My favourite restaurant in the entire world ever since I was a child. After your first or second…read moretime of going to Kinara, the staff get to know you and your orders- which is so nice. I ALWAYS begin with behari kebab which is served with a yoghurt as it is quite spicey.. with a side of freshly prepared cucumbers and side salad. This is simply delicious, if you aren't into spicey food there is other options too so don't worry too much!! For a main course, I usually opt for chicken tikka masala as it is a classic and it is simply DELICIOUS! The dishes are served in beautiful red pots with lids, so there is no rush or worry on your food going cold as the pots prevent it from doing so! If you are booking, I do reccomend you to ask for a window seat as it is the most beautiful view ever- Clontarf and if you're really lucky you could be watching the local boats of Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club out sailing in their dinghies or cruisers. So, if you're coming from town you can hop on the 130 from Lower Abbey Street and it will stop right outisde Kinara Restaurant. I guarantee, once you dine here you will want to go back straight away as the food is AH-MAY-ZING! The staff are so friendly and polite and are there if you need advice on the menu. To finish- if you are there for dinner, they do really goood desert cocktails (i've never tasted them so relying on my sisters experience) , if you're not into an alcoholic desert they do these amazing traditional Indian drinks called Mango Lassi's! Hope this is helpful, and definitely the best Indian Restaurant in Ireland. Plus they've two other restaurants- one in Ranelagh and one in Malahide.

Do Not Underestimate Their Vindaloo #HOTHOT…read more This place over the years have changed their name a few times but what hasn't changed is the awesome deliciousness of their food. I've sampled plenty of the starter dishes and for mains have tried quite a few options over from the beef or chicken jalrezi, tikka masala, korma oh and let's not forge their vindaloo (buyer's beware it is as hot as they come), all dishes have been amazing. My fave, go to main meal is now the chicken tikka masala has enough of everything, packed with flavour and doesn't make me cry like the vindaloo! Also, little tip for you... order the garlic Naan! It's worth the buck and then some. I've often ordered from them when having guests over so whether it be a small order for 2 or larger group they've got you covered. The delivery service is always prompt, never had any issues here and the once time they had a long delivery timeframe they made it know over the phone when I placed the order to make sure I was ok with the wait... More take away/delivery places should take note, if ye know ye are up against it, let us know when ordering... Saves an angry call 60 mins later :-) If you are in the area or live nearby and have not tried their food... Do! You won't regret it

Being an American I've heard plenty about how South Asian cuisine is better across the pond. Being…read morea fan of Asian food in general I was determined to try Indian cuisine at least once during my trip. Considering how expensive it is to eat in Dublin and considering how close this was to my hotel I had this twice and was impressed with my food both times! The restaurant space is quite small to eat in and most of their orders are for takeaway. The plastic containers used for takeaway is quite sturdy and I'd be reusing them again if I was a local. Service was great. They threw in a single piece of veggie samosa for good measure as a typical order comes in a set of 3. They even put in a little chutney sauce for dipping. There's plenty of potato and some peas in the samosa. I ordered one chicken and one lamb dish. I love spicy curries so I ordered the curries that come naturally spicy. The curries are made to order so expect at least a 10 minute wait while they cook your dish. - Chicken Madras (Curry from southern coast of India cooked with fresh coconut and curry leaves, €10.50). Madras is a British interpretation of curry found in South India. It is red due to the chili powder and there's usually a "milk" base to it, similar to Thai curries. The chicken pieces are big and there's plenty of curry left over to finish the rice. - Lamb Jalfrezi (Stir-fried lamb with onions, peppers and tomato flavoured with carom seeds, Stir-fried lamb with onions peppers and tomato flavoured with carom seeds, €11.50). Jalfrezi is Indian-Chinese made spicy because the meat is cooked usually with green peppers and onions. This dish was properly spicy and there's a good amount of lamb meat. There was enough curry left over to finish the rice. This was made by the suggestion of a local who overheard me asking for a recommendation for preferred lamb curries as I had chicken. This is reasonably priced comfort food considering how expensive it can be to eat out in Dublin. If this were in the US this would easily be my go-to place for Indian food to go.

Four of us turned up here having thought initially it was closed as a notice on the door suggested…read morethat a much loved manager had passed. We rang to be told that they were open. We really enjoyed our night here and wouldn't hesitate to return. The welcome was friendly, seating comfy and it didn't take long to get a drinks order served. We were undecided about starters eventually decided on mains only. My wife opted for a chicken shashlik with rice which came with a sauce that was quite astringent, almost as if some vinegar had been added. The sauce was well flavoured but it didn't suit my wife's palate although I liked it. The rice was perfectly cooked. I ordered a butter paneer dish with a Peshwari nan. It was a very tasty main, I did enjoy the paneer and my wife enjoyed my sauce more than her own as it was sweeter. The only thing missing, that I expected to find, was green peas and only because they are always in this dish when I order it. Their absence didn't affect the dish, I was just surprised not to get them. The only disappointment was the peshwari nan as the filling was so thin we simply couldn't detect any of the flavours we expected but given the price I wouldn't drop a star. My advice is put the price up a bit and put in some more filling. Our friends enjoyed their dishes but I only recall one main - chicken biryani with the same 'sour' sauce and a garlic nan.
