Needed a sitter for my black Lab but realized it was the middle of Labor Day weekend! But Tails came through and Kali had a blast! Will definitely use his services again! read more

After researching, we decided to bring our 1 year old rescue here for their board and train program. We chose Tall Tails because their advertising specifically states they train using positive reinforcement only and specialize in working with rescue dogs. These statements sadly are not true, as they used a prong collar on our fear reactive dog without our consent. During our consultation, we made sure that Bill (Co-Owner/Trainer) was fully aware of the issues our dog has, including his fear reactive behavior. Our dog was in their care from Dec. 29th to Jan. 17th. We received little communication while our dog was in their care, including not having a concise pickup time. Upon picking our dog up, we received him in worse condition than his drop off. His legs were coated in dry urine and his neck was raw and bleeding from the use of the prong collar. We were told by Bill directly on pickup night that they missed multiple days of giving our dog his medication while in their care. He even joked that they could tell during training sessions which days our dog wasn't medicated. When Bill did the graduation demonstration, we watched in agony as he jerked on the prong collar for multiple minutes and physically pushed down on our dog's shoulders, trying to get him to listen to a command. Of the six commands they say will be taught during their program, they only worked on three with our dog. Because we don't feel comfortable using a prong collar, our dog has made no improvements at home with these commands or with his behaviors in general. His separation anxiety, ability to take medication, and his leash pulling and biting are all worse. He now also disengages from training sessions by hiding in his crate. We were in so much shock that we left their facility without confrontation, not yet having seen the damage to his neck. After debating whether or not to move forward with their group classes, we declined and presented our discontent with photo evidence of his injuries. Having paid $2,200 for this program, we requested only a partial refund for the training our dog didn't complete in their care and for the injuries they caused. We have not received any form of response from this business regarding our request. We do not recommend this facility and feel very upset for what our dog experienced. read more

For the first year plus of having a dog we used another kennel that was much closer to home but, the old lady had a bad experience or two when trying to call this place with them either not returning calls or being very snotty/stupid when they did so I was given the task of finding another place to take the dog when we hit the road. Immediately I got rid of a lot of places that will more or less just put your dog in a cage for a week to rot because they are for example in the city so they have no room for walks/play time and I had to get rid of places that do forced communal play time as our dog is an older rescue animal that was abused so to a point she'll always have issues around other dogs. With probably 90% of the kennels in the LV cut out of the equation I was lucky to find Tall Tails. The runs are very clean, they are more than willing to give you a tour any time they are open and everything is highly transparent and non-pretentious. TT is also located on a huge farm with horses and lots of room for dogs to play/get taken on nice long walks. In terms of price they are a few dollars a night more expensive than the place we were using prior and it's a bit of a PIA to trek all the way to Slatington but everytime we go the dog is happy both on drop off and at pick up and the staff are always happy to see her. Overall Tall Tails is a great spot for the dog and I have no problem recommending it to anyone for animal lodging. read more

Hip Hip Hooray!! This is the very best place I could have picked to train my 7 month old boxer. She was WAY too much puppy for me to handle, I am 75 years old. But I just picked up Layla from the 2 week training course and I could not be a happier camper. She does not pull at all and I no longer will fall on the front lawn from trying to control her. I can only say, " This is the Best Place to Train your dog". And one more surprise they clipped her nails, Thank You SOOOO much. read more

I came to Tall Tails with a challenging dog after having a negative experience elsewhere in the Valley. Bill worked with our dog and more importantly, me. He taught and explained the thought process and skills needed to keep our big boy in a calm and happy mental state. While we still have to keep at it every day, I can't thank Bill and Tall Tails enough for their kindness and patience. read more

The management of tall tales was disappointing. And some lady named Tony seem to be either intoxicated or on drugs. Very disappointing experience read more

Wonderful facility! Made room for our German Shepherd puppy at last minute and with no notice. Very professional, immaculately clean facility and professional staff who provided the type of care we wanted. And very reasonably priced. Highly recommend. read more

We love Tall Tails! We have trained and boarded our dogs here for many years. The facility is beautiful and clean, and the staff are attentive and kind. Our dogs actually seem to look forward to spending a week at Tall Tails "doggie camp." It's worth the drive to know that my dogs are happy and well cared for. read more

I am new to the area and I have boarded my dog twice so far and both were excellent experiences. When I went to tour the facility, the staff was super helpful and answered all my questions. Clean facility! I wanted a place that had outside runs so my dog could go outside to do her business and get fresh air. Prices are a little higher than I'm used to but not unreasonable. They have a grooming service that I've tried but my dog is such a scaredy cat. They didn't push her to do a bath to not stress her more so they told me they couldn't bathe her. They didn't charge me for trying. They wash any bedding you bring which is so awesome; never been to a place where they've done this service! Hours for dropoff and pickup are a little inconvenient though. I'm used to places being open from AM to PM and pickup/dropoff is whenever. This place has certain allowed times. They will accommodate you if you need a specific time so I guess thats nice! read more
