This was the second recommendation from another bar in town. If you are looking for great food that is not pretentious then this is the place! We started with the garlic flat bread and i am not sure if i wanted the garlic or flat bread separate...they were both so perfectly done...one would be amazing without the other. My business associate had the stroganoff and thought it was very good. Sorry, can't speak for others. As I studied the menu i noticed the monk fish. As a fish lover, i have never had monk fish and asked the waiter how it was. He said order something else. I asked the waiter if it was fresh and he said yes but others find it a bit tougher then other fish. Being brave, I ordered it. I am so glad and happy as this was amazing!!! Yes, as a white fish it was a bit more firm, however it was soooooooooooo sweet! The shrimp were to perfection, the veggies were on point, one can't go wrong!!! If you read my other reviews i always find the high points and touch on the low unless the place really sucks and i let loose...folks....this is, may i say "friggin awesome!!!" 5 stars...not for expensive, pretentious dining...but for down to earth, honest, loving good food, it's a five star plus. As we watched plates go, and smelled them, it all looked good. Stop in and try it!!! By the by, tjank you to the owner who stopped by not once but a few times to check on us, I'm so sorry as i can't remember his name but he has true pride of ownership...gratzi...moto bella!!! read more

Went today for lunch. Good service. The lunch menu is great. Could not possibly eat all of my Capriola. My guest enjoyed Insalata caprino and Broccoli potato soup. Both were lunch specials. May try dinner menus in the future. read more

OK, I'm gonna give this place 4 stars, but I do have some caveats. Food was pretty good, as was the layout and ambience. Service was good - switched on male Italians (yes, even down to the broken accents) waiters which makes for the whole experience. This really is a pre-party restaurant. The sort of place you'd book a hen or stag dinner before hitting the town (it's a really classy wedding if you're having your stage do in Yeovil, I know). So if you're looking for an intimate setting to pop the question to your girlfriend, think again. But if you're out with friends and looking to take the piss out of each other and get fed before necking 10 pints of Strongbow, then you can't go wrong here. Ladies - these waiters will be absolutely charming I'm sure, and there's nothing wrong with a bit of fantasy. Guys - don't take it to heart if it looks like the waiter is chatting up your girl, they're just having fun. Fathers - don't let your daughters near this place (only kidding!) Tamburino's a cool place to go. You could do a lot worse. read more

The only reason I didn't give Tamburino 5 stars is the unpredictable service. On quiet nights, the service can't be beaten. On busier nights, you can sit for 20 minutes trying to get the waiter's attention, and then, you can wait 20 minutes more for the requested item or bill. The food is good. The portions are generous. The waiters are a riot and can be extremely charming. The guys in the kitchen wave at my teenage daughter and have even made her lasagna with a flirty heart shape carved into the top layer. When it was served to her, they all waved from the kitchen! On busy nights, the restaurant can get quite noisy, so don't plan a romantic dinner here. I wish I could give Tamburino 5 stars, I really do, but the service can be agonizingly slow on some nights, even going so far as serving half of the desserts 15 minutes before the other half of the family got theirs. Pretty unacceptable, especially with children. But, on a week night, fairly early in the evening, this restaurant is one of our favorites, and definitely has the mostfriendly waiters. read more

I have only been to this Tamburino's twice, but the food was great. I prefer the other Tamburinos Caffe bar at the top of town (near the Nat West Bank), the service there is second to none, always greeted with a smile and wonderful food. They also do a great Sunday Roast with a choice of Chicken, Beef or Lamb. Has a wonderful atmosphere and very relaxing air to it. Thoroughly recommended. read more

Eaten a few times at the Tamburino Cafe at the top of town, and enjoy the all day breakfast on a Sunday! Rest of the food a bit of a let down. (and the staff speak very loudly around you...in italian! If only i understood them!) read more
