I'm not sure why this location asked, because they didn't seem to follow anything I wrote. This was for my boyfriend's birthday and his name was not on the sign when we walked in, despite me listing that in the paperwork. In the past for my birthday, I have also gotten a card. But nothing here. My boyfriend also didn't want his feet touched and that was also listed in the paperwork. Unfortunately that was not followed. We were brought to our locker rooms and they were clean, had our names and chocolates in the lockers. Very nice touch! Our robe sizes and slides were also in our lockers. There is a large shower, 2 bathroom stalls and vanity with make up lighting. We then walked to the lobby area. This was where we started to have thoughts. Employees were talking in full volume. Not very relaxing. They also kept coming in and out of the room, talking, stocking snacks constantly! Again not very relaxing. The water was nice with a lemon. My boyfriend went to get water for hot tea but the water was room temp. Not very comforting. The massages were nice. I had Ingrid and she was lovely! She did a great job and was soft in speaking during the massage. My boyfriend said his massage therapist was talking at normal volume and didn't find it as relaxing. Afterwards we said in the lobby area again. In my opinion, the fireplace at maple grove is more welcoming and comforting. This place had what looked like a diffuser and eventually it turned off and started beeping. Again not relaxing. The lobby area is also larger at the maple grove location. This location left me a bit perplexed as to why the reviews are better here than at the maple grove location....

Anyways, the massage was actually good, my friend and I opted for the 90 minute full body massages which were pretty affordable for the length of time ($110). I actually fell asleep twice which is a good sign lol. The main issues I had were with the noise levels. Instead of it being soothing and quiet, the masseuses kept stopping to answer the phone during the massages (in the room) and were having constant conversations with each other (occasionally laughing). I don't think with all of the interruptions that it was actually a 90 minute massage, probably closer to 75 minutes. I think Zen could benefit from hiring a receptionist. While they apologized for all of the noise when we were leaving, it sounds like from other reviews this is pretty normal. Again, they gave a great massage, but it was a little chaotic in there!

Despite…read morehaving different massage therapists, the overall feeling was the same -- a lack of professional depth and attentiveness to the client's needs. Key takeaways: * Inconsistent technique -- sometimes too soft, other times abrupt pressure on sore areas * Lack of energy and genuine care during the session * Odd personal remarks from the therapist that made me uncomfortable For a place with this pricing, I expected a higher level of service. Maybe others have had better luck -- my sister, for one, absolutely loves this place -- but my experience hasn't convinced me to return just yet. Still, I hope to stop by again next time I'm in town and see some improvements.

I made an appointment for 4:30. Since I hadn't been seen before, I was 5 minutes early. The office seemed a single business suite and, not wanting to interrupt anyone, I waited until a 1-2 minutes before my appointment to call. When I called, I was asked to wait in a janky suite with a sofa down the hall while they finished their current appointment. Fair enough. I waited there until 4:45. When I called back, I was told there was now a new customer that had materialized and was asked if I would like to make an appointment. I was very excited to find a massage place nearby. However, there is no reason to believe appointments will be honored. I'd like to think this is unusual, but I don't really have a good reason to gamble my time here again.

What could be better than a deep tissue massage AND a foot scrub? I planned my whole day around the soonest appointment I could get. I blocked off my own schedule, so I would have no clients today. It was going to be a self-care day. I rushed home from a nice lunch with a friend to plan how I was going to get there. I do not own a car, you see, so I take car2go during the week and rent a car on the weekends. You can't drop a car2go in Roseville, so I had to take the bus from Saint Paul. A 20-minute bus ride, with about 10-minute bike ride in below-freezing weather. All to get to my massage appointment I was so eagerly anticipating. By the time I arrived my fingers were numb and my face was red from the cold. I was SO looking forward to the warmth of a cozy massage table. And on the door, I see a sign (among a bunch of other, unprofessional, handwritten notes taped to the door) that said they had closed early today. I wish I had taken a photo. I never received even so much as a cancellation notice -- or a phone call. I really hate to write a one-star review for a small business, but eff you, Rapha Therapy. A very fundamental part of being a professional is actually showing up for your appointments. I understand life throws occasional curve balls, but if you need to "close early" on a consistent basis -- and since so many people have reviewed that you do, it looks like this is a pattern -- you should probably NOT be doing this work. NOTE: I didn't see inside, but the handwritten notes taped all over the front door screamed "this is a dump" to me. Not a place i would want to get a massage, since the scribbled notes all over the door makes me question not only her ethics, but her sanitary standards too.

They have signs posted in the office stating that Groupon made an error, and that the foot-scrub is included in the massage time, not an "and" like advertised. I was surprised, but the price was cheap enough I didn't argue it. The music in the massage room was upbeat classical, not very relaxing. The massage itself wasn't amazing, wasn't awful, just average. Except that we ended after 65 minutes. Not cool.

The interior and beds are simple and clean too. Ashley, who was my massage therapist, was excellent. I asked for a deep tissue massage. She asked where I wanted her to focus the massage on, and she really listened. She could also tell where I had a lot of knots and asked me if I'd like her to focus on that area. I started with a 60 min massage, and then changed it to 90 mins so that she could get rid of the tightness in my shoulders/upper back and also have extra time to work on the rest of my body. I will say Ashley can do a relaxing light massage, but she's really good at giving a practical knot-and-tightness-removing one. I went in with discomfort and came out feeling so much better and lighter. A hot stone massage also came with it! I highly recommend giving this place a try and especially having Ashley as your therapist. She's very mindful of the body and knows what she's doing. So as of right now, you'll receive a chair massage. There was a client who stopped by to get their feet massaged. I stopped by on a late Monday afternoon for an unplanned/spur-of-the-moment massage therapy session. I have a big exam on Tuesday so I need something now. Their employees greeted me as I approached. There were three staff members. Each were working on a client. They offered me a chair. I waited for 15-minutes. When it was my turn, I did the 30-minutes package for $42 + deep tissue for $10 extra. It was a good 30-minutes as my therapist rang out my tight neck, shoulder, and upper back muscles. He also worked on my mid and lower back, as well as my arms. As any normal massage session, I was sleepy afterwards. The next day, my body was sore, a delayed onset of muscle soreness, which is a normal a physical response to the inflammation as the body heals. I was fine later.
