We were seated in the semi private area which has two tables and can accommodate 16 people comfortably... Maybe 2 more if you squeeze a bit. Drinks: I decided to embrace the unique experience by ordering a Ramune pop where you have to punch down a glass bead so that you can pour the soda. It's served into a glass with a lime flavored popsicle to give it extra flavor. Ordering: the way the menu works is that everyone gets the same things included with their meal. The only thing different is the protein ordered. - Onion broth: thin but oh so packed with umami flavor! - Salad: pretty good with light vinaigrette - Mushrooms: mmmhh fried and covered in soy sauce - Shrimp: delish and drown it in the tangy dipping sauce - Mixed Veggies: helps balance all the meatiness - Addictive ground ginger soy sauce: can eat this with everything! - Tangy chili sauce: love the flavor - Bowl of rice - Orange creamsicle ice cream: yay for ice cream! - Cup of Jasmine tea: wash down all that flavor The meats: with 3 choices of beef from least to most expensive--Beef Samurai, Sirloin, Filet Mignon. I went middle of the road with the sirloin but was able to taste the filet mignon off my friend's plate. Conclusion: filet mignon cut up in cubes had a rich beefy flavor that comes from the fat in the meat that is seared. It's really good, super tender and juicy. The sirloin also cooked and cubed has a flatter taste but still really tender and delicious. If budget is not an issue, go with the filet mignon, your taste buds will be singing! Staff was friendly and polite. The cooks, depending who you get make their own jokes to entertain you while cooking. Our cook did this knife flipping thing with his chef's knife into it's holster several times like it was nothing. I could just envision myself trying that and losing fingers and toes in the process!!! Overall, it's just a touch pricey but I loved the experience! We were all very satisfied. It's good sized portions guaranteeing that nobody will leave hungry. The place filled up by 6pm where every table was occupied. I will go back again!

Combos come with your choice of meat, your choice of rice or vermicelli, salad, a spring roll and an appetizer vegetable soup. I got the chicken combo with vermicelli ($18) while my husband got the beef combo with rice ($19). The vegetable soup was mostly broth and only contained a single broccoli floret, a single cauliflower floret and a single slice of carrot. Oh and some green onions, lol. However, the broth was very flavourful. We each got 3 sizeable pieces of meat. Mine where chicken thighs. I do prefer lean breast meat to the fattier thigh meat, but they did trim off the fat, so the meat at least wasn't gristley. The marinade was delicious. The chicken was really flavourful. I had a taste of my husband's beef and it was tender and delicious. I did notice some gristley bits to the beef though. The vermicelli was nicely cooked. The spring roll was hot right out of the fryer and crunchy on the outside. The salad had too many raw bean sprouts for my liking. It also has lettuce, pickled carrots, and daikon. And also mint leaves. We both enjoyed our meal. Service was pleasant. The place was packed when we arrived, but by the time we left it had completely cleared out. Decor is modern and hip looking, lol. Clientele seemed to skew young, at least younger than my husband and I, haha. The restaurant is in a plaza and there's free parking in the plaza parking lot. On February 21 at 6:00 p.m., we were four people at Torii Sushi in Laval to celebrate a birthday. The sushi and their presentation are at the forefront of Japanese cuisine. Everything was truly exquisite. For this evening, we spent close to $400, and from a culinary standpoint, the experience met expectations. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the evening. The cavalier manner in which the assistant manager practically showed us the door is unacceptable. A serious lack of judgment and tact. We regularly visit restaurants in Montreal and Laval, and never -- I repeat, never -- have we been treated this way. Being rushed like that in front of our guests, during a birthday celebration, is frankly humiliating. We felt ashamed of the situation. At 6:00 p.m., we certainly did not expect to have to cut our evening short. The message was clear: "Eat, spend, and free the table quickly -- other customers are waiting." An establishment that positions itself as a high-end experience cannot afford such a lack of respect. Never again. Review based on our personal experience, honest and factual.

I've eaten in the dinning area a few times but I mostly done take out. The stuff is always so nice and friendly. I love there's salmon tartare is comes with this yummy sauce. I think it's a must. I usually try to get different sushi everytime I go to try them out, I definitely recommend everything on the menu so far. This place is great for in dining or takeout and always great for small and big groups.
