After taking it the next day he messaged my wife saying that she's going to get charged for everyday that her car is there plus $150 for towing it... Like what the car was fine where it was yet he said he needed to tow it to his business now he's stating that he rents a space on someone else's property to park his vehicles... It's only been 5 days & apparently now he's saying that my wife owes already $500 dollars which he never fixed the car... So why does she owe him anything yet he's threatening that if she doesn't pay he will be filing a lien on her car... He is a coward and should be shut down right away... We will be filing a civil law suit against him if anyone else he has done wrong would like to participate in this... send me a message...Con Artist JT Mobile mechanic See u in our court soon ...

What kind of service is that ? If you see that you cant fix the issue dont try to keep taking money out of the person , be straight up and admit its something you cant do , instead of just trying to find something that its not wrong with car ! I thought I got screwed buying a used car from an older guy who seemed legit. I paid $2,300 in…read morecash, got a clean title, and was told all it needed was a CV axle. I figured I could handle that since I was tight on cash, and the repair wouldn't go over $500. After a quick test drive around the block--where I did hear some clicking, but it didn't sound too bad--I decided to buy it. On my 20-mile drive home, that clicking sound started raising doubts. It didn't seem like just a CV axle issue anymore, though I couldn't quite figure out what it was. The engine and transmission were running great, so I thought it had to be something simple, right? I took it to a highly-rated local shop, and they diagnosed the problem as the front differential or transmission (it's an AWD vehicle). Unfortunately, they said they don't work on transmissions. Well, FML. Next, I took it to a well-recommended transmission shop. After a few days, they confirmed the same issue and gave me a rough estimate of $1,900 to $2,500 for a used replacement. No rebuilt or new parts were available. FMLx2. I then brought it to my go-to guy, who's great at swapping parts and doing some diagnostics. He said he could handle the repair for $1,200, including sourcing a used part. But after two weeks of searching, he had no luck. FMLx3. At this point, I did my own research and decided if I could stay under $2,500, the repair would be worth it based on the car's value. I posted a project on Yelp to solicit bids from local shops. That's when Memo from AAMCO reached out. I was hesitant at first, but AAMCO has been around forever, and Memo seemed legit. I figured they'd either be the most expensive or the most reasonable since they specialize in transmissions. I checked reviews on Google and Yelp, and they looked good, so I decided to give Memo a shot. I dropped by to talk to him, and he was great--super communicative and really listened to my situation. I left the car with him, and the next day, I got a call. Of course, the repair exceeded my $2,500 budget. Same diagnosis: front differential/transmission replacement with a used unit. The estimate was $2,800, but they'd thoroughly inspect the replacement to ensure it was good. So close, but still over budget. I told him I'd call back. I was ready to schedule the car for auction and cut my losses, but something in my gut told me the car was worth saving. I called Memo back and asked if he could do it for $2,700. After some discussion, he agreed to work with me. Two days later, the car was ready. Memo had a surprise for me--the replacement transmission came with a new mount, and they managed to bring the total cost just under $2,600, nearly at my budget. THAT is honesty and integrity. I've been driving the car, and it feels exactly how a 20-year-old car in great shape should. No more clicking noises, and it's running beautifully. Since AAMCO handles other types of repairs, Memo and his team have officially become my go-to shop. I highly recommend seeing Memo at AAMCO if you need reliable, trustworthy service.

Surprise $$$$ John's Automotive Up-charged me once I arrived. I walked out. Shame on these guys…read more They'll take you over the coals with Upcharges and work you don't need unless you do what I did, and that is to walk out and bring my business to an honest shop. I had no idea this was the same people as I had got a [crazy, inaccurate] quote from in 2018. I was quoted over the phone that a complete diagnosis would be $109. They had the make and model, knew it was a truck so should be no surprises when I walk in. RIGHT? wrong. "We like to get paid for our time"; dude at the counter. Then don't misquote customers in the first place. His excuse was, "well, we have to check the back of the truck too". Lame. Posted: are the two quotes for a diagnosis, one from John's and the next from a shop that I won't share here, where my truck is currently being serviced. Further, let's go back a bit in history. In April of 2018 I visited John's location on Riverdale in Grantville. My truck had registered a check engine, which turned up regarding emissions. What did "Johns" say and quote me? " Well, Toyota Tundras have four catalytic converters so you are looking at $3,270. out the door, you need to replace these, then you'll pass smog, clear emissions ". Problem: they got it way wrong: the 2000 Toyota Tundras have TWO catalytic converters mister grifters. After that B.S. I left. [2007s - present have four converters, so ketchup Bubs!] Next, I left and went to "Cardiego" on Adams Avenue. The owner checked the emissions signal and said, " all you need is your drive cycle reset. One hour later and $90. dollars later the work was done, truck passed smog and no more emissions issue. It was my mistake that I had no idea that this same outfit had a second garage in La Mesa, had no idea I was walking into the same line of talk and walk. I expect that the owner Mr. Joan will comment here something like this, " I am sorry you seemed to have this experience, because we don't have a record of you in our system " hmmmm... My response [following my laughter] is this: on 4/27 your computer generated the quote that I have posted here. It generated the information you had on my vehicle back in 2018 because you have my old plate number of 6E71244. So Jon, don't try to tell me you never had me in the "system" because if you had not noticed, I now have personalized plates, I haven't had the 6E7... plates for a while now. To be clear: my Tundra is the best year that was produced, it has been cared for only with master techs, and runs perfectly. Word to the wise: My recommendation is to go elsewhere to take care of your auto. **My truck needed the lower front ball joint replacement in the front only. The shop I went to even took out the $57. diag charge since I had the work done with them. It is silent and smooth as usual. There was no noise in the back and a quote on a diagnosis means you quoted me on a diagnosis of the entire vehicle. Bogus, no: I never "authorized" more diagnosis work. Just a foolish response below.

Then I took the trolly all the way home to El Cajon. The quote was less than a quarter of the estimate of a collision repair shop up here. Two days later Luis called and said the car was ready for pickup. By the way he uses WhatsApp to communicate. I took a taxi from the border to his shop. The work was impeccable and the car was restored to pristine condition. Only one problem. When I looked in my wallet for the money to pay him the money was not there. I probably dropped it as I was paying the taxi driver. I must say that Luis gets extra credit and high marks for not panicking or berating me. He drove me to the border. I took an Uber to the closest bank, withdrew the money, Ubered back to the border and walked across again. Luis picked me up. Then back to the shop, I paid him and I was on my way. The situation was complicated by the fact that I had taken the fob with me so that they were unable to move my car while I was away. My screwups! The shop is located in the back of an apartment building and is accessed through a narrow tunnel in the middle of that building. If you put the address in Google maps, you can see exactly what that building looks like. There is no sign on the street. Following the route on Google maps it is very easy to get there. They don't take credit cards. Luis' English is OK, but not great. He gets a capital P for patience though. Excellent work going above and beyond that necessitated by the collision at a price less than a quarter of the estimate in San Diego.

Luis and his team at Colima provided excellent service and an excellent result with my car!…read more I was nervous traveling to Mexico for car work, but this shop does similar, maybe better work than the best in California. When you meet Luis, you'll get the impression that he's a honest businessman and that proved to be true. Luis was responsive and always had answers to my questions, he always was open and explained why he was doing certain things. He responded whenever I messaged him. The shop did very good work on my car. It looks brand new now. They fixed a piece of siding, some window parts, my door and trunk latches, they painted parts and fix things on my behalf that I was not even expecting them to do. They finished earlier than I expected. They finished with an extremely good paint job with no problems or hiccups. They were cleaning parts of my car and my tires when I arrived. They asked me questions and provided me with exactly the services that I wanted. I am going to recommend Luis and his team to my friends and family and anyone else. Excellent and recommended experience!
