I went into the store and just wanted to sign up for one month of tanning, the gal that worked there proceeded to pressure me and talk so much to me about how much better a one year membership is. She went on and on for so long that finally I felt so pressured that I just agreed to the one year thinking ok good I can get going, but no, then she started trying to sell me on their skin care and tanning lotions. People kept coming in to tan and she would make them wait while she explained the skincare to me. I told her I wasn't interested in the skincare, but she wouldn't take no for an answer. I finally had to get pretty stern with her and she finally quit trying to sell me the products. That same evening I was telling my husband what happened and he got upset and told me I should cancel and I agreed with him. I felt so pressured into this one year membership. I called the very next morning, less than 24 hours after joining and asked to cancel and the corporate people told me they do not refund prepaid memberships. So ok, I'll move on and keep tanning. Fast forward a couple months and I forgot my eye protection in the room after one of my sessions. I realized it about 15 minutes later so I called and they told me they couldn't patch me through to the actual store but that company policy is that they will hold onto my eye protection. So I went in the next morning and the same rude girl told me no, that's unsanitary we do not hold on to eye protection. I called corporate again trying to cancel because I'm just so unhappy with how this store is ran and again they told me no. Just don't waste your time here. This company is horrible! And please, corporate, do not comment on my comment saying how sorry you are about my experience. If you're truly sorry, you will let me cancel my membership! Otherwise do not comment on this comment because you don't really care you would just be lying.

What I got was that the remainder of my current year wasn't even considered, and that the best he could do was give me 6 months in the faster bed instead of the year I just paid for. Not that they would refund my money or give me the upgrade. In most businesses this would be called false advertising, selling a product for the period of a year and then deciding after it was paid for that 6 months was a better fit for him. I have been using their services for 4 years and each year they find a way to rip me off. I would not recommend using their services.

However, my biggest gripe is even after a year of membership, which they claim you can cancel anytime, the contract says a 30 day notice to cancel. So they will charge your account that one extra month to get one last $30 bucks from you. I think its a great business plan to get your members to walk away forever. When I join a gym again, it won't be Workout Anytime.
