First, if you want to order paella, do so right away as they tell you it takes 40minutes. That way once you're done with apps and chatting with your friends, it will be done Ok - food wise, we ordered a bunch of apps and the mushroom paella (there was a vegetarian in the group). - the beet & ricotta app/bread. This was tiny - like half a beet chopped up, with a fig, and a few dollops of ricotta that had limited taste - the salmon tartare (probably the best app) had salmon, a few capers, and razor thin chips - patatas bravas - a potato dish. Meh. At least the potatoes were crispy. - the mushroom paella- no taste lol. I had one scoop and honestly that was enough for me. There was plenty leftover. Even tried adding hot sauce but it couldn't save the dish Save your appetite and money.

Came here on a Thursday night and was surprised at how busy it was for a weekday. Despite that, the service was excellent! Staff were friendly off the bat and very attentive after each dish was finished, making sure to wipe off the table or exchanging the plates which I was really impressed with despite how busy they were. We decided to go with their tasting menu where you gave them a price range you wanted to stick to - I believe it was $85-$200, and you can mention some dishes you definitely want to try and they curate the rest for you which I thought was so unique! I loved the idea of that. The dishes we really wanted were the octopus, bone marrow and scallops. The only standout dishes to me were the scallops, and a salad I cannot remember the name of but was so shocked at how good just a simple salad could be. Other than that, the other dishes were still good, but nothing extraordinary to be honest. The octopus was a bit too charred which was disappointing as it was what I was looking forward to the most. The tasting menu we got also had mainly vegetable dishes (other than the ones I just mentioned), so was hoping to get a few more meat dishes. This is definitely a great spot for vegetarians as it had a lot of veggie dishes. I would still come back to maybe try some of their other more meat focused dishes. Overall, I still had a great time and can't stress enough how lovely our waitress and the rest of the staff were!

The paella is made to order and is cooked in front of you though so maybe they don't have their QA locked in. Our experience was great. Super flavorful.
