I had seen great reviews on yelp, so I was super excited to come after a day out on the water. We were just coming for a small snack and thought it would be a quick stop. The reason we didn't like this place was because the service was terrible. We went around 2pm on a Friday, so it wasn't super busy at all. We got drinks right away but after the waitress vanished for about 15 minutes. People that came in after us got their orders in before us and finished eating before we even got ours. The waitress just disregarded our table but continued to help the tables surrounding us. We never got any refills or anyone checking in. After eating we waited another 15 min for the check. The food was okay. Similar to a five guys in how they have a simple menu. Fries were soggy and not crispy. Cheeseburger was good but they didn't put bacon on it like requested but still charged for it. Funnel cake was a huge portion size but didn't have much flavor. By the time we received it, it wasn't even warm. I've had better ones from state fairs. The worst part was that the gratuity was already factored into the total. We unknowingly had to tip 18% for terrible service for a party of four. Usually most places state if tip is included for parties over a certain number. So overall it took us over an hour and fifteen to eat there even though we only ordered four things. Very disappointed. read more

I love the simplicity that they deliver your food in a doggy bag. Here's the protocol: Check off on the piece of paper what you want. Choice of: burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches starting at $5. Add as many toppings as you want for free!! I've had the veggie burger on more than one occasion and the hot dog in a hamburger bun is genius!!! We've also tried the wings, which are very good, but I do think they are the only item that is overpriced (6 for $9). Otherwise, Bulliet Bourbon drinks are always $4 and turn to $3 during happy hour. Checkin the reviews on yelp,this was my go to destination on the VI before we left home . I had planned to travel the 20 minutes to the Tap and Still in Red Hook but to my surprise they have a second location right near the cruise ships! whoo hoo When we arrived on VI the rest of my crew wanted to go to the beach and I was out voted so sadly as I started to climb on the truck/taxi thing my sister said her husband Tim was staying behind so I gladly jumped off the truck and tossed the girls some money for the cab and we started walking and I noticed signs for the Tap and Still I was wondering if maybe they had like a shuttle to Red Hook or something but low and behold there was one right there!!!! My Bullet Rye whiskey is their house drink! This just keeps getting better! $4 bucks for a double at 11 am in the VI life is good! a bit later my brother and his family was walking by ans spotted us they were heading to the Skyride to Paradise Point the waitress got us a couple more to go and got them drinks and we headed off to the Skyride. After the Skyride we met up with my wife back at T&S for anther beverage and a patty melt which was recommended by a guy at the bar with us who is a crew member on another cruise ship that was in port too. the food was good the peeps were cool and we staggered back to the ship. Beef, bun, veggies all good and made to your liking. Wife and I debate who has better fries and/or onion rings. Staff is fairly attentive, but the place does get busy, and this is an island... so be patient. Tap and Still is the place if you want a view out the back to see a few boats, a larger beer selection and has a few more tourists. Top notch burgers. Arguably the best burger on the island. You can get a delicious double quarter pound cheese burger with bacon for $10, and all the toppings you can handle for no extra charge. Just like my review for the Tap & Still in Red Hook, the Havensight location EASILY earns this 5 star review! The burgers at this location are just as amazingly tasty as the OG in Red Hook, and a huge plus of this new establishment is there is much more space to accommodate the hungry masses that come here! Every time I have been to this location its been packed, however I have always gotten a table when needed or a spot at the bar thanks to all the glorious room that the Red Hook location just doesn't have! Big plus! I have to say I think the burgers at Tap & Still are the best on island....simple, no fuss, just good quality ingredients and awesome meat makes for one tasty burger!! I used to get their regular cheeseburger, however lately I have really been loving the bacon double chee, might as well go all out when the burgers are this good!! Have to say, I'm not a fan of the fries, just a little too greasy and soggy for me, but I know a lot of people (my husband included) that love them, so give 'em a try and see for yourself. I'm a purist, just give me a burger and I'm happy! They also have one awesome funnel cake for dessert as well, sometimes I break down and get one of those, they are sooo good, just like the kind you get at the county fair! What can be wrong about deep fried dough covered in powdered sugar? Heaven!! You'll be delivered a fantastic burger (or in my case, hot dog) and a butt ton of fries. The fries are hot, salty, and come in a bag. So does your burger.
