I'm no tanning queen, but I used to go here occasionally for a winter pick-me-up. They had a punch card deal that was about $10/session. They did away with the package deal and now expect you to pay $22 for a 10 minute session or buy a skin-cancer-club membership for a similarly insane amount. Utterly ridiculous. Super cute, clean facility! Moved into the area recently & went in to buy new tanning products- the staff was so sweet, informative, and helpful. I was even given a tour of the location to see all the different beds & options. The staff I spoke to also gave me an extensive run down of each different tanning lotion/product so I could make an informed purchase which I super appreciated! Glad that this spot is so close to my house and normally I can get in & out of there in no time! read more

This company is being referred to the Oregon Attorney General for Fraudulent credit card charges. They attempted to charge my daughters credit card over 22 different times. They were finally successful. Every franchise has blocked her phone calls and won't respond. My daughter canceled her contract over 6 months ago. After canceling my membership fully with no amount due in my account, their systems "glitched" and stole $20 from my card on the day that fees are due. I contacted customer service and they wanted to give me $20 in credit to use at their stores but I of course said no. Then they said they couldn't find any history of that transaction going through, so I sent them a picture of my bank statement clearly stating the date, time, company name, and amount taken out, so they then stopped responding to me and I still haven't gotten my money back! read more

Constant failure at Tan Republic. Dirty rooms and blasting music from other rooms make for a very uncomfortable tan. If you like to relax while you tan I'd highly recommend a different spot in town. The broken toilet seat that has gone unfixed since I began my membership is a good example of the laziness about creating a pleasant enviroment. Weak bulbs and washcloth size towels, (oh wait the ARE washcloths) add to the ambience. Bring your own towel if you do decide to use this poor example of a tanning salon. To even call this place a salon is a stretch. More of a tanning facility than a salon. No class and they seem pretty content with that so I'm not expecting any improvement. Waste of money. read more

Wow, how unfortunate. Went in for a Mystic spray tan and absolutely would not recommend, ever. I have had at least 10 before in California where I am from and never had a problem. This is an older machine, and to much of my dismay, left me blotchy at best In some places, and made one leg completely streaked. It looks absolutely awful. What's even worse, the product burned my eyes incredibly bad. I have never had this happen before on other Mystic booths. I completely followed all instructions from the staff and what was on the wall. I requested a refund, and while the staff working was polite and called her the owner, I unfortunately was not refunded the $35 for the absolutely terrible experience because it's "not their policy." Fair enough, but in extreme cases as these, exception should be made, especially when the worker admits afterwards it has happened to her before too. They recommended I try lemon juice to remove the streaks, however it will likely not be fixed in time for the wedding I am in tomorrow. Very disappointed and I hope no one else has to go through that! read more

I always feel welcome when I visit Tan Republic. The staff are so friendly and very knowledgable about their product. I love the new addition of the red light bed. Soooo relaxing and no uv yeah...although I still love getting my vitamin D in the gold bed, especially on those cold rainy days. With the red light therapy bed I have noticed an improvement to my skin's appearance and feel since starting 5 months ago. read more

Literally the worst experiences I have had with any business. I purchased a tanning package and was told I must do a direct pay with my credit card, monthly, however it was non-contractual and could be canceled at anytime. Fine. I went they first few times and it was ok. When I needed lotion, I inquired about one and the gal said they hadn't any in stock without bronzer (self tanner) in it, which I did not want. So I bought a sample for around $8. It seemed I had to tan daily to get any color, so I tried paying $8 for one stand up tan to see if I would get a better result. There were two burned out bulbs in the bed. I told the rep and she said, "yeah, we know. Someone will be in, in a few weeks to replace them. We can't do anything about it." I received a phone call from the Manager telling me she had found a tanning lotion I would like. She was at another store and could transfer to my store, and I said okay, I would like to check it out. I went in to tan and tell her I had already gotten other lotion, but she wasn't there and the other gal said that she had charged it to my card and it was non-refundable. I contacted the manager via phone and had a heated conversation about why she charged my account without my authorization. She was less than nice and helpful. Long story short, I cancelled my tanning and cancelled the card. I sent numerous emails to the corp office and phone calls to the store, to no avail. I considered suing them for the $90 bottle of lotion, but my time is pretty valuable and it seemed like a hassle. I sent my husband to finally go and pic up the pricey potion, but when he went in to get it, the gal said they sold it to someone else. Then they informed him that I had a balance and would be sent to collections for canceling my contract. WTH? So after more emails and getting really mad, and ready to take some serious action, when I received a message that they had a bottle of lotion waiting at another store for me to pick up, and that they threw out the other bottle for my safety because it was expired. My husband drove 20 minutes across town to get it , and yea. It's a bottle of stinky self tanner. Now I am back at Sunsational and will never tan anywhere else. I should have never left. I just saw the location on Coburg inconvenient, but so worth it. read more

I came in with my girlfriend because she was interested in tanning and Steve-O was so informative and excited that I decided to do a week in the second level bed too. I was amazed at the cleanliness of the salon, while I am there I always feel very fancy. Like I'm being treated to my own mini private five star resort. The rest of my visits proved that Tan Republic has an excellent staff that enjoy helping their customers. Jen was amazing and when I tried out the south Eugene location Annie and Sabrina were just as informative and happy to help. I tried a bunch of different lotions that definitely improved each tanning experience and every time I visited I left with a smile on my face! It was dope. read more

When I called, no one answered the first three times, when someone did, she was the typical snotty person I figured would answer with an attitude acting like I'm inconveniencing HER (I'm guessing I'm not the only one calling about an email). She went on telling me how they're closing out their books of old accounts, and how I must not have filled out the paperwork right when I ended my service. Wtf, from May of 2014?! She mentioned some date back to 2010 that they were closing out, so that's not "that bad". Then she goes on about how I can ignore it because "if you notice, it says EFT courtesy" like I'm supposed to notice that or know what that indicates. If you must send out an email to waste my time, how about a better explanation on the email. Get your sh*t together Tan Republic, and if you're going to do something to accounts on your end that doesn't affect customers, don't send erroneous emails out. High pressure sales every single time i go in. Been going here for about 5 months. If you ask any question the answer is to buy something else and then they take it personal if you don't want it. Clearly a commission job which is never conducive with customer service nor stable employees and it shows. They have a constant turn over of employees which is always a bad sign and is typically a good representation of the kind of people the owners are. Good employers have very little turnover... bad employers have constant turnover. This is a very typical money farm business. I finally gave in and allowed them to put me on one of their plans. (my GF likes me tan and she is way hotter than me so....) They told me I can go as often as i want with no additional fees and I can go to any facility in the state and use my membership there. Here is the part they don't tell you. Most of the other facilities have a different "brand" of booth and my plan only covers the one brand of booth. So they say hey sorry we don't have that unit here please pay us 40 dollars for this significantly downgraded version... I just gave them 400+ dollars 2 weeks before for the right to do this. So i paid extra money for a significantly downgraded booth. I went through all this and the only person i complained to was my gf.... until this week.. I am done with these people... of course these business models have a 0 refund policy (always the first warning sign.. if they have a no refund policy its because they don't care about customer service) even though I am unsatisfied with the service and they misrepresented the service just to get my money and I haven't even used 2 weeks of my 3 months they will not refund any money. This is standard for these types of businesses they are a well oiled money grubbing machine that cares nothing about their customer care only that they get your money. They are not satisfied even then. Its a constant barrage of upgrades and peripherals. SteveO as he calls himself is the assistant manager and his job is to make people go away. He spins a tale about how he cant allow me to spray tan unlimited because when you UV tan you can only have 1 session a day... i said but that doesn't apply here because there are no UV issues and he says Yes he knows but that's why he does it because you cant do it in UV safely... if this doesn't make sense to you its because it doesn't make any sense at all. Its simply an excuse to make me pay more money and not honor the deal. I am someone that owns several businesses and several of them are customer service related. I would never be associated with any business that has clearly slimy policies like this one. My intention is to sue them and it wont be about the money... money is not my god. It will be about the public record it will generate to show that these are bad people with horrible business ethics. We are judged by our actions not our words. read more

They were wonderful to me. I never use tanning beds, but was getting ready to go to Hawaii and didn't want to burn. Knowledgeable staff, professional demeanor, very helpful. I moved to Eugene from California and was unsure where I wanted to get my spray tans.The moment I walked into this location is was greeted by Steve and I knew this was the salon for me.He was so welcoming,smiley,and knowledgeable.He had answers to all my questions and was so pleasant and patient.He took the time to greet everyone that came in after me with a smile and let them know he would be right with them without rushing me.The salon is clean,wonderfully located,and the Versa booth is always clean and ready.Thanks Tan Republic! The worst tanning salon I have ever been to! The beds were old, dirty, creaking, wouldn't stay open on their own - had to be held open as I got in to it. Not safe! The beds didn't even have built in fans do they set up crappy fans, laid up on a cardboard box outside the bed. The entire building was freezing. The beds never got hot and of course I didn't get any color. Not surprised! Don't waste your time or money on this place. read more

Today I stopped in for my second visit. Although this place is a little more "plain" than some other tanning salons I've been to (doesn't have any decorations, the music is extremely subtle, the walls are all white, etc.) I'll definitely keep coming back. The service is very friendly and knowledgeable (and not pushy--yay!), the beds are clean, and the specials are AMAZING. I went for their daily "happy hour" ( 7pm-close; they also have an "early bird" special from open-11am), which is 50% off any service. I chose the most basic bed--normally $7--so I got 11 minutes of relaxing tanning for only $3.50! Also, unlike other tanning salons, Tan Republic gives you a whopping 5 minutes (compared to 3 at other places I've been) before automatically starting the bed--plenty of time to apply lotion. Compared to places in I frequent in Seattle, this is much cheaper for the same quality beds. I highly recommend the Santa Clara Tan Republic! read more
