6 month update - Very cool place to live. Location is superb and the place is very cool and modern…read more I have a 1 bed 1 bath and it's really nice. Clean, good design and plenty of natural light. Less than 15 minutes to downtown. People working here are really cool too. Nothing but good here, I plan to live here for a while. Great food and drink nearby too! Some favorites are Deeper Roots Coffee, Rooted Juicery, MadTree Brewing and Ambiance Nail Salon.

SAFETY Background checks appear inadequate - a tenant with a criminal history was approved and went on to rob residents at gunpoint in the parking lot on multiple occasions. Management did not notify residents; word only spread because another tenant hand-delivered letters to every door. A separate robbery occurred on property, and when a stalker was reported to management, they said it was a "civil matter" they couldn't act on. There are no security cameras. Packages are left in an unsupervised common area with routine theft - a secure office pickup system was discontinued with no replacement. People will routinely just rip open the building door to access the buildings. MAINTENANCE For two consecutive summers, AC was out for approximately 2-3 weeks during peak heat with no portable units provided. Bedbugs recur seasonally across both of Priderock Capital Properties. A paid door replacement never took place. My dishwasher consistently has standing moldy water that has gone unresolved. Looking at the reviews, multiple units have mold problems severe enough to damage residents' belongings. PROPERTY CONDITIONS Dog waste bins overflow regularly. Dumpsters at the entrance have overflowed so badly that a local news outlet covered it. The pool is cracked, and both the pool and gym are unsanitary and poorly maintained. There's is dog poop literally EVERYWHERE. MANAGEMENT Noise complaints about recurring disturbances are met with instructions to handle it yourselves'. Policy and management changes are never communicated to residents. Parking and towing rules change without notice - vehicles have been towed from areas management explicitly said were exempt. When you query them after being $180 down due to towing, they say there is nothing they can do. Management has been known to incentivise people to leave positive reviews, which is misleading to anyone researching the property.

The property is completely neglected and the way people drive inside the community is absolutely INSANE. So many people walk around and should feel safe to do so but the way people drive inside is not ok. They advertise having a gym, tanning, and pool but the pool was closed for the season so couldn't see it, tanning was not even up and we were told by another tenant that it has been like that for a long time so why advertise something you do not have in operation? My husband and I are active people and he does marathons so having basic gym equipment is all that we look for but the entire gym was broken down except for one treadmill. What a joke of community usage that is advertising falsely so. We took a walk through 2 apartments and they were both disgusting and everything is so worn and old that rust, walls, and doors need major repair or replacement. So bad. This is crazy because the location is great and community could be really cute but not taken care of at all.

This place is a disgrace. Avoid BrookStone Village at all costs…read more I lived here for only two weeks, and it was the worst housing experience of my life. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. They bait people with a $100 "discount" if you leave a 5-star review, which explains all the fake glowing ratings. Don't fall for it. I moved in on September 6th, and within minutes, I knew something was seriously wrong. The apartment reeked of mildew, was filthy from top to bottom, and had unfinished maintenance work everywhere -- tools and trash left behind, screws on the floor, no window screens (on a ground floor unit), and rusted "new" appliances. Then the real problems started showing: * Mold behind the washer and inside both bedroom closet doors * Furnace leaking from day one, with buckets of water sitting underneath it * Metal shavings all over the floor -- unsafe for my toddler and dog * Roaches and bug traps hidden throughout * Termites in the wood and electrical boxes with insulation exposed * Cabinets caving in from water damage (previous tenants said it had flooded) * Air vents and dryer packed with lint and filth * Window screens "sealed" with aluminum foil * Back door and screen door that don't even lock The living conditions were so bad that my young son and I both developed double ear infections, and my boyfriend's asthma flared so severely he had to use a nebulizer. The air quality and mold in that unit were disgusting and dangerous. The former regional manager, Robin, was completely unresponsive, dishonest, and negligent -- and she has since been fired, which says it all. Calls went ignored, nothing got fixed, and every concern was brushed off. It took multiple complaints to corporate just to get a refund and be released from our lease, and even that process was full of delays and excuses. BrookStone Village is unsafe, unsanitary, and mismanaged from the top down. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Save yourself the stress, the health issues, and the lies. Do not move here. The photos I'm attaching speak for themselves.

It is unfortunate, but there must have been a recent transition to management. When I first moved…read morein, the company was extremely responsive and proactive with updates. About 6 weeks ago, I reached out and spoke with either an intern or a new hire over the phone about getting an update on my lease termination for moving out. The person I spoke to said they would call me back once the manager was back from his honeymoon/wedding. I reached out the following week for an update but got no response. I then continued to call over the course of a few weeks easily 15+ times and no answer. I had provided checks to end my termination a few months back, and they couldn't give the decency to give me an update on when they would cash these checks out. Let alone verifying that the proper amount is getting paid (received a bill in the mail for a different amount that checks were written for). At the very minimal give me a call to update me. I am human, was not asking for much beyond the decency of an update. No emails, no calls, no updates. Before they write back and say they are happy to discuss, they could have had the chance to have done so before they randomly cash checks extremely late without any update. The apartment complex was pleasant and fine while I was there but there is something different with them over the past few months, with the unresponsiveness. I can upload all of the calls I attempted to do over that course of the 2 weeks as well if they want to say I did not.

I lived here from June 2018 through April 2019 in a studio with my husband on the second floor…read more Overall, it wasn't a terrible place to live, better than where we came from in the Mt. Auburn area where the neighbors harassed my husband and me (which is why I give this place two stars instead of one). We moved out early because we relocated to Houston, TX. The issues we had were: lack of effective communication in regards to important things. For example, when we first moved in, I inquired about the water bill several times and I was told I would get my first bill the next month on three separate occasions. Finally, I forgot to ask on the fourth month there and then I get a piece of paper taped to my door asking for the water bill to be paid immediately. However, they email you several times about trivia night. Also, I didn't have a dog but I would get papers taped to my door, reminding me to pick up after my dog instead of addressing the offenders directly. I also had a really weird experience last November during Thanksgiving time. There was a little girl wandering the hallways, stating that her brother worked and lived at the property. Being a nurse, I didn't feel comfortable just letting a little girl walk around without family in sight and looking very lost. I tried to get ahold of someone during the holidays without success. Someone had let the little girl into the building and let her wander all day. The girl definitely had some issues because she stated that other tenant's names were her nurses and she started randomly calling people on the call box at the entrance. I was then questioned for the issue because I was trying to find her brother's name on the call box since she stated that he lived there. We tried to get ahold of her brother. Several hours later, we were finally successful and he told us he lived there. The Monday after Thanksgiving, when I inquired whether the person lived there or worked there, the staff had no idea who he was. I saw him SEVERAL times and reported it to staff (even showing them his Facebook picture where he posed with guns and money), but they never did anything about it. They confirmed he didn't live there. He must've been crashing at his friend's apartment, undocumented. I can confirm that there is definitely marijuana smell rampant throughout certain hallways (2nd floor north) that I reported several times. My little 2 and 3 year old nephews who stayed in the guest suite had to endure the smell and asked why there were skunks in the apartment building when they came to the second floor to spend time in my apartment. I would highly suggest that the Red Management take a closer look at safety, security, enforcing rules and communicating better before putting fun and games such as trivia night above all else or blanket scolding all residents for a few offenders in regards to dog poop.

I normally do not write reviews, but I would love to share my recent experience with The Boulevard…read more Positive things: Super nice/helpful management. I love being able to walk to Oakley greens, multiple restaurants, and kroger/target. You really cannot beat the location. I have had no issues with neighbors and honestly, besides my loud upstairs neighbor that sounds like they walk with boots on all the time, I never really heard the people beside me. I loved how much cabinet space the apartment provided and the kitchen was a great size- felt like a normal kitchen size. Having two pools was very nice to help with overcrowding, however, you still have to come to the pool early to grab a chair. Both fitness centers were also great and they newly renovated them to keep equipment/space updated. Negatives: I have lost up to three amazon packages within my one year of living here, and I tried not to order too much because of this issue. I would literally have to play hide-and-seek sometimes to locate my package because they would put them in the large/disorganized package room, some random complex/stairwell, or just couldn't be found at all. Also, my complex was fairly close to the Mexican restaurant/Oakley greens and it was LOUD.. Especially in the summer when they open the outside patios/live music/ect, be prepared to hear lots of music/noise during the summer if your complex is on that particular side. People have complained about the train in past reviews, but that wasn't too much of a headache for me. Yes, it can get loud at times, but it wasn't something that really irked me. Lastly, I was also facing the trash from my complex, and the trash at the end of the week/weekend was always VERY backed up. It would be so backed up, that there would be trash bags scattered all over the landscaping surrounding the trash- it just wasn't a pretty sight to see (or smell).

We rented the Carnegie (2 BR, 2 BA) at The Drexel…read more Before move-in, we rated The Drexel 5 stars. Their staff leaned in during the sales process and we were able to quickly sign a lease. The square footage and in-unit washer and dryer were great for our family. We enjoyed the pool, too, even though we had to clean it ourselves every Saturday before swimming and the hot tub was mostly out of order. Why 2 stars? Read on. It's worth noting first that our unit felt out dated: * cracked laminate cabinet covers, low-end finishes; and * in need of a bunch of small repairs like fixing a broken blind, wobbly door knob and ceiling fan, mounting the dishwasher and a toilet, and unclog a bathroom drain. Not luxury as The Drexel claims, but livable for us. Our primary complaint relates to our unit flooding. Window/wall leaks soaked living room and bedroom carpets. We sent repair requests in writing and followed up in person... We got a wet vac and clean up ourselves to keep the space livable when the leak first happened. We continued to follow-up every time it rained and leaks occurred. We also reported what we believed to be black mold in vents... The Drexel never came to inspect or service our claims until we told them we were moving out early. We tried to break the lease amicably over the course of a month knowing our legal responsibilities under the lease (i.e. we owed money if they didn't re-rent the unit before our lease was up). The Drexel continued to escalate to the point where we needed lawyers involved. I could list a bunch of other reasons we're frustrated with The Drexel: stolen packages looted outside our bedroom window, refusing "trash valet" for a single extra box put outside by our elderly neighbor, dirty hallways, and leaks in common areas and other units... The Drexel may claim "bullshit" or staffing issues. We don't feel treated fairly. The Drexel stuck to the paperwork and didn't try to make anything right (not even removing $105 for cleaning and drip pans).

After considering this and some health issues, we called in less than 12 hours to cancel (I left at 6 pm and called the minute they opened at 10am) - willing to give up my $400 application fee - this group is fighting and telling me there is no cancellation of the lease - Just not a good way to do business, its just so disappointing, you think you are dealing with nice, reasonable people and they do this. I am sad to say i would not recommend the Drexel Oakley to others after this experience.
