I wouldn't even want to give this place a one star, it's that bad!
We ordered last Friday from them and were horrified by the experience. I ordered Korma (can't eat any hot curry) and my flat mate got a lamb mince curry dish. We asked if Pompodums come with it (as she didn't say and we're usually told by other places that they are) and were told, no we had to pay extra. So we asked for them and Rijata. We were told Rijata will be 2.50 euro. We said, well that's quite a lot but sure as long as you consider it's for two people.
The girl who took the order wasn't willing to spend much time with us and quickly hung up. About 40 minutes later the food arrived after the driver needed specific driving directions by my flat mate as he hadn't a clue where he is heading to (we're on a main road!). Anyway we got the food, the Rijata was the size of a rice dish i.e. about ten people could have comfortably eaten from it and to my surprise included red peppers. My Korma looked different to what I usually get from other take aways but we wanted to give this one a try so literally tried it. My Korma lacked of "Korma", it was tomato based, very oily, it was over spiced (spice rating 2 at least) and had no coconut or any other typical Korma ingredients in it. I couldn't eat it. My flat mate's lamb mince looked like poo (in the nicest way described) and his Pilah rice looked like grated cheese. None of his tasted nice so after one spoon full we called up and complained.
I asked straight for the Manager and the girl/ woman asked what was the matter before she gets the Manager. I explained our dilemma and she straight away refused that anything could possibly be wrong with the dishes. She insisted the Korma was a Korma and the grated looking cheese....well don't get me started what she thought here....
I was insulted over the phone and yelled at so I got upset and handed the phone over to my flat mate. He fortunately didn't get upset with her and demanded A) the correct dishes be sent with an expecting quality or B) a full refund. Both were denied to us. She actually laughed at him (he had the phone on loud speaker) by saying "what? you want another dish?? that takes at least 40 Minutes". He insisted and she said "Na call me back tomorrow evening and I see what I can do". He didn't let her shake him off that easily and said that it's not good enough and he want an immediate refund, he'll be driving down to collect it. She said "Ah a refund, so eating it and then getting the money back, pah!" I thought I am in some weird film! Anyway he confirmed that apart from a spoon full the dishes are untouched and are ready to be sent back. He also asked for the Manager now, pointing out that her lack of customer service skills, lack of communication and people skills and general lack of respect should be enough for getting her fired. Now the best bit! She said, she is the Manager!!!! My flat mate went one further to ask for her supervisor and she said, she is the only one. So he asked for the owner and guess what, she said she is the owner!!!
Unbelievable.
She then hung up on him.
He called back and asked for an explanation. Of course he didn't get any, she kept insulting him with her lack of knowing anything. For example the Korma, she insisted all Kormas are tomato based and spiced rate 2. Gas thing is, she didn't even offer to check with the chef why that is and why other places have complete different ones i.e. with coconut etc.
My flat mate told her that this is not the end of it and we will go and complain officially. She didn't care and hung up again. He didn't drive down as we figured it wouldn't get us anywhere. She would have probably called the Gards and made up some bull over "raging" customers and trust me, we were raging at this stage over so much rudeness.
So what can I say, for two people we paid 27 Euro and god knows if we ever get compensated for it. DO NOT order or eat with them. This place is run by people who are just horrible and do not care about their customers. Save your money and bring it to proper Indian places where people care and make an effort to keep you happy. (Going by this woman's words, if she really is the owner the conclusion here is: This place is run by an Irish woman, single handed, managed by herself and she also takes the orders.) read more
