I've been here four times already and each time I go the food seems to get better. As opposed to anna's, the vegetarian options taste superb, as does the meat. After having ordered a different thing every time, I'd have to say no matter what you put in it, it tastes good. I recently ate at the new Waltham location. Don't waste your money. I had the Mexican "Supreme" Plate for $7.85. There was nothing supreme about it, believe me. Portion was small, hardly any meat and the food tasted like it came from an elementary school cafeteria. I've eaten at Tacqueria Mexico on Charles St. in Waltham many times before and TM's food is far superior in quality and portions. Bottom line: low-grade food, small portions. tango mango is an okay place BUT... they put no meat inside your food NEVER put enough in they have candy machines that are not sanitary they are old and crusty too. and they have really bad prices if you ask for more stake they will charge you 4 $ more probily more. read more

He didn't trust us but Do I have to trust him to pay whatever amount of money he says for the food, just because he says so? In each check the cashier charged $2.50 extra making a total of $5.00 dollars profit for them. If my friend and I were to eat there every day, in a month they will steal from us $155 per month (31 days) making it $155 profit for them. In a year $5.00 x 365 days will be $1,825.00 Yes, $1,825.00 is what they will be stealing from my friend and I alone. Can you imagine how much they can steal from you? Also, I told a couple of customers what just had happened to my friend and I, before they were going into the restaurant and a few of them said, :YOU KNOW WHAT? This is absolutely my favorite mexican place around. I used to go to anna's, but I prefer tango. It is styled very similarly to anna's, but I don't care, the food is good, and the people who work there are always friendly. There's always a place to sit (unlike anna's where I'm always hunting for a seat), and it couldn't be more convenient since it's one block from the green line and right in newton center. read more

I love this place!! The fish tacos are to die for and I crave them weekly. I love that I can go gluten free with the corn tortillas for the tacos. The fish with the lemon and pepper in the tacos is one of a kind. I love the burritos too. The chicken tastes better here than any of the other taco places I've had around town. Beg to differ on the lack of stars, mi amigos. It's fast food that's ready in a minute, and is as good as Tex-mex gets within a 20 miles radius. Having been born and raised out West, I should know. The food is fresh and hearty enough that I don't mind paying a bit more for it. If you want crap that is inexpensive, then just go to Taco Bell and cierra la boca. I love that the owner (Shirl is her name I think) is a local who is almost always there behind the register, the help is consistent (dark and handsome), and the place is typically clean. Don't go there for ambiance, for goodness sake. Put your emergency blinkers on and just go in and out. Green Chili burritos w/ all the works are my favorite; carnitas are crispy and burnt like they're supposed to be; the guac is fresh made (albeit $$ but so are avocadoes anywhere you shop) and the quesadillas -- any kind-- are made to order. Had to update here. This place is terrible. Yea they have the occasional decent burrito but it is run like a mexican sweat shop. You pay extra for everything, 1.50 for sour cream is unfair and they barely put any on. Its not just that, the boss lady watches how much and what the workers put in the burrito and rings it up as you add toppings. thats cheap and not customer friendly. 2 people costs over twenty dollars with drinks when at annas taquierio i get 2 quesidillas with double meat, salsa sourcream and guac and 2 orchatas (a authentic mexican drink, tango knows nothing about authentic mexican) for 14 dollars. And at the same time at annas they arent watching every single move, thats why i always tip them. I hate this place, its typical newton and i would only go there if i had to. I recommend El Pelon Taquieria or if you are up for the 10 min drive def go to annas. I live right in newton center and make that trip at least once a week. read more

The burritos are great although a little pricey. We have been a few time's. The guys working at the burrito station are excellent. However, the guy working at the cashier at the time is very poor. His customer service was offensive after returning a certain item that did not taste right. His response was " there must be something wrong with your mouth." This is hands down my favorite place to get a burrito. The plantain is a great addition that you can't seem to get anywhere else. It always seems fresh and you can be in and out very quickly. I am sitting OUTSIDE Tango Mango as I write this, furious. Yes, the food is delicious, which is why I'm here. Why am I outside, you ask? Because Tango Mango does not have reliable hours. They essentially close at their own discretion and don't list hours on the door, for this reason I assume...BUT after searching on Google I see that they do not close until 9PM on Sunday nights! This place is pretty good and convenient if you live in Newton. The only drawback is that they are incredible stingy with their ingredients and the owner watches the people making the burritos like a hawk! I think that if you're paying extra for Guac etc...that you should get more than a teaspoon. Overall, not bad though. read more
