What a cute name is Bo Thai (bowtie)! After finding out the connection it has to Home in the city…read more(my absolute favourite for thai in Sydney!) there was no stopping me in checking out this little place on the North Shore. Overall it didn't quite meet the level of Home, however the food was still pretty damn good. And on top of that, the staff at Bo are so lovely and hard working. Really great service which is one up Home and actually pretty hard to come by with the city staff. Bo was ridiculously busy, mainly with the continuous stream of takeaway/delivery orders, yet the staff managed to speed through it all with a smile on their face. Having a craving for som tam but also fearing the level of spiciness I had to go through, it was actually quite a relief that it wasn't too bad in heat. Still hot but manageable. Felt the serving was a little small for the price though. However, would still recommend as it was tasty. Also got the pad thai which was not very hot although should have been a little, but I enjoyed it. It was definitely quite heavy on the sauce and a little too sweet but on this occasion I didn't mind the strong flavours. Nice big serving also. The rice and noodles are definitely good options to fill you up as they were both sufficient servings, and I have to say the fried rice here is really really tasty at that. Not as salty or spicy as the others, but just the right level and a fried rice you wouldn't mind having again. I think this place is great, and a fantastic option for Thai in Crows Nest.

Great for a group booking. The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a banquet menu. All of the dishes were delicious, so flavoursome and if you enjoy a bit of spice even better. I especially enjoyed the cap moo and som tam as starters The cap moo - pork crackes with spicy chicken mince. The som tam the papaya salad. Always a favourite of mine, with fresh vibrant flavour and that chilli kick. For the main I most enjoyed the morning glory, great song by oasis and a great dish. Don't let the name put you off. A tasty dish of tempura water spinach topped with prawns and fresh salmon roe. The crispy fried spinach, so good. The lamb larb their signature dish, succulent lamb cutlets coated in a crispy spicy crust, also very nice. A great Thai restaurant if you are in the area check it out.

The restaurant was nice enough: better than average decor, not much ambience, but great service. But the food. Oh, the food. Starters: the soft-shell crab was meaty, moist, delicately battered, flavourful, and accompanied by spicy chili sauce. My wife - who's rather a crab aficionado - said it was the best soft-shell she'd had. My fried squid was tender, thick, plentiful, and had sweet chili sauce. The mains: Goong Choo Chee (local king prawns with house curry, fresh lime leaves, coconut milk and aromatic herb sauce) for $22 and Ped Ob (succulent duck breast fillet roasted, with special house sauce, cucumber and carrot) for $19. Cooked to absolute perfection, and with sauces that exploded. So, so, so good. Must go back. BYO for wine.

Our food was ready when it said it would be and only a 12 minute walk from our hotel. We ordered money bags, chicken satay, yellow curry with tofu and vegetables, Tom yum fried rice, and chili and basil with vegetables. Absolutely loved the chicken satay. Holy moly. The money bags were delicious too. The sweet potato and sweet chili sauce really complimented each other. My friend enjoyed her yellow curry which was to her spice tolerance. I enjoyed the spicy chili and basil with veggies! They didn't hold back on the spice! The entrees didn't come with rice so we were glad we ordered the Tom yum rice. Everything comes in recyclable plastic containers and paper utensils.

It's a hidden gem tucked away on Union Street (up from The Commodore Hotel). The restaurant *used* to be called 'Panya Thai' but that closed and this is the new restaurant. I typically order the same dishes at any Thai restaurant: Curry Puffs, Money Bags, Pad Siew, and Chili Basil. This is the first time that both the Entrees and Mains were good and I'm happy that they deliver. If you are in the area and looking for Thai - check it out!
