Came in to get a short vacay tan. I called to see what the timeframe was like and they were able to fit me in for my first Versa Sunless Tan session. I also saw one of the New Client specials for a BOGO1/2 off deal. I called the day before and knew to bring loose clothing for after the tan session. I had a few questions and Stacey the owner helped guide me on the types of tanning sessions offered, asked how well I tan or burn using this laminated guide sheet just to determine what I wanted. I chose the darkest. Level 4 with a Bronzer not Clear so I could see some darkness immediately and with a moisturizer at the end since sunless tanning products can be drying. She told me do's and dont's to prolong the tan, when I could shower, wait to shower a few hours(which I did the next day since it was already later in the evening if I waited 6 hours), what types of lotions not to use and what to expect. I also bought a tan extender lotion on the less expensive side since I wasn't into frequent tanning. Stacey was very helpful with choosing which product to fit my budget and needs. After signing some disclosure/consent forms, we walked to the back to the Versa machine. She walked me thru how to use the machine and listening to the prompts of where to stand, what to expect, how to use the barrier cream, putting the shower cap and the flat feet protectors which I also purchased. Lastly, how to dry off with the floor fan if I needed to. I watched the video, prepped myself and went into the machine. I stood where I was supposed to according to the voice prompts, listening to when it was gong to spray and there were several rounds of this. After it was over, I used the fan and looked in the mirror. My back and back of legs seemed hardly bronzed and I mentioned to Stacey that I didn't hear the prompt tell me to stand on one of the side poses? It all seemed fast and I was a bit overwhelmed plus I was holding my breath when it told me it was spraying. The front face down to my quads seemed tanned but my shins seemed hardly touched? My arms already had some color to begin with and I esp. noticed my face was darker which was nice. I was just disappointed in my back and legs. Stacey did check up on me since I was taking longer prepping and the machine turned off. She told me to just let her know and just to press the button & it's good to go. When I got home, I just relaxed on my recliner and was trying to be careful not to rub off anything. I did see lines of lighter skin in the folds of my knees because I did have to squat/bend down at home? That was there for a couple of days so I used the tan extender to help it out. Kind of a bummer. As far as the longevity, I'd say with the tan extender I got maybe 5 days. Stacey did say that some people choose to spray their legs another time if they want it darker. My back wasn't dark, though? I don't know if I'm supposed to choose all dark no matter what the next time since now I know what to expect? I have another session so I know what to expect but will listen carefully to the prompts and just turn forward and backward instead of trying to stand sideways. I'll keep it simple. Store has some clothes in a boutique setting so you could peruse that section. 4-stars for service, 3-stars for results. read more

Found this when I was looking for a spray tan for my upcoming trip. I called and Stacey answered all the questions I had because I had never gotten a spray tan before. I had a week before my trip and I live an hour away so after much thought I actually decided to go with the tanning beds instead of the spray tan. Oh Tansations! You are one of a kind! As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted with a smile and loads of help! The salon is filled with amazing products such as clothing that you really can't find anywhere else that is in style now, a nice collection of face products by the infamous Farm House Fresh, and the cutest jewelry! They have some of the best tanning beds I have ever laid my eyes on and can't compare to the other tanning salons in San Antonio. The bed I am in love with is the level 6 bed which has absolutely ZERO UVB which there is no other bed in San Antonio that can offer that! The lady was very helpful and gave me an outstanding tour of the salon and was very thorough with explaining everything in detail! Great service and great quality beds! A+ in my book! I don't know what happened to my other review. Well Emma was the one who helped me today and she is awesome. She is kind, engaging, friendly and knowledgeable of their beds and memberships. I went to a competitor and they were a joke. one location had a bubblehead who couldn't put a thought together and the other location had 2 girls who were preoccupied with their cell phones. So thank you Emma, who more than made up for my bad experiences. I hope this company takes care of her, she is a RARE GEM. read more

I had never been to a tanning salon before, so I was completely clueless about any and all things to do with fake tanning. The girl who was working when I came in for the first time a few days ago (wish I had grabbed her name!!) was SO sweet and knowledgeable, I was blown away. She explained the different packages and tanning beds to me, then gave me a tour of the salon. She also helped me pick out a tanning lotion after describing to me what benefits they gave. I felt so comfortable the whole time! I've only been back once so far, but the other girl working was also so sweet and answered my questions! I have had a membership here for the past couple years and not one complaint! I do also freeze my membership on and off and the charges go towards my next month when I start up again, can't beat that. I've tanned at multiple salons and tansations is extremely clean and has high quality beds. I've never once thought the bulbs were dull or that anything was unsanitary. Great family owned business so prices are reasonable! The owners succeed in making personal connections with customers and helping them find exactly what they're looking for! I've gotten endless compliments on my tan since I joined last spring. Ive always had very fair skin and problems with acne. With the facial tanners in the higher level beds, my skin has turned golden and my face has completely cleared up! With the great advice and sincere care they provide, I find it impossible to believe that anyone couldn't achieve the same results. Terrible tanning beds, high pricing, and charge you even if you freeze or cancel your membership. Clothes are unattactive and expensive as well. And it always has an unpleasant odor as soon as you walk in the door. The whole place could use an update, especially thier difficult to slide open/close/lock doors to the tanning rooms. Owner does the bare minimum and fees are not comparable to what is offered. read more

I am so pleased with my experience with tansations! I wasn't sure how well my skin would react because I've never tanned before, but the employees were very understanding and managed the time for me so that I wouldn't burn. At first I was hesitant because I wanted results fast and didnt want to wait by going for a lower time, but I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't burning and I was getting tan! I was definitely nervous going into tansations, I tend to burn pretty easily and had no idea what to expect. But all of the girls who worked there were very helpful and answered all my questions and even though I was a nervous newbie, they made me feel very comfortable! And my results were way better than I could have hoped for! I was expecting to either burn or for nothing to happen. But after just the first time I was already receiving compliments that I was looking tan (something I NEVER hear). 3 weeks later I couldn't be happier with my results, I haven't burned once and I get told I look tan on a daily basis! I absolutely love tansations, I found them by a sign advertising a special and decided to try it out! After my week special I bought a month membership for the level one bed and it worked very well. After a few weeks one of the workers asked me if I wanted to try and upgrade to the mega bed and informed me about how much better it would work so I payed the difference between the level 1 and level 3 beds! After trying the level 3 bed I have used it ever since it works so well and is never uncomfortable! The workers there are so sweet and actually get to know you , unlike the people at palm beach where I used to tan! They even gave me a deal that if i bought two months i would recieve one month free! The enviorment is nice and inviting !The staff there are amazing and always inform me about deals and specials they are having! I would 100% recommend tansations and I have to about 3 other people who now tan there ! I can guarantee anyone who tanned there would be very satisfied ! read more
