Colossal Breakfast
Carrie L.

If you are in Lake George this is a must stop for breakfast. The Colossal Breakfast is delicious and more than filling! Choice of two pancakes or French toast, sausage or Canadian Bacon, two eggs cooked to your liking, and home fries. It's a hopping spot expect a little wait, ours was 10-15 minutes. Service was slow but I enjoyed the Adirondack atmosphere and breakfast was delicious! I believe they also sell their own syrup and French toast came with a cinnamon butter that added a unique twist.

Over the years this place just never gets better. The food is not seasoned and comes out cold. The corned beef hash is not good at all. Tastes like it comes out of a can. The sausage links are dry and overcooked. No more chances on this place. I've been coming to the lake for many years and every time I tried Flapjack Pete's it was awful.

It was the best malted waffle syrup and bacon I had in a long while. The decor was cozy and they had real cream for the coffee. Affordable and delicious.

Breakfast was phenom. We both had specials....I had the bagel with cream cheese and lox. It was chunks of lox. Bagel was soft and the cream cheese was light and whipped. It was awesome. Husband had Belgian waffles with walnuts and maple butter. Waffles were so light but crisp, walnuts were candied. To top it off.....fresh real maple syrup. Definitely come again!

Visiting Lake George for an overnite, my wife and I chose Charlie's for their menu selections and…read morereasonable pricing. We were pleasantly surprised with both the high food quality and friendly, efficient service. Seated outside at a comfortable table we shared an excellent crab cake with our cocktails. The 'Lake George Punch', was very nice. Our server, Jack, was on his game & could give lessons on on unobtrusive high quality table service with a smile and some pleasant conversation. The pulled chicken tacos and crab stuffed haddock were both excellent! Flavor, texture, doneness all top notch. We were caught up in the details of sauces, rice, and wonderful harcort verts (can't just call them a side of green beans). Unexpected in a hotel restaurant in a touristy area. All in all, with the July evening breeze blowing off the lake, a slice of lake view, and the bustling fellow visitors putting on a show just for us.... It was a very nice experience.

However, food came out very slow. Nachos were good and we enjoyed most of our entrees. Someone else had the rib eye which we would absolutely not recommend. Upon further review, we all felt that the food was a bit salty, but worked in a pinch when we were hungry. Overall, just okay.

Service was just ok, not like past good service. Had dinner Thursday Aug. 19, service not great again, took a while to get our drinks, then salad was rushed out last minute before our dinners arrived. Dirty tables that didn't get bussed, including outside patio right by our window seat table. Don't like eating my dinner looking at empty, dirty tables. Not sure what's up because we used to love going here but after these 2 recent August visits, I think we will try another LG location. Atmosphere is great with rustic cabin but ruined by the mediocre service & dirty tables. Food was just ok. Hope things improve.

We do things that American way here. Anyhow, a couple Caesar salads either grilled chicken later, we exit, satisfied not only by our food but by the atmosphere. For this is, indeed, a log structure, or one created to make you think it's one. The salads are serviceable, chopped into 4" strips and piled high with cheese, croutons, and dressing. The game heads on the wall stare down at us forlornly. The blackboard touts a special that reads, "Blu balls. We finish our meals and shove off, food inside us, prepared for the next four hours.
