I agree with hannahlamb that the Admiral Blake along with the Pak lok are Bridgwater's best fish and chip shops. We always used to get fish and chips from one or the other when I was young. The chips in Admiral Blake are usually tasty and they do a good curry sauce. When I was a meat-eater I loved their chicken and chips. The Admiral Blake Chip shop also has a restaurant which is quite basically decorated and has pictures on the wall of Bridgwater in the olden days. The restaurant is mostly frequented by O.A.P's (due to a money off offer I think or maybe just the very reasonable prices). read more

This is possibly the best chip shop in Bridgwater the other contender being Pak Lok on Taunton Road. It has been there for as long as I can remember. And I can remember when a portion of chips used to be 40 pence. It does the best chips and the usual other chip shop offerings, very good service and has a seating area at the back. read more
