I was rear ended in my one month old new Honda Civic near San Diego Airport. I'm an Uber driver and I don't have much money so I looked into body shops in Tijuana. I saw good reviews for this one particular shop on yelp and then when I went onto the Uber Facebook group I had someone in there tell me not to do business with this particular shop but unfortunately they were the only ones available on short notice, I should've listen to the advie but since all I needed was the rear bumper replaced and very minor repair on the lip of the trunk lid I figured that this job would be hard to screw up for any body shop and I guess I was willing to take a chance rather than wait a week for another shop to be available. For one the shop is basically the driveway of a house in the sketchiest neighborhood you would ever imagine, which isn't particularly relevant except for the fact that he leaves your car out there on the street in a neighborhood that makes downtown St. Louis look upscale, you're intimidated driving through it even with your doors locked, and I won't even discuss the potholes the size of basketballs. But I'm not writing this review because of his dumpy business or the scary neighborhood it is because even after the job took twice as long as he quoted me it would take, I showed up and he surprised me by telling me it was going to cost an additional $200 and when I pointed out that the trunk lid was uneven, he rolled his eyes and said that he took a flashlight to it and it would not leak. That should have set off alarm bells for me right then since I never brought up concerns about trunk leaking I was just referring to the unevenness of the trunk, but, yes, you guessed it, the first time I ran it through a car wash it leaked into the trunk of my Civic, when I reached out to him and told him that I found a place that will fix his crappy repair job and it's going to cost me $400 and I thought he should pay half (which would have been the add'l $200 he upcharged me anyways) he bitched and moaned and eventually suggested I bring it back to him, which is something that will not ever happen, so found another shop in TJ, One that completed the job and the amount of time quoted, did the job for the amount of money quoted, and did the job right my truck is now is even and doesn't leak. Hopefully you listen to this warning as I failed to do when I was warned not to come here, but if you are the gambling type and want to chance your car to this company that seems to specialize more in boat motors it appears, well I would suggest you bring a couple hundred dollars extra with you when it is time to pick up your car because I'm guessing when he hit me with the extra charge when I went to pick up my car that he does this often as he told me he doesn't have space to store my car and will leave it out on the street again until I came back with the extra $200 FYI Don't make the same mistake I did, there are other body shops in TJ that 1) won't f*** up the job like this did on my trunk, that 2) will do the job by the date they promise, that 3) won't bait & switch you with a higher price when it's time to pick up your car AVOID THIS BUSINESS read more
