The cabin felt super homey and had everything we needed (kitchen stuff, fire starter, wood, etc.), which made it really easy to cook. It was also VERY clean, the restroom and shower was a huge plus. We brought our dog and she had the best time, they even provided treats and bowls which was so thoughtful. It was also nice that we still had cell service. We'd definitely come back

SUCH a great spot for a mini getaway. We came here with our two dogs (one 60lb, and one 40lb) and…read moreit was very tight, but very comfy. PROS: Most everything in our cabin seemed super clean and newer (we stayed in Esther). I was surprised at how nice the bathroom & shower were as well, given the amount of space they had to utilize. Once the water got warm (less than 5 min), I had a blazing hot shower with great pressure. I didn't use the shampoo or conditioner- but the body wash smelled so amazing!!! The little kitchen is well appointed for the space. A water kettle, some dishes and a small fridge. We always like to bring our own food & beverages- and I was surprised at how much I could fit in there! Our view was pretty epic from the outside and the bed (*minus at night- if you're sensitive to lights like I am, bring an eye mask to sleep with, as the home in the distance has some bright exterior lights!). This cabin is situated in a great little spot. Pretty private, with space for the dogs. The fire pit is so awesome, easy to use and they supply you with all that you need to start it and roast some yummy smores. CONS: There are lots of flies and tiny bugs (obviously because you're in nature)- but it would be handy to have thought to bring the anti-bug coils/repellants. The bed is comfortable to some I'm sure- but we are picky and it wasn't amazing for us. There's only ONE standard plug in power outlet & 2 usb (not mini!) by the door/table. Nothing near the bed or in the kitchen area- so plan accordingly. Also, there was no mirror anywhere in the cabin- and I only realized this once I went to take my contacts out for the night. So if you wear contacts or like to put on a splash of makeup before, heading into the little town... Bring your own! Overall, I'd give this place an eight out of 10. Super cute... Love that it was dog friendly... Gorgeous surroundings... We would definitely come again Insider hack: request Tom, Mary, or the cabins near Mary for the best views!!

We had an extremely disturbing experience at this hotel…read more After staying two nights, we discovered a large bed bug in our room (photo attached). This was not a tiny insect that just arrived. It was a fully grown bed bug, which strongly suggests an established infestation. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. When we reported it to management, the owner/office manager immediately tried to accuse us of bringing them, stating things like "they don't get there by themselves" and referencing his age and personal history instead of addressing the actual issue. This was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive. For context, I am 8 months pregnant, and we were visiting my husband's hometown. The last thing anyone in that situation should have to deal with is arguing with a hotel about basic cleanliness and safety. Eventually we were given a refund, but only after an uncomfortable interaction where responsibility was deflected rather than taken seriously. Bed bugs are a serious issue that require immediate and professional treatment. Instead of blaming guests, the priority should be properly inspecting and cleaning rooms to ensure no one else goes through this. Travelers should be aware and check their rooms carefully.

I can tell they likely renovated the rooms within the last few years. They have a modern feel to them and include a microwave and mini-fridge. They are very simple with the bare necessities (a few toiletries and towels). The room didn't have a hair dryer but they could have one at the front (I didn't ask). The bed and floors were clean, however the shower curtain was smudged with a previous person's makeup which was kind of gross. No cable or linked streaming service on the TV, just the free TV channels that come with the manufacturer. We stayed on the lower level and heard a lot of footsteps above us in the morning so beware the noises do travel. Parking is easy with a lot behind the back of the motel.

She put the reservation under my name and wanted to confirm so she called ahead of time. The manager there was extremely rude and was arguing with her that he wasn't going to do anything unless hotels.com called him. My sister sent me the confirmation that it was under my name and the guy still had an attitude and wouldn't look at it until he realized it was change on his computer. Then I asked what the office hours were and he said 24 hours but after a certain time he won't answer only for emergencies. I don't understand why anyone else would even bother bugging other than emergencies. He said they offer room service but you have to let them know ahead of time. Our room still had leftover shampoo, conditioner and soap that was there from the previous person. The power was shut down for the city and the manager didn't bother letting anyone know or pass out flyers warning us. I found out from locals that they were shutting it down. This place needs a new manager because I wouldn't stay here again because of his lack of customer service and communication.

Now, I don't go…read morethere for wedding festivities, therefore, can't review on that, but I do go to enjoy a couple of days of relaxation. Since I've now visited this place often, I can totally say that unfortunately nothing much has changed. The rooms are not updated the way they should be, get rid of the dirty carpet already I would say. The bathrooms need a lot more updating than placing a new shower head and think that will do the trick. Doesn't work that way. The sink still has a huge crack in it as far as 3yrs ago. Attention to details is not the owner's forte at all and it's now pretty obvious that it will remain so. Flowers outside the entrance should be real, again, 3yrs and they still have the fake flowers in their pots, fake flowers, even fake flowers need changing after a while especially when the sun is strong in the summertime, fake flowers will fade the colors away. Just buy some inexpensive REAL flowers already, it can't be that hard to water them and would make the entrance look much nicer. Still having those annoying barking dogs come right up to you, totally wrong to say the least. The whole place, the front desk especially does not look clean at all, and the fact that they serve breakfast which by the way I assume they have a permit to do so and charge you the same amount of money that other restaurants around the area do, is absolutely ridiculous to say the least. Who's even cooking it for you? Regardless, they shouldn't charge you so much. What's totally wrong as well, is when you stay here, the owner or whomever is helping at the time, they use the kitchen to make themselves breakfast, the smell of it goes right up to your room as early as 6am, and it wakes you up. I understand they need to eat but you have guests staying here and I am almost sure that no one wants to smell bacon and eggs as early as 6am, especially when it's not even a weekend when that is the ONLY time they offer breakfast. Totally uncalled for. The other bad experience this time, it was quite cold, so we went to our room sooner than we normally would have wanted to, but there is a TV so we just wanted to relax and watch a movie, the TV wasn't coming on, it took and no kidding here 2 hours before the TV started working, there was no signal for 2 hours, 10pm no one is at the front desk any longer so we couldn't get help and I wasn't going to bother even if I could have since the TV should work properly. We also wanted some tea before bedtime, I couldn't believe how dirty the coffee machine was, just disgusting to say the least, so we didn't get any tea as I was not in the mood to clean up for the owner who should take the time to look at everything around this very small area, and make sure everything is clean for her guests, it's not a huge area at all and everything is at a very minimum space, two steps from the front desk is where they finally by the way, after years, have a coffee machine, yet, it's too much to keep it clean and neat. Other places around the area, offer continental breakfast daily, some offer some sort of muffins, this place only offers coffee/tea unless you stay in the weekend when they rip you off charging you prices like a real restaurant, and after all it looks and feels of total lack of caring, and no attention to details at all. The owner got lucky to have this property and it's sad to see how very little enthusiasm she cares to put into it. You don't need much to show that you care and want to make the place look presentable, nice and clean. As far as I now can see having visited often, it's so obvious that the owner only cares to make money, raises the prices as most do I get it, but other than that can't care less about how the place is kept. Even the outside where you can sit and look at the beautiful views, totally dirty both on the floors and some of the chairs they have outside for you to sit on, just carelessness is all I can keep stating. I recall staying here in one summer, 2yrs ago to be exact, she had a temp helping while she was on vacation. It was a nightmare, and I am sure the owner knows nothing about it. Let's just say that the temp was mostly upstairs with her boyfriend then downstairs, the bell on the desk, well, it was used quite often if you ever needed anything at all. I'll leave it at that. There was much more and all unpleasant. But the owner needed the vacation. This place has a lot of potentials; it is an old house turned Hotel but it could be spectacular if the owner would really try to put more effort into and turn it into what it could be. Of course, if you are not happy, go elsewhere I'm sure is the attitude. The views are spectacular for sure; however, they are not the Lake Views, they are the city view's, therefore, if you want the Lake View since you are at Lake Arrowhead after all, that's not what you'll get, nevertheless, they are beautiful.

We were greeted by Chris and given a tour of the spaces available to us which included a kitchenette stocked with snacks and goodies (midnight cereal, YES!), a wide selection of DVDs and board games. The room had a little fireplace, lounge room, large bathroom (no bathtub) and a super cozy bed. The ONLY thing that was less than perfect as that the blanket was a tiny stuffy smelling. We very much enjoyed this B&B. Be sure to check out the Belgian Waffle and the Village just across the way.

So, it was strange when this happened: After a really bad booking and check-in experience at Fleur De Lac European Inn, where the owner asked me to leave after wanting extra cash on top of existing booking, when I already paid via another booking website (**at check in, mind you)... walking in and talking with Karen, the owner/manager of 21 years, was a sweet relief from the chaotic energy from Fleur. Karen greeted me with respect, laughs, patience, and a room (#28) that was head and shoulders above anything Fleur was offering, and it was for a similar price. She and room 28 made me feel welcomed, and Karen made sure I had everything I needed, after a bad experience. I would go back just to talk with her, and her staff. Honorable mention is Michael, who was such a positive and humorous energy at the desk. The bartendress, forgive me for not catching her name, was wonderful and welcoming, as well. It's a shame they shut down the bar area around 9pm. It's a place you want to cozy up to, late into the night, and exchange stories well into the evening hours. This was our first trip to Lake Arrowhead and I'm so glad this is where we chose to stay! Peaceful elegance & luxury are words that come to mind as I think about our experience here. They both also have incredible pride in their beautiful hotel (as do all the other employees we interacted with - and that pride is definitely justified!) Both of these ladies contributed to our wonderful experience here - THANK YOU! We stayed in room 17 which had a fireplace, a bedroom and a loft. It was a bit of a walk up the hill but was secluded and we really loved it. There are so many activities they offer here (that we didn't have time to do) - tennis, pickleball, ping pong and so much more. We did however take a hike on the back of their property on the nice trails they have. Another highlight is the indoor jacuzzi with a fireplace, which made it super cozy on a cold night. We absolutely love this place and will definitely be back.
