This is a popular place for dim sum for the locals which is serves in the afternoon. The restaurant…read moreis fairly big and is great for groups as there as large tables. However I would not say that the interior decor is modern or very out dated that it need renovation. It was more of the feeling "I know I'm in a Chinese restaurant" Dim Sum is ordered by marking on a menu sheet and then handed to a staff. I am not sure if there is an English version as ours where in Chinese. I'm sure staff happy to translate if there is not. The quality dim sum is comparable or even better than many places in London Chinatown. They even have Yolk bun which is not found in many places in London. This is a steamed bun that is smiliar to custard bun but is has a creamy runny salty egg yolk center which has a slightly sandy texture. This bun is best enjoyed hot so when it arrived make sure you eat it first. The mini egg tarts is made well and on a busy weekend they will run out. Once gone they are gone! I love the congee (savoury Chinese rice pudding) because they are huge portion compare to most places and it come served with Chineses savoury doughnuts. But the prices does reflect the size of the portion. There is a lunch rice and noodle menu. On there is a handmade cuttlefish ball noodle. You won't get this anywhere else so worth trying if you ever visit Go Sing.

This is their favourite Chinese restaurant that they always hit when they're up this way. Go Sing offers an 'all you can eat for one price' deal but you get to order (repeatedly) from a menu of almost 100 dishes. This is probably less wasteful than a buffet and you get to sample the exact dishes that you would like. The staff were friendly and attended to all our needs, refilling tea cups as necessary. We had half a crispy duck to share and my American friends were happy to let me have my favourite part - gnawing the bones! It's hard to go wrong with crispy duck. Then a selection of starters and the undoubted star was the squid in salt and chilli batter - the squid was nice and tender with crunchy and flavoursome batter. We ordered 2 extra portions! For main course, we rated the duck in honey and lemon sauce highly, with the lemon balancing against the honey well. I got my friends to try the ma po tofu, which may have changed their attitude to tofu! A nice place to catch up and get a tummy full of yummy food.

Given that Staines is Chav hell my expectation of a decent feed on my stay there was pretty low. In desperation, I broke all the rules and decided to eat at my hotel. Who woulda thunk it? Good hotel food with faultless service in a lovely restaurant overlooking the River Thames and, even better yet, at a great price, twenty quid for a three course meal! OK, it's served buffet style, which was a bit odd for a restaurant of this quality but that just means unlimited food, right? Yep, it's eat as much as you like. So, I did. The chef's modern take on meze/tapas style Mediterranean appetizers was an absolute triumph. The traditional English dishes were, admittedly, a bit dried from the lamps but the pheasant wrapped in pancetta was still delicious and the panettone bread and butter pudding was good to the very last spoonful (my apologies to the other diners who were hoping they would get some too). And, did I mention it was only twenty quid. Top stuff!

All served buffet-style so you can help yourself to as much as you want - whenever you want morning, noon and night. Feast on high quality seasonal food and freshly cooked dishes, mouth-watering desserts and vibrant wines. The food style is English with gorgeous international influences and it's all prepared freshly for you by people who love food. The wood-fired oven, rotisserie and hobs are always in action - a theatre of cooking right before your eyes. The leftbank is Thames dining at its most exciting.
